It definitely provides a noticeable level of hydration. You can feel the moisturizing effect when using it. The scent is really off-putting. After application, the fragrance is overwhelmingly strong. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinApr 1, 2020
The photos show the front, back, and appearance after shaking just before use, in that order! This is a review from The Hwahae Testers! It's my second time being selected, but I've been too busy to write a review until now... This review is from a man in his 20s with oily skin. Let me start with the advantages: 1. It absorbs well! Due to its thin consistency, it's easy to apply and makes a great base. It also absorbs quickly - just pat it in and it sinks right into the skin! 2. It has a pump dispenser This is what I really loved about it. Unlike products that you have to scoop out with your hands or use a dropper, this pump format is convenient for everyone, whether you're used to applying with your hands or a dropper. The hygienic aspect is a bonus! 3. It mixes fairly easily When you look at the product, you'll see it's separated into oil and something else at the bottom. At first, I was worried I'd have to shake it vigorously before each use. But it actually mixes well with just a bit of shaking! It's not really inconvenient at all. I'll update my review with more usage feedback after I've used it for a longer period. 1. The smell is just too... It's overwhelming. Honestly, I'm not usually sensitive to cosmetic scents, but this one is really intense. Despite any other drawbacks, I don't think I can continue using it because of the smell... It's like a cosmetic scent mixed with something else. It's hard to describe, but I found it quite unpleasant. 2. Ingredients It seems to contain some potentially allergenic ingredients. My skin isn't particularly sensitive, so I was fine, but if you're considering buying this, please check the ingredient list carefully. 3. Price I think it's a bit expensive for the amount you get. Students might find it a bit pricey... 4. Consistency It's too thin. I think it's the thinnest serum I've ever used. It seems even thinner than the toner I'm currently using, which makes it difficult to apply. Of course, this might vary from person to person, so it's best to judge for yourself... but I found it too watery. 5. Eye irritation Even when I try to be careful applying it around my eyes, some kind of vapor seems to rise up and makes my eyes sting. People with sensitive eyes should be cautious when using this. + I'm not sure if it's just me, but... my makeup that used to apply well doesn't seem to go on as smoothly since I started using this serum. No matter how much I pat it in, it doesn't seem to absorb well. It feels like it's creating a barrier. I'm not sure if it's because it doesn't match with some of my other cosmetics, but keep this in mind. While it might work well for some people, it really didn't suit me, so I can't give it a good rating. Hmm... Since the product is very thin and easy to apply, it might work well layered over a sheet mask! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 27, 2020
The Hwahae Testers review! Key points to consider: 1. My skin type: T-zone (forehead and nose) is oily with excess sebum and dead skin cells, while cheeks and U-zone are dry in winter and spring, making it combination skin. 2. My skin is sensitive and reacts quickly to stress, lack of sleep, or new products. To minimize other factors, I maintained a healthy lifestyle and used my regular skincare routine while testing this product. 3. I received the product on the 19th and patch-tested it on my hand for two days (19th, 20th) before applying it to my face, ensuring no redness or allergic reactions. 4. Application order: After cleansing, BRTC V10 Peeling Pad > Bioderma Hydrabio Tonic > Aloe Gel > Missha Time Revolution Serum (the reviewed product). Advantages: 1. Quick absorption Despite having an oil layer, it absorbs quickly without feeling greasy or sitting on top of the skin. There was no oiliness immediately after application, and only the cheeks remained shine-free over time. 2. Brightening While not dramatic, consistent use for 7 days did result in a brighter complexion. 3. Improved skin elasticity I don't have many fine lines, so I can't speak to its wrinkle-reducing effects. However, I noticed my cheeks felt firmer and more supple after applying the serum. 1. Scent The fragrance reminds me of laundry soap or old-fashioned cosmetics, which I didn't particularly enjoy. 2. May not suit oily skin During the first 3 days of applying it all over my face, my oily areas (forehead and nose) became even greasier than usual within 10 minutes. It also increased dead skin cells around pores and caused more small bumps on my forehead. After that, I only applied it to my cheeks. 3. Potential irritation for sensitive eye areas My eye area is extremely sensitive, prone to atopic dermatitis from heavy or prolonged makeup use. I didn't test the serum around my eyes during the trial period. However, when a small amount accidentally got near my eyes, I experienced a slight burning and tingling sensation, even without any atopic symptoms, and had to wash it off immediately. (Note: My case might be unique due to extreme sensitivity, but those with sensitive skin should definitely patch test before purchasing.) - Hwahae UserCombination SkinMar 27, 2020
