The finish is pleasantly matte and comfortable on the skin.
ConsPossibly due to the niacinamide content, applying too much can cause a slight itching sensation on the face. It seems best to use it in moderation.

While I can't say much about the skin barrier specifically, there's a definite sense that it's protecting your skin with a boost of hydration.
ConsAbout a month after using the product, I noticed some increased oil production and my face started to feel a bit itchy. I wonder what could be causing that...?

Perfect for dry winter skin!
ConsAfter a month of use, I started experiencing slight itchiness. Looking at other reviews, it seems some people have had similar reactions. Keep in mind it's a direct purchase item...
TipAfter toner, I like to layer it thinly twice. It leaves my skin feeling nicely hydrated!

After using Stridex, my skin became extremely sensitive, but after about 2 weeks of using CeraVe, my skin has become more resilient! In the past, even small irritations would quickly make my skin sensitive (like temperature changes, after exercising, or using face masks), but these days my skin has become so strong that I hardly feel any irritation. My skin produces less oil now. My dermatologist recommended this for my seborrheic dermatitis, saying it was causing excess oil production, and after using it, I really feel like there's less oil. Before, my face would be an oil slick 3 hours after washing, and I always carried oil blotting papers, but now I don't even need them! My redness has disappeared! I used to always have redness, but since using this, it has significantly faded. Overall impression: It's incredibly gentle, and the ceramide ingredients really seem to strengthen the skin. It absorbs quickly, and after absorption, it feels like a thin protective layer has been applied.
ConsSince it's not a moisturizer, it can feel a bit dry if used alone. 5/16 Update: Around the 3-week mark, my skin strangely broke out. My skin was itchy every day, and I thought it was due to demodex mites, but when I looked it up, I found many people experiencing similar itchiness and sudden breakouts... I wonder what's causing this? My skin doesn't usually react like this - it's the first time in 7 years, since my senior year of high school, that my skin has broken out this badly. I'm really upset about it. 5/24 Update: I visited the dermatologist last week, and it turns out it wasn't a reaction to the product, but folliculitis! After treatment, I started using it again and it seems fine! I guess I unfairly blamed CeraVe...
TipCeraVe PM: When used alone - feels dry CeraVe PM + CeraVe Moisturizing Cream: Feels like an extra layer is added, but still dry Ampoule + CeraVe PM + CeraVe Moisturizing Cream: Not super hydrating, but the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream feels like it creates a coating that prevents the ampoule from evaporating, which is nice

A dermatologist mentioned that it contains well-balanced ingredients suitable for the skin, which speaks to its quality. The application and feel are great too. It has a moisturizing cream texture that glides on smoothly. Although it's lightweight, applying multiple layers provides decent hydration without feeling heavy or pilling up.
ConsI'm unsure if this product suits me or not. While it seems gentle, I experienced persistent itching after application. Some areas became red and raised, and I noticed either new blemishes forming or existing ones becoming more prominent. The appearance of these blemishes really bothered me.
TipFor those needing extra hydration, you can apply generous layers multiple times without experiencing any pilling or greasiness.

It almost became a staple in my routine...
ConsI had to stop using it because it caused a tingling irritation similar to when I first used Stiva. I'm not sure if it's due to the niacinamide content...

I applied it twice and the ingredients are good, plus it's affordable. I decided to try it because I heard that propylparaben and methylparaben aren't as dangerous as some claim. I'm not put off by parabens since I've been using Stiefel A, which is full of them.
ConsAs soon as I applied it in the morning, my face turned red. I thought it might just be an adjustment period, so I tried it again after washing my face in the evening. But then my skin became incredibly itchy, stinging, and red with small bumps or tiny inflammations appearing. I waited 30 minutes, but the itching got worse, so I washed it off and reapplied my Zeroid soothing cream. I bought this thinking it was cheaper and had better ingredients than Zeroid, which I was about to finish, but I really regret it. It's possible that using it after Stiefel A caused this reaction.
TipIf you're sensitive to niacinamide, don't use this product. I realized this after reading the comments. I'm also curious about how it works for people who use it with Stiefel A.

After reading some treatment reviews, I decided to give this a try. While a blog analyzing ingredients mentioned it contains some components typically found in hair conditioners and parabens, which gave me pause, I was still intrigued. The formula seems to have many ingredients that contribute to good absorption. When I first applied it, I was impressed by how easily it spread and provided lightweight hydration without feeling oily. It seemed promising up to that point.
ConsUnfortunately, seborrheic dermatitis often comes with inflammation and itching. I had read reviews saying this product helped reduce itching, so I applied it multiple times. However, by the second day, I noticed small bumps appearing all over. My existing seborrheic dermatitis remained unchanged, but now I had these additional bumps. I had to stop using it after just two days. I'm devastated, not knowing what ingredient didn't agree with me. To make matters worse, I paid international shipping fees to buy this (from Gmarket). I'm worried I might have received an expired product from the seller. I've gone back to using just my antifungal cream and regular moisturizer. It's so frustrating dealing with seborrheic dermatitis! I wish I could use richer moisturizers, but it seems impossible to find one that works. It's truly disheartening.

That's all I can say...............
ConsHowever, it's itchy. I broke out in acne. Even though I'm a man who occasionally uses foundation, this one pills.

Recently, it started causing stinging and itching, so I switched to Cetaphil a few days ago. Still, it worked well for my sensitive, acne-prone skin without any major issues! In winter, it was a bit drying, so I had to apply it twice.
ConsSometimes, for reasons unknown, it would cause itching and stinging when applied. I suspect the niacinamide ingredient doesn't agree with my skin. Although it's marketed as a gentle product, I recommend everyone carefully check the ingredients before use.
