Stick with trusted brands. I tried a cheaper alternative and it ruined my skin... I'm absolutely furious! After using this, my face broke out in tiny bumps, it spread into a skin rash, and my complexion became rough and uneven. I'm seriously upset! - yh*****Combination SkinRecommendedAug 7, 2023
Value for money: I've been switching between cleansing oils and foams, but I've been using Face On powder wash for over a decade. The value is insane - the size is so generous that I feel almost embarrassed to call myself a regular customer due to the long purchase intervals. Usage: Lately, my sebum production has been high, making my nose bumpy by evening. When I lather it up and massage it in, my skin becomes smooth again. Since it lasts forever when used just on the face, I use it as a body wash too. Benefits of powder type: 1) Easier to portion out and carry compared to foam or oil types 2) Dissolves quickly in warm water, faster to lather than foam types (Note: be careful of clumping if you use a lot for body wash) 3) Clean recycling as the product doesn't stick to the container Every time I repurchase, I feel relieved it's still available, but also worry if it's okay for them to sell it at such a low price Choosing the formula: The granule type can feel a bit abrasive when rubbing to dissolve, while the fine powder type (pre-renewal) can be dusty when dispensing. Neither are major drawbacks, so choose based on your preference. Either way, buying two of these is still less than half the price of other powder washes - it's incredible value for money! - lo*********Combination SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedOct 27, 2022
I used to use Amore Pacific products, and while their performance is likely good given the brand name, the value for money wasn't great considering the quantity. I was hesitant to repurchase, but this product offers such great value that I decided to give it a try! It's even better that they provide a small container for portioning out the product. I've noticed that enzyme cleansers can sometimes clump due to moisture inside the container. When using an enzyme cleanser, gently work it into a lather, apply it to your face, and massage in circular motions. What's there to be disappointed about? It's so affordable compared to other products! I'm completely satisfied. Be careful with moisture. Since they provide a separate container for portioning, that's probably the best way to use it. - wi********Dehydrated SkinInner DrynessRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedFeb 26, 2022
Incredible value for money! This Pyunkangyul cleanser is ultra-gentle. You can control its exfoliation and daily makeup removal power by adjusting how much water you add and how you lather it. After learning that powder washes are mainly corn starch-based cleansers, I tried this one, along with Isntree and a couple of Coupang brands. My conclusion? They're all pretty much the same. But this one? A whopping 200g for $27 (used to be $18, sigh). Highly recommend for those with sensitive skin or anyone wanting a thorough cleanse. I actually came to the Hwahae app just to recommend this. Already spread the word to everyone I know! Why did the price go up? Wish they'd sell an even larger size for cheaper... Can't think of any downsides to powder washes except the price hike. For reference, here's a gentleness ranking of cleansing products: Powder wash (gentlest), cleansing gel (makeup removal varies by product), cleansing balm and oil (double cleansing required), cleansing water (can irritate when rubbed with cotton pads), cleansing foam (strips even necessary oils and moisture from skin). To use, pour a small amount of powder into your palm, add a bit of water, and work into a lather. Then gently massage the foam onto your face in circular motions. - ha*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMar 23, 2021
This enzyme cleanser seems to be formulated for gentle daily care, unlike most enzyme cleansers that are typically used for dead skin cell management. However, I'm not entirely sure if it fully lives up to the role of a traditional enzyme cleanser. For combination dehydrated skin or oily skin types like mine, where the T-zone gets greasy by afternoon, I've found that stronger exfoliating ingredients are necessary. In that case, I don't see a compelling reason to use this product specifically. I couldn't really tell the difference between this and a regular cleanser. For my daily dead skin cell care routine, this wasn't quite enough. The product comes in a generous size that lasts a long time. Since it's a dry powder cleanser, exposure to water or moisture could be problematic. I recommend transferring a small amount into a travel-sized container (you can find these for cheap at places like dollar stores) and keeping the main bottle outside the bathroom. This method works really well! - 10*********Dry SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedDec 26, 2020
Affordable and great value for money! It exfoliates, moisturizes, and is simply amazing! If you have dry or atopic skin, this is a must-try! I used this and finally freed myself from dry skin issues. This is definitely on track to become my holy grail product! Being a powder type, it can be a bit tricky to dissolve and might get messy in winter. To work around this, I wet the mesh and gently massage it - that works well. I sprinkle the powder on the wet mesh before use. Even when rubbed between hands, it creates a rich, creamy lather which is fantastic. It removes makeup in one go! However, for eye makeup, you should use an oil cleanser first. It would be great if it had oil in it like enzyme cleansers do. Using it with a wet mesh or buying in bulk makes it cost-effective, allowing for long-term use. - 5o****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedNov 19, 2020
