I was delighted with how hydrated my skin felt and the beautiful glow I woke up to in the morning! Since I don't have acne-prone skin, I didn't experience any blemishes at all. I found this essence to be excellent for moisturizing as well! There weren't really any downsides, but if I had to pick something, I noticed a slight increase in oiliness. I think it's better to apply this in the evening rather than in the morning before makeup! - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAug 29, 2023
Dry / Sensitive / Thin skin My skin type could be described as a total disaster..^^ I've tried all the products from Laneige's famous hydration line - toner, emulsion, essence, and cream. Among them, the essence and cream worked best for me~! 1. It's a hydration explosion!! It's incredibly moisturizing! I skip the toner and apply the essence directly, which instantly tackles my deep dryness. However, as it may dry out over time, I like to 'seal' it with cream! 2. Balances oil and moisture perfectly As a skincare nomad.. After studying about skin and trying various products, I've learned that a good oil-moisture balance prevents blemishes. The Laneige Water Bank Essence maintains this balance well, allowing me to use it without any skin issues~! 3. Hygienic pump container! While most essences require opening the lid and pouring into your palm, Laneige designed this with a pump. I love how sanitary it is. It's a bit heavy due to the glass packaging,, might weigh down your bag if you're carrying it around.. Other than that, no complaints! Oh! For those with oily skin, it might feel a bit rich, so be sure to test it before purchasing~~~ Using the Laneige hydration line as a set gives your face a beautiful glow Also, applying the essence on damp skin after cleansing helps it absorb even better for maximum hydration ~^^ - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 28, 2023
It's moisturizing with a good balance of hydration and oils, making it quite effective for keeping skin hydrated. The Water Bank line has its signature cool, refreshing scent. I like that it applies more lightly and thinly compared to a cream. It feels a bit like it's sitting on top of the skin, probably due to its rich texture. When applied to bare skin, it doesn't seem to absorb well at all. It's disappointing that it contains phenoxyethanol and sulfates. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinMar 8, 2023
I bought this because my skin was so dry, and it's great for everyday use! I'm on my second bottle of this product, so there's not much I dislike about it. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinNov 6, 2022
It absorbs well and isn't too light, which helps with hydration. The volume is quite generous for an essence. The scent is pleasantly mainstream. Given that it's not cheap, I wonder if they could switch to plastic instead of glass packaging. The hydration isn't exceptionally outstanding, so I probably won't repurchase. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinMar 24, 2022
It feels incredibly moisturizing and soft! I'm not sure how it'll work for deep dryness yet, but for now, it seems to eliminate any feeling of tightness deep within the skin. It's a bit slippery? There's some oiliness left on the surface. The scent is also reminiscent of that typical shampoo smell you'd encounter at a public bathhouse... - Hwahae UserDry SkinFeb 6, 2022
I'm on my fourth bottle of this product. A few years ago, when my deep dryness suddenly got worse, I tried various hydration products that were said to be good. Waterbank helped control the deep dryness, so I've been using it consistently. I only used one bottle of the Hydra product because it contains ethanol and seemed to make my skin even drier. The Moisture type, probably because it doesn't contain alcohol, suits my skin better and keeps it more hydrated. The volume is quite generous, and the packaging is convenient. However, I wish the ingredients were a bit better. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinNov 30, 2021
I definitely felt more hydration compared to the Hydro Essence! It had a really watery emulsion-like feel. I used it together with the cream from the same line, and it helped combat my deep dryness! And even though I'm not usually a fan of scented products, the fragrance of this one is totally my style... The hydration doesn't last very long, so layering it might work better - Hwahae UserDry SkinNov 18, 2021
It's truly a hydrating essence - the moisturizing effect is top-notch! I love how it provides more deep-down hydration than a regular moisturizer. Using the Water Bank Essence year-round, and adding a hydrating cream in winter, keeps my skin plump and moisturized without any dryness. The texture isn't particularly rich, so it feels like it's purely focused on hydration. Since it doesn't seem to provide many other nutrients, you might need to use additional products for anti-aging or brightening effects. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 2, 2021
• Texture: It has a slightly runny consistency, similar to a cream skin toner. • Application: It absorbs lightly and, most importantly, isn't sticky at all. • Absorption: Due to its lightweight feel, it absorbs well! The finish feels moisturizing, as if there's a slight richness to it. (*Compared to the Hydro Essence - The finish felt very fresh and completely absorbed) • Hydration: While it's hard to expect perfect hydration from an essence alone, I think it provides adequate moisture! (*Compared to the Hydro Essence - It had more of a watery feel, so it was difficult to expect intense hydration) - It seems like it would be good for everyday use, and especially nice for summer when you want something lightweight. - While the scent is pleasant, it's a bit strong, which is disappointing. - Honestly, when comparing it to the Hydro Essence, I didn't notice a huge difference with the Moisture version. However, if you have dry skin and are looking for more hydration, I'd recommend the Moisture Essence. If you prefer something very light and super fresh, go for the Hydro version!