I'm in my mid-20s with dry skin that's prone to developing small bumps if I neglect care. This product seems more suitable for ages above 20, so I used it with my mom who's in her 50s and loves ultra-rich products. I only used it at night. Some reviews mentioned it was very sticky, but I found that pressing it firmly into my skin with my palms helped it absorb well, leaving a decent finish. It makes a slight squelching sound when you press and pat it in. Following up with a cream eliminated any residual stickiness. (Still, I'd be hesitant to use it before makeup) It gives an immediate glow, so it should work well for those who lack natural oils or enjoy using facial oils. Even my mom, who usually feels like my regular hydrating serums do nothing, has been using this consistently! When I asked her about it, she said she loves how the glow makes her skin look healthier. Initially, it's quite difficult to mix the oil layer, probably due to lack of space in the bottle. You need to shake it vigorously. The scent reminds me of old-fashioned cosmetics, like Mise en Scene hair essence, which I found a bit off-putting. After using it for a few consecutive days, my T-zone pores got clogged, so I switched to using a smaller amount only at night. I've been extra cautious lately as I've been getting unusual blemishes from wearing masks... You need to be careful depending on your skin type. I think it might have been better received if launched in winter. The oily texture also means the product lid easily gets covered in fingerprints, which is a bit disappointing. I'd recommend this to those looking to add richness and nourishment, rather than addressing deep dryness or creating a protective layer. It seems most suitable for those 40-50 and above. Be careful not to use too much as it can be hard to absorb - just pump out a small amount and press it into your skin with your warm palms for the best absorption! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinMar 26, 2020
The Hwahae Testers review~ I had high expectations since this is Missha's high-end line, and it didn't disappoint. I always pay extra attention when applying skincare products, especially around my under-eye area and nasolabial folds where dryness is more prominent. The nourishing effect of this product was fantastic~ However, it might be a bit heavy for use before makeup during summer. It would be perfect for night care or during other seasons. Oh, the fragrance is too artificial. While it's not headache-inducing, it's disappointing considering the current trend towards more natural, botanical scents. I have an oily T-zone but very dry U-zone, so I only applied this to my U-zone before using cushion foundation. The product has separate oil and water layers that need to be shaken well before use. It provides an excellent oil and moisture balance, especially during seasonal changes. At night, I generously apply it to areas prone to wrinkles and use a facial massager. The next morning, my skin has such a beautiful glow. You should definitely give it a try! - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinMar 26, 2020
The Hwahae Testers Review after 2 weeks of use: I've been using this product consistently for a month to properly evaluate its whitening and fine line effects. Skin type: Severe pores and redness after teenage acne. Combination dehydrated skin with oily surface but deep dryness. Frequent dead skin cells around mouth and chin. Product features: 1. Texture Water-like consistency. Expected a thick serum, but it's surprisingly thin. Almost no oily feel. Feels more sticky than slippery when applied. 2. Oil and moisture balance After 3-4 hours, more hydrating than oily. Not extremely moisturizing, but no dryness or tightness. Unlike heavy oil-based products that leave a greasy film, this one has minimal oiliness. Maintains a pleasant level of hydration for a long time. 3. Blemishes I generally have thick, resilient skin, but this product didn't cause any irritation or blemishes. Seems gentle on the skin. 4. Absorption Absorbs quickly with gentle patting. Initial stickiness disappears fast. Despite my oily yet extremely dry skin, it absorbs well after a short while. My mom, who has more neutral skin, found it sticky for longer, but it absorbed quickly for me. 1. Scent Personally disappointed with the fragrance. Reminds me of my dad's aftershave or grandma's herbal cosmetics. The strong, long-lasting scent clashed with my usual products, so I only used it at home in the evenings. Hesitated to use it when going out due to its intense, lingering aroma. 