2021.03.09 Update: I've been using this consistently since last December and I love it~! These days I use it for my body and hair too, haha! It lathers well and feels great! My routine: I wash my hair and body first, then cleanse my face with this. By the time I get to my face, the dead skin cells have softened beautifully, making exfoliation twice as effective. I discovered this routine by chance recently and have been sticking to it. My skin texture has improved so much! 2021.04.03 Update: For those with oily T-zones like me! Since it's mildly acidic, it's not super strong in cleansing power. I double cleanse the oily areas with the same product. Since doing this, my skin texture has improved even more and it seems to be helping with whiteheads too! I really like this... it's great! I bought the large size in July but didn't use it much at first. Recently, my skin flared up badly, so I checked all my products on Hwahae. This one had few ingredients, none of the 20 caution ingredients, and no extracts (that's my criteria for sensitive, acne-prone skin. I don't consider EWG ratings). So I decided to give it another try. I was a bit worried about the one oil ingredient, but it didn't cause any issues and seems to keep my skin hydrated after cleansing without any dryness. In the morning, I use a small amount for a light cleanse. In the evening, I use more (I love lots of foam, so I use plenty). My skin has calmed down a lot now. While I can't say it's solely due to this product, I can confirm it didn't irritate my sensitive skin. These days, it seems like products with lots of extracts and long ingredient lists are popular. It's a shame this great product isn't more well-known. I think it's one of those products that those in the know recognize as a great cleanser and use consistently. I wish I'd bought a smaller size, haha! There's so much that even though I want to buy it again, I won't need to for a while. I'll keep using it consistently from now on. Please keep selling it for a long time! I haven't found any downsides yet. If I do, I'll add them later. For areas with excess oil (e.g., nose), if you cleanse twice with this (for less than a minute each time), your skin becomes super smooth. It's amazing how smooth it gets - I was shocked when I tried it earlier! For the chin, I tried exfoliating without wetting the powder first, scrubbing gently, and it became very smooth too. I recommend trying these methods only on areas where your skin barrier is strong. Don't do this on delicate areas! - lo********Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedNov 6, 2020
I've been using this as my go-to product for over 6 years since discovering it by chance at age 20. As for the texture, scent, and particles - it's a powder type that I use by mixing with water to create a foam. It's definitely gentler than other squeeze-type cleansing foams! It's fragrance-free, and the particles are very fine, almost like flour. I love that it's slightly acidic, which is great for my sensitive skin. I have various skin issues like closed comedones and patches of atopic dermatitis, but since using this product consistently, my blemishes have decreased and I haven't had any other skin troubles. After cleansing, there's no squeaky-clean feeling (which is actually better). Even with my combination dehydrated skin, there's absolutely no feeling of tightness. The effectiveness is clear - after switching to this product, I actually felt the difference in my troublesome closed comedones clearing up. I've strongly recommended it to friends struggling with blemishes too! I'm almost upset it's not more well-known... I really, really love using it. I highly recommend using it consistently. The inevitable downside of a slightly acidic powder type is that its cleansing effectiveness is a bit weak. I always wear foundation due to my skin concerns, and when I use an exfoliating toner after cleansing once or twice, I still see some residue. So I tend to cleanse about three times with a small amount. It's a bit of a hassle, but I try to accept it given the powder format. Also, if you don't dissolve the powder thoroughly, it could potentially irritate the skin. But this shouldn't be an issue if you make sure to create a good lather before using. It does foam up quite well. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedAug 18, 2020
Unlike using regular soap, this left my skin feeling soft and smooth. I also love that it comes in a generous size. Sometimes the cleansing effectiveness feels a bit weak. On days when I've applied a lot of sunscreen, I feel like I might need to wash my face multiple times. - ls*****Dry SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 6, 2020
Out of all the cleansing products I've tried on my dry skin, this one seems to have the best hydration. They say it can double as a mask, so I sometimes use it as one in the evening. The rich lather makes cleansing a real pleasure. It's great for men too, as you can use it from head to toe in the shower instead of separate shampoo, cleanser, and body wash. It's especially good for travel - just pack this one product and you're set. The ingredients are gentle, and the price is even gentler, so you can use it without worry. I've been sticking to this cleanser for years now! I can't think of any downsides. I'm using it with complete satisfaction.
