Usage period: 2 years (Hit pan yet?) Coverage: High (Gives a flawless finish) Staying power: Medium to high (Significantly decreases in summer) I recommend using a brush rather than the built-in puff The puff lacks durability and tends to clump the product! Works well for eyebrows and hairline too - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinMay 17, 2025
The Hwahae makeup lasting power is incredible. This is just a must-have item. Honestly, I've tried a lot of different powders, but when trying to control the oiliness, it ends up being drying, and when using something more moisturizing, everything just falls apart... But this one manages to control the oil while still keeping my skin looking fresh! I was amazed that the base makeup stayed flawless and in place all day long. The Hwahae UHD Powder is an absolute essential for days when you really want your makeup to last. Especially on days when you're wearing a mask, if you don't use this, your whole makeup look just falls apart... Just sweeping it over your nose, forehead, and chin absorbs excess oil and gives a real 'makeup fixing' effect! Puff is not included, so it needs to be purchased separately. The amount is a bit on the low side (it wears out quickly if used frequently). It may not provide sufficient coverage for those with oily skin and large pores. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 9, 2024
As someone with oily skin, I've tried every powder that's been highly recommended, but I always come back to the conclusion that MAKE UP FOR EVER's HD powder is the best. You don't have to work hard to control the amount, it doesn't look cakey, and it even makes uneven skin texture appear smooth. I've honestly gone through so many of these! Even if I buy other powders, I always keep this one stocked as my go-to. I wish drugstore brands would create a powder that matches this HD quality... It seems to be finer than other brands' products, so it might be wearing down faster on the puff... It really does seem to disappear quickly, which is a bit disappointing. Also, please make the puff suitable for storing inside the compact! It's inconvenient having to carry it separately. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinMay 29, 2024
A quick sweep with a brush and this product works hard to eliminate excess oil and minimize pores. I was so worried about my pores - I tried changing my entire skincare routine, bought every serum claiming to improve pores, and even tried masks, but nothing could hide them. This product solved my concerns! After application, my pores are practically invisible. I've tried other powders, but nothing compares to this one. It goes on thinly but sets well, and it's so effective at controlling oil that my face looks incredibly matte and fresh. It feels like it's used up so quickly - why does it keep disappearing? There's a lot of excess powder that scatters everywhere. It's inconvenient without a built-in puff or brush, so I can't carry it around. I only use it before going out. - Hwahae UserDry SkinApr 15, 2024
My eyebrows are thick and straight, so curlers tend to lose their effect quickly. However, I've found that using an eyelash curler and then lightly dusting some powder on my lids really helps the curl last longer. The price is quite steep, and it doesn't come with a built-in puff or brush. To make matters worse, the brush they sell separately is incredibly expensive. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinFeb 10, 2024
I had been using Banila Co powder as a cheaper alternative to Mefactory, but I wanted to try a better powder, so I decided to give this a shot! While the blurring effect is similar to Banila Co, I loved that it feels much thinner and less heavy, even when applied generously. Being a pressed powder, it also had significantly less excess compared to loose powders. Using a puff doesn't give the most even application, but the blurring effect was fantastic. With a brush, it applies thinly but with relatively less blurring. However, compared to other powders, it still does an excellent job at reducing shine even when applied with a brush. I recommend using a dense brush with lots of bristles, as the flimsy Daiso ones can't effectively set the powder for that velvety finish. As for staying power, maybe because I have dry skin or because it's winter, it maintained its initial appearance well. My makeup didn't break down, which was great! Not being able to store the puff inside the compact? That's quite inconvenient, unfortunately. It pairs wonderfully with the Studio 17 powder brush! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAug 21, 2023
The fine particles prevent clumping and control oil well, so I'm using it happily. It's especially great in summer when I hate feeling greasy after applying sunscreen. Just a light pat-pat-pat and it definitely leaves my skin feeling powder-fresh! The quantity is generous too - as someone with dry skin, I've been using it for over a year! I wish the price would come down a bit... And the puff isn't as good as I expected. It would be nice if it could be stored inside the powder compact, but keeping it in my makeup pouch raises hygiene concerns. Plus, the black color makes it look even messier. I ended up switching to a puff from another brand while using this powder. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 14, 2023
I finally understand why Make Up For Ever powder is so famous after trying it! I was hesitant to invest in such an expensive powder, but once I used it, I was impressed. The particles are so fine that even after powdering, my skin doesn't look cakey. It glides on smoothly, leaving a beautiful finish! I've used up the whole container and I'm planning to repurchase it. The only downside might be its portability... I'm not sure about the quality of the puff that comes with it, and it doesn't fit inside the container anyway. I have to carry it separately in my makeup pouch, which makes everything quite bulky. I can't carry a brush around either, so I end up not bringing the powder with me. It would be great if there was space to store the puff! Apply evenly with a brush and control the amount!!! Then sweep it on for a gorgeous complexion - Hwahae UserOily SkinDec 7, 2022
I love how using a brush to apply it completely eliminates any shine or oiliness The biggest drawback is the price, and I'm a bit disappointed that it doesn't come with a puff applicator - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinNov 30, 2022
I've been using this for about 4 years now, and even after trying various other products, I keep coming back to this one. It's lightweight, leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth, and it's just all-around great! In winter, when my skin gets flaky and dry, this product works the best for me. It doesn't provide coverage. Also, it's a bit inconvenient that it doesn't come with a built-in puff applicator. Other than that, I don't have any particular complaints...
