I was delighted with how hydrated my skin felt and the beautiful glow I woke up to in the morning! Since I don't have acne-prone skin, I didn't experience any blemishes at all. I found this essence to be excellent for moisturizing as well! There weren't really any downsides, but if I had to pick something, I noticed a slight increase in oiliness. I think it's better to apply this in the evening rather than in the morning before makeup! - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAug 29, 2023
Dry / Sensitive / Thin skin My skin type could be described as a total disaster..^^ I've tried all the products from Laneige's famous hydration line - toner, emulsion, essence, and cream. Among them, the essence and cream worked best for me~! 1. It's a hydration explosion!! It's incredibly moisturizing! I skip the toner and apply the essence directly, which instantly tackles my deep dryness. However, as it may dry out over time, I like to 'seal' it with cream! 2. Balances oil and moisture perfectly As a skincare nomad.. After studying about skin and trying various products, I've learned that a good oil-moisture balance prevents blemishes. The Laneige Water Bank Essence maintains this balance well, allowing me to use it without any skin issues~! 3. Hygienic pump container! While most essences require opening the lid and pouring into your palm, Laneige designed this with a pump. I love how sanitary it is. It's a bit heavy due to the glass packaging,, might weigh down your bag if you're carrying it around.. Other than that, no complaints! Oh! For those with oily skin, it might feel a bit rich, so be sure to test it before purchasing~~~ Using the Laneige hydration line as a set gives your face a beautiful glow Also, applying the essence on damp skin after cleansing helps it absorb even better for maximum hydration ~^^ - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 28, 2023
It's moisturizing with a good balance of hydration and oils, making it quite effective for keeping skin hydrated. The Water Bank line has its signature cool, refreshing scent. I like that it applies more lightly and thinly compared to a cream. It feels a bit like it's sitting on top of the skin, probably due to its rich texture. When applied to bare skin, it doesn't seem to absorb well at all. It's disappointing that it contains phenoxyethanol and sulfates. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinMar 24, 2022
It feels incredibly moisturizing and soft! I'm not sure how it'll work for deep dryness yet, but for now, it seems to eliminate any feeling of tightness deep within the skin. It's a bit slippery? There's some oiliness left on the surface. The scent is also reminiscent of that typical shampoo smell you'd encounter at a public bathhouse... - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinDec 19, 2021
Seems suitable for dry skin types. Not ideal for combination dehydrated skin that only becomes slightly dry in winter... I wonder if I should have bought the Hydro version instead. Even though my skin becomes drier in mid-winter and during seasonal changes, I thought this would work. It does provide hydration, but it's also very rich. When applied, it leaves a greasy surface, yet somehow feels lacking in deep moisture. It's an awkward texture that makes you want to apply more, but you can't. Even in the depths of winter, it's an oil explosion... I'd only recommend this for extremely dry skin that truly lacks oil. As someone with combination dehydrated skin that becomes slightly dry in winter, it's hard to manage. It's like getting 30% less hydration than needed, but 120% more oil than wanted. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 28, 2021
The product has a rich, dense texture and, being from a moisture line, it offers excellent hydration. For me, it's quite heavy for an essence or serum, making it challenging for daily use. It might only be suitable for winter when my skin is extremely dry. It's a bit oily and leaves a sticky feeling, which caused my makeup to pill in the morning. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinMay 6, 2021
Great value for money with a generous amount of product. The pump dispenser, while occasionally splattering or challenging to control, is still the most convenient packaging. Unlike many hydrating essences that fall short, this one has a rich texture that delivers more noticeable results in just one application. As part of my nighttime routine for dry skin, I use several products. However, on nights when I use this one, I notice an excessive amount of oil around my eyes as time passes, giving the sensation that it's getting into my eyes. Highly recommended for those with dry skin lacking both oil and moisture balance. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinDec 15, 2020
I love how moisturizing it is! It provides excellent hydration. I've been using it for years now. When my skin is really dry, this alone isn't enough. Unfortunately, all the moisture evaporates, leaving only the oiliness behind. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 2, 2020
The absorbs well is smooth and moisturizing, gliding on nicely. As for how it absorbs, it initially feels a bit shiny, but over time it really sinks into the skin! I have oily skin, so sometimes this felt a bit heavy for me. I'd recommend this to those with oily skin for winter use! Maybe because it's summer, it felt even heavier and greasier... As a result, I started getting a few blemishes here and there... Still, I think it would work well in winter! - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSep 2, 2020
The hydration is top-notch. It's truly excellent at moisturizing. The moisturizing effect doesn't feel heavy or suffocating. It's a bit on the oily side. My eyes feel heavy when using it due to the rich texture.
