This is my holy grail for nose contouring. The color is perfect - a cool, ashy shadow tone without any red undertones. However, the pigmentation is quite intense, so I recommend using a small amount. Either tap off the excess powder from your brush and apply lightly for a natural look, or mix it with some translucent powder on your brush before applying. This technique allows for a natural yet defined contour. It's truly amazing. In the photo, the left side of the dotted line shows bare skin, while the right side demonstrates the shadow applied with a Job's tears brush. The color truly mimics natural skin shadows, making it ideal for contouring. The packaging is quite fragile, causing the shadow to break easily. There's also an excessive amount of powder fallout, particularly with this shade. However, the excellent pigmentation makes up for these drawbacks. The intense pigmentation makes it too dark for jaw contouring - I wouldn't recommend it for that. However, it's perfect for precise detailing in small areas like nose contouring and forehead contouring. It really excels at defining those specific contour points. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 24, 2020
As soon as I applied it, I felt it was incredibly similar to Etude's Radial Gray. It's a muted, low-saturation brown eyeshadow with a grayish tone and no shimmer. The main difference is that Etude has a subtle pearl finish, while this one doesn't. It's really a matter of personal preference. Personally, I prefer this one from BBIA because the color payoff is better. It would also work great as a contour shade. There's nothing particularly bad about it... If I had to nitpick, I'd say that while BBIA eyeshadows are high quality, the range of shades is limited. I wish they'd come out with a wider variety of colors. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinJul 26, 2020
I was looking for a light brown shade without any redness, and this is perfect. I'm very cautious about eye products due to frequent adverse reactions, so I chose this for its non-harmful ingredients. As expected, there were no side effects. The staying power is quite good, and the color payoff is excellent! Compared to other eyeshadows, it seems to apply a bit patchy. However, it's fine if you blend it out with your fingers! - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinFeb 23, 2020
I bought this for contouring and I love how it creates a natural shadow effect. The brown has a grayish undertone rather than red or yellow, which looks very natural. While the pigmentation is on the lighter side, you can build it up for a more intense look by layering. The disappointing part is definitely the packaging. It feels cheap and the eyeshadow case seems like it could break easily. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJan 8, 2020
I've used this for contouring before, and it seems to apply beautifully. The color appears slightly darker than it looks in the pan, which is nice. I appreciate that it doesn't contain any harmful ingredients. I bought this shade to use as eyeshadow, but I'm not sure if it's just me, but it didn't look very pretty when applied to the eyes. The color seemed a bit dull... There's also some excess powder fallout. I bought it along with a cinnamon shade, and based on appearance, I thought I'd use this one more, but it's not really a color I reach for often. I'd recommend it for contouring though. I recommend using a brush rather than your fingers for application. - Hwahae UserDry SkinFeb 26, 2019
An affordable item with great color payoff that I find myself reaching for quite often! I originally bought this for nose contouring, but the color is too intense for that purpose. The longevity isn't great either, so I wouldn't recommend carrying it around with you. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinJan 14, 2019
The color payoff is great and the texture is incredibly fine, making it a pleasure to use! It feels so soft and smooth to the touch. The shadow isn't a yellow-tinted brown, but more of a grayish-brown, which looks super natural for nose contouring, chin shading, and adding depth to the eyes. The photo I attached looks a bit reddish for some reason, but in reality, it's a brown without any red undertones. Also, I usually get blemishes when I use contouring products, but this shadow didn't seem to cause any skin issues! The case and the shadow look like they might break or shatter easily if dropped. I haven't actually dropped it, but it makes me feel like I need to be extra careful when using it. This color is perfect for natural contouring and adding depth. Considering the quality at this price point, I think it offers excellent value for money! If you're looking for a grayish-brown shade, I highly recommend Pia's Job's Tears! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSep 16, 2018
The color payoff is great! Some say there's excess powder, but I didn't experience any when applying with my fingers. Nothing particularly bad to mention. It would be nice if it came with a larger case for storing eyeshadows. Nose contouring - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 2, 2018
Though it's marketed as an eyeshadow, this shade is perfect for contouring! The low-saturation brown color creates the ideal shadow effect. While the pigmentation is intense, requiring careful application to avoid patchiness, once you master that, it looks even more natural than many contouring blushers. It's a game-changer for softening a sharp jawline! I'm already on my second one since the eyeshadow pan is small. For those who find yellow or red eyeshadows challenging, this muted shade is easy on the eyes. Its subtlety is its strength, complementing any lip color without clashing. The price is a steal too! With just this Job's Tears shade in your makeup bag, you're good to go - no need for multiple products. While I love this color so much that I overlook its flaws, it's not one of those modern formulas that's creamy, firmly pressed, and free from fallout. There's more powder kickup than you might expect, so you'll need to control the amount you use. And yes, you might go through it quickly... I highly recommend trying this as a contour! Those with very fair skin might find it a bit intense, but for most, I think you'll be satisfied. It also works beautifully as an eyeshadow and eyebrow color! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinJul 24, 2018
This is a dark brown without a hint of redness, making it perfect for contouring... It's truly my holy grail. The color payoff isn't overwhelming, and it blends out smoothly for a natural-looking makeup application. While there aren't any real downsides, the eyeshadow itself is a bit delicate, so you need to be careful not to drop it. Otherwise, it'll shatter completely.
