Since late summer, I felt like nothing suited my skin, so I was considering switching my moisturizer when I bought this emulsion. I initially got it as a cream substitute, and my first impression was that it's indeed an emulsion - a bit runny? Both the texture itself and the feeling when applying it to my face seemed somewhat thin and light! Despite that, it moisturizes well! My deep dryness disappeared! My skin, which was always bright red (not just redness, but all over my face except around the eyes), has also become lighter in color. With its combination of ceramides, niacinamide, and hyaluronic acid, it's hydrating enough to use as a moisturizer, and the hydration doesn't evaporate quickly. It might be a bit lacking when it gets colder though. If you're like me with super sensitive skin, an oily T-zone but a somewhat dry U-zone, I think this is a product worth trying! Adding to this! As the weather got colder, the oiliness I felt on my face disappeared overnight... I wonder if my skin was just being dramatic again, or maybe it was partly due to this emulsion since I didn't experience an explosion of oil when using other products... Just take my comment about potential oiliness with a grain of salt! Now that it's colder, using CeraVe PM alone isn't enough... After all, an emulsion is an emulsion. Still, it feels much more hydrating than any moisturizer I own!
ConsAt first, I thought it might soothe my dry, sensitive, and flushed face, making it hydrated... But the more I use it, the more my face explodes with oil. The skin surface feels like it's covered in sticky... petroleum(?!) I was surprised to see my skin become a bit fresher only after making 3 oil blotting papers transparent. It's difficult to remove that unique sticky oiliness with a low pH cleanser. So I ended up double cleansing... After that, I've been using it fairly well. Winter is coming anyway... I'm thinking about alternating it with the AM version in summer.
TipI totally agree with the advice to find the right number of pumps for yourself. I use two pumps and start by patting it from my dry mouth area and cheeks. For my forehead and around the nose where oil and blemishes tend to appear, I apply the remaining amount lightly. If your cheeks still feel dry, layer it once more just on the cheeks! The feeling is definitely not heavy, but it does get oily... Before makeup, wipe your face once with toner. I use a very watery toner (I use Alteya Organics Rose Water). If you use a very hydrating, viscous toner, you might feel your skin is a bit sticky...

It reminds me of Paula's Choice Balancing Gel.
ConsUnfortunately, it doesn't feel like it's doing much on the skin. It dries too quickly, which is disappointing. There's also a silicone-like texture that I'm not fond of.
