Even after trying all the highly recommended moisturizers, I always felt something was lacking. No matter how many layers I applied, it seemed like the dead skin cells were blocking everything. My skin felt extremely tight underneath, while the surface felt slick. Plus, I absolutely hate sticky or heavy textures, so finding the right product was a real challenge. It wasn't just my face - except for summer, I'd keep multiple body creams by my bedside and apply oil after showering. I'd wake up itching and reapply, but nothing helped. My arms and legs were always covered in scratch marks. Then I discovered the prescription-strength Cetaphil AD Emulsion. It's been a game-changer - the regular Cetaphil doesn't work, but the AD version is amazing. It absorbs quickly without any greasy feeling, and it's light and non-sticky. I was shocked at how fast it calmed my flaky skin. After showering, I apply a small amount to my face within 3 minutes, pat it in, then use a bit on my body. It absorbs rapidly, and a little goes a long way. I'm thrilled that the persistent flakiness and scars I've had for years have disappeared. I've been using it consistently for 4 years now. My husband has combination dehydrated skin and initially disliked the smell. But after reluctantly trying it when his skin got red and flaky from winter outdoor activities, he now uses only Cetaphil. He was amazed at how quickly it absorbed without stickiness and calmed his flaky skin.
ConsWhile using Cetaphil, I noticed it stung quite a bit when I applied it during atopic flare-ups. Out of curiosity, I researched each ingredient and found a couple that gave me pause. However, I've never found anything else this effective, and the stinging subsides after 2-3 days, so I'm still using it for now. Whenever a new product claims to be good for dry, atopic skin, I try it hoping for the best. But inevitably, it either sits on top of my skin, causes itching or stinging, feels sticky, or feels heavy. I always end up back with Cetaphil AD. Unfortunately, when it's time to repurchase, I can only find products online with expiration dates in 2020 and manufacturing dates in 2017. It makes me hesitant to buy.
TipWhen you first apply it, you might notice it doesn't absorb immediately and leaves a white cast, requiring some effort to spread evenly. This is because the formula has very little oil, so it doesn't immediately mix with your skin's natural oils. That's why it's important to pat it in to help it absorb. This is especially true for those with dry skin lacking in oil. Because it's not oily or sticky, you might be tempted to use too much, which can make it feel heavy and greasy. You really don't need to apply a lot of this product. A tiny amount, patted in, is enough to see results. Even on my extremely dry, flaky skin that looked like parched earth, a very thin layer was effective. Remember, for dry skin, applying too much can actually prevent absorption and lead to product build-up on the dead skin cell layer, potentially causing blemishes. If you feel you need more, apply another thin layer and pat it in. You'll see quick results without any greasiness, heaviness, or stickiness - just a fresh, hydrated feeling.

When applied in the morning, it keeps your skin moisturized all day long.
ConsWhen I applied it while my body was extremely dry and sensitive, it stung at first.

But the next year, it started creeping back... One ingredient seemed to be the culprit. Now we've switched to Weleda White Mallow, but after using it for a few months, there's no improvement. I'm really worried... That's why I'm back on Hwahae, searching for answers.
ConsThe amount is small, and my baby finds it stinging... I'm not sure why, but they really dislike it and cry. I'm torn about whether I should keep applying it...

ConsI tried it on my face too, but it stung a little. I guess it's not suitable for me.

ConsWhen I tried to apply it to my baby, they pushed it away. So I tried it on myself and it stung terribly. When my baby wore it, their face became irritated. I'm so disappointed because it was recommended as a good moisturizing line for atopic skin.
