I've never seen a lip balm as good as the Ginger Sugar Essential Lip Balm! When I wake up in the morning, my dead skin cells are easily removed. Applying it before makeup leaves my lips moisturized. I use this product when I go out. I prefer the solid stick format! The coating on the product surface peels off and gets on my hands... Apart from that, there are no issues! Apply a thick layer in the evening, and in the morning, gently rub with a damp cotton swab for baby-soft lips. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSep 19, 2022
I've been using this product since high school, and it's become an absolute essential for me! Before bed, I slather it on generously, and when I wake up the next morning, my lips are wonderfully hydrated and soft. In this state, when I gently rub my lips while showering, any dead skin cells that have built up come off naturally, eliminating the need for separate exfoliation! Although it's called a ginger lip balm, it has more of a lemony-ginger scent. The amount you get is truly generous - one tube seems to last for about a year. Applying it before makeup and then lightly wiping it off before putting on lipstick helps the color adhere beautifully and stay put. It's a definite win-win! I've been using this for over 5 years, and honestly, I can't find a single flaw in terms of price, quantity, or functionality. However, in the dead of winter when your lips are severely chapped or extremely dry, this product might feel a bit light. In such cases, I'd recommend trying the jar version of the ginger lip balm for more intensive moisturization. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 10, 2022
The scent is lovely, and it feels moisturizing as a lip balm should. I highly recommend it! I wish it had a bit more color payoff. There's a slight disappointment when applying it to bare lips. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSep 5, 2022
It's so moisturizing and really helps when your lips are painfully chapped! On days when my lips hurt, applying this made them feel better. I also use their night lip balm from the same line, which comes in a cylindrical container, before bed. The Aritaum ginger sugar line seems to be really effective for lip hydration. It can be a bit annoying when air gets into the tube, making it difficult to squeeze out the product. I've tried the stick version too, but this tube is more effective, so I'm sticking with it. One downside though - it's a bit troublesome when your hair sticks to your lips after application. Apply refreshingly before bed or after a shower for best results. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinNov 8, 2021
Being in a tube format, this is the most moisturizing among ginger lip balms! I didn't really find any downsides while using this lip balm. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinOct 26, 2021
Some people say it's too sticky, but as someone with desert-dry lips that absolutely can't be moisturized by stick balms, I find this product to be the most hydrating among tube-type lip balms. I've been using it exclusively for years. It's especially irreplaceable in winter. Compared to its beastly volume, the container's durability is weak. Without fail, before I can finish the product, the tube tears and develops holes, forcing me to throw away both my bag and the product... - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinMay 15, 2021
It's truly hydrating. When you apply this, you hardly see any dead skin cells. It's perfect for winter use. It's a bit sticky. It might be too heavy for summer use. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinFeb 23, 2021
When I wake up after applying this before bed, I still feel the initial moisturizing effect. (I debated between describing it as 'moisturizing' or 'sticky', but...) It feels heavy when applied, not light. I usually prefer lip balms that glide on smoothly and feel lightweight, but this one feels like it's thickly coating my lips! I can't recommend it to those with similar preferences... It's like applying corn syrup to your lips! It's very sticky... It's hard to even call it hydrating. It feels quite greasy. If you're like me and dislike sticky, heavy lip balms, either apply a tiny amount or consider purchasing a different product! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinFeb 13, 2021
The texture is so rich and moisturizing that when I apply it before bed, all the dead skin cells plump up and fall off by the next morning. When I had nose surgery and had to breathe through my mouth for three days due to cotton packing, my lips became extremely dry. This lip balm was far more hydrating and effective than others I've tried. While other products dry out and cause lip flaking, this one seems to have incredible moisturizing power. The formula feels slightly heavy, but if you apply just the right amount, it's comfortably hydrating and works well enough. If you apply it before going to sleep, you'll wake up with truly moisturized lips. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinDec 19, 2020
This review comes as I'm nearing the end of the tube. I've been using this lip balm for almost 6 months now. The fact that I'm just now reaching the bottom speaks volumes about its generous size. Even though I tend to apply lip balm quite liberally, it's lasted this long. Great value for money. Some say it absorbs slowly, which means it's quite rich. I usually apply it generously before bed, like a sleeping pack for my lips. This leaves my lips incredibly hydrated. I bought this as an alternative to the Ginger Sugar Lip Mask, and I find it quite similar. It's just as easy to apply generously before sleep. In fact, the squeeze tube format is even more convenient. I used to prefer stick types like Uriage, but now I find tube types more hygienic and practical, so I often buy them. It feels like it's wrapping your lips in a protective layer. Rather than absorbing quickly, it creates a barrier that guards against moisture loss. This makes it perfect for winter and seasonal changes. It's also great to layer over lipstick. It adds a pretty shine while moisturizing, which is especially useful when lipstick feels drying. That's mainly how I used it. I wouldn't recommend using this if you have any lip conditions. It absorbs slowly, and the ingredients aren't particularly impressive - it might even cause irritation. While it's fine on the lips themselves, the surrounding area can become itchy, which I suspect is due to the ingredients. Apart from this issue, I would highly recommend this lip balm.
