The scent isn't overpowering, so it doesn't cause any discomfort.
ConsI have seborrheic dermatitis and generally sensitive skin. When I first used it, it stung terribly. As I gradually got used to it, I suddenly developed milia. While it may or may not be due to this product, I stopped using it after two major breakouts.

ConsI heard there was alcohol in the ingredients, so I decided to patch test on the back of my hand first. From the moment I applied it until just before washing it off, my skin turned red, developed hives, and felt itchy and tingly non-stop. I'm so glad I didn't apply it directly to my face without testing – that could have been disastrous! For those with super sensitive skin, I strongly recommend patch testing or trying a sample before purchasing. The product is quite expensive and comes with a dropper, which made me hesitant. After trying the sample, I'm relieved I didn't buy the full-size product.

First off, it contains vitamin C, and I definitely noticed a brightening effect when I woke up in the morning after applying it at night. (Though it's more of a temporary glow you see when you first look in the mirror, rather than a lasting effect - your complexion seems to return to normal as the day goes on.) I also noticed my skin texture improved after sleeping with it on. My skin felt incredibly soft to the touch. The formula is thicker and stickier than most serums. When I first applied it to my hand, I worried it might feel too heavy or greasy on my face, but that wasn't the case at all. It absorbs into the skin, leaving it feeling soft and velvety. I was also pleasantly surprised that it didn't cause any tingling sensation, which I often expect from vitamin C products. The vitamin content probably isn't too high. I've read that using vitamin C with AHA/BHA can cause excessive exfoliation and skin irritation, but I always used this after my AHA/BHA pad and didn't experience any issues.
ConsWhen I first applied what I thought was the right amount, it absorbed so quickly that I worried my skin might feel dry, so I applied another layer. Unfortunately, this caused the product to pill up like dead skin cells. It seems like your skin needs some time to adjust to this product. The first night I used it, I woke up with three new blemishes on my cheeks, which was alarming. A few days later, I got more between my eyebrows and considered stopping use, but after persisting for a while longer, my skin seemed to adapt and the breakouts subsided. It's probably best to use this at night and wash it off in the morning, then use sunscreen during the day. At first, the vitamin C seemed to brighten my skin, but even after washing well in the morning, my skin looked a bit tanned. The scent might be off-putting to some. After applying, my hands smelled like coins after a while. I didn't think much about the price while using it, but when I went to write this review, I realized it's quite expensive. Given the price-to-volume ratio, I'm hesitant about repurchasing. Also, the packaging tends to leak. After using the dropper, product often seeps out around the neck of the bottle, making it messy to close.
TipIt's crucial to store this product away from sunlight. Initially, it comes with a regular cap, which you replace with the dropper upon opening. I left the original cap on my vanity, and the product residue on it turned from pale yellow to black, likely due to exposure to sunlight and air. This made me realize how important it is to keep the serum in a dark place.

Even as time passes, it doesn't get oily or dry out. My skin stayed moisturized throughout.
Cons1) Irritation I experienced severe irritation immediately after application, with a stinging sensation. After sleeping with it on, I woke up to find my face red and swollen. The swelling subsided after washing my face with a foam cleanser in the morning. I thought I might adapt with continued use, but even after 3 days, the redness and swelling persisted, so I had to stop using it. Given its short shelf life, I'll have to try it again when my skin is in better condition. 2) Faulty dropper The dropper seems defective. It doesn't draw up the right amount in one go, so I have to press really hard, which is inconvenient. 3) Ingredients The ingredients list is a bit disappointing. Particularly, they could have done without the fragrance. The artificial scent is quite strong.
TipI wish I knew some tips too!

The first night after applying this ampoule, I was amazed at how incredibly soft my skin felt when I woke up. To make sure it was really the ampoule's effect, I used it without any other products, and I could definitely feel my skin becoming smoother. Also, since I don't have particularly dry skin, I found that using just this product with my toner was enough to keep my skin hydrated, which was fantastic!
ConsI can't say the scent is particularly pleasant. Additionally, I experienced a slight tingling sensation when applying this serum to areas with blemishes. Another issue I noticed was that when the serum was almost fully absorbed, it would form a film-like layer that would pill on my skin.

First off, I loved that my face didn't feel dry after using it. It came with a jelly, which was right up my alley - I enjoyed it thoroughly.
ConsAfter just three uses, my skin broke out in blemishes, and it stung terribly when applying. When it dries on my nails, they turn yellow and it's hard to remove. While I appreciated trying it for free, it didn't suit me, so I passed it on to someone else. I wouldn't recommend this for those with super sensitive skin or acne-prone skin.

Since there's a big age gap between my sister and me, I asked her to try it. She's in her mid-20s. I gave it to her because she was worried about wrinkles. To be honest, she said she wasn't sure about the benefits. Personally, I quite liked the fragrance. After using it again, she says her wrinkles have improved!!!
ConsMy sister started getting blemishes after applying this. We're not certain it's because of this product, but her blemishes did increase. Her skin type is oily.
TipApply it after toner!! The formula is great!!

It's not greasy at all. It feels concentrated and really brightens up your complexion.
ConsAfter a while, there's a grassy smell that develops. It made my skin feel itchy after application.
TipWhile it does seem to even out the skin tone, the itchiness was quite bothersome, so I had to apply it sparingly with time intervals. If you find the benefits outweigh the side effects, continue using it consistently. However, if the side effects are more pronounced for you, I recommend discontinuing use immediately.

It's slightly rich but feels like it's penetrating deeply. It's not drying at all. When applied, it absorbs well and feels like it's forming a protective barrier on the skin. Even after some time, it doesn't make the T-zone oily. It gives a hydrating feeling and seems to build up the skin barrier. It would be good for evenings or during winter.
ConsI have sensitive, acne-prone combination dehydrated skin, and after using it about three times, I got a pustular acne on my cheek. I tried it on the back of my hand during Olive Young's fall sale, and it felt so hydrating and nice that I, despite my blemishes-prone skin, immediately bought it trusting the La Roche-Posay name. I prefer unscented products, but the fragrance... is strong. Even if I could overlook the scent, my skin... a quite large acne has appeared. A pustular acne with a few small whiteheads. Usually, such ampoule essences come out cleanly and easily, but this one sticks around the bottle opening and doesn't dispense well. I really like other La Roche-Posay lines, but I guess I'll have to use the remaining serum on my extremely dry body. I see there's a sample trial on the La Roche-Posay website now. Since it might suit some people's skin, I recommend trying the sample first before deciding. I'd like to experience more of La Roche-Posay's vitamin C effects, but I'm hesitant because of the current pustular acne.