2. Functionality Regarding its dual whitening and anti-wrinkle claims: While I don't have many fine lines, I didn't notice any significant improvement in skin elasticity. For whitening, after about a month (considering the skin renewal cycle), there seems to be a slight reduction in redness. It causes my makeup to pill. Not sure if it's incompatible with other products, but even after thorough absorption, it's an issue. Seeing similar feedback in other reviews, so it's not just me. Might be better suited for evening skincare routines. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinMar 26, 2020
I've been using this diligently for over a week before writing this review! As soon as you apply it, it envelops your skin, instantly filling it with hydration. The moisture lasts until morning, leaving your skin feeling soft and supple. I also felt like my skin became more elastic, if that makes sense? It seems to be a cream that maintains an excellent oil and moisture balance, so I think it would be perfect for those with dry skin! You need to shake it more than expected to mix it well, which can make your arm tired... haha. Also, the fragrance is very strong. It's likely to be a love-it-or-hate-it situation. I'm sensitive to scents, and it was almost overpowering for me. There are also many potentially allergenic ingredients in the formula. However, I didn't experience any blemishes, so they're probably present in very small amounts. Still, if you have super sensitive skin, you might want to consider this aspect carefully. I'm not sure if this is the right way to use it, but if you find the scent too strong, try using it without mixing the oil layer. The oil seems to be the source of the strong smell. That's how I've been using it! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinMar 25, 2020
[A review from The Hwahae Testers] My skin type: Extremely dry + Atopic around eyes + Super sensitive skin [Advantages] 1. Luxurious packaging. -> The package itself exudes a high-end feel with its gold and black color scheme. It felt so luxurious that I thought it might be too extravagant for someone in their early 20s to purchase on their own. The bottle design was also innovative, featuring a gradient from transparent to opaque gold. 2. Perfect oil and moisture balance. For my extremely dry skin, this had just the right balance. I usually apply a face oil after using hydrating products, but with this one, I didn't need to. My skin didn't crack or feel tight even without the extra oil. While it might be slightly less hydrating on its own, I'm still very satisfied with its performance. 3. Excellent moisturizing power. Thanks to its rich texture, the moisturizing power was incredible. It was effective enough to replace my face oil routine. I didn't experience any blemishes, and I'm really enjoying it, so I'll continue using this product. The fragrance felt artificial and overwhelming. I think it would have been better if they had made it fragrance-free. For even better moisturizing results, apply this after using products that provide hydration! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinMar 25, 2020
※This is a review from The Hwahae Testers※ A daughter in her 20s with oily skin and a mother in her 50s with dry skin used this product together. <Review from 20s with Oily Skin> 1. Application Looking at the package, I thought it would be very heavy and sticky, but after shaking it well, it wasn't heavy or sticky at all. The texture was lighter than expected, making it easy to apply evenly. It's surprisingly lightweight, yet you can feel it adhering to the skin with a firm texture as you apply it. 2. Finish It's fascinating how it doesn't feel heavy on the skin, yet it makes the skin feel firm. I applied it to my neck as well, and I could definitely feel my skin becoming firmer and smoother. I was worried the firm finish might feel stuffy on oily skin, but it turned out to be comfortable even for oily skin types. <Review from 50s with Dry Skin> 1. User Experience My mother said she was surprised by the thin consistency when first pumping it out, but was satisfied with the firm texture she felt when applying it to her skin. She liked that the firmness remained until morning, yet there was no stickiness or oiliness when washing her face in the morning. 2. Price She mentioned that compared to other effective anti-aging serums/ampoules/essences from road shops, this product performs just as well but at a more affordable price. <Review from 20s with Oily Skin> 1. Usage Method You need to mix the two layers of the contents, but it's hard to tell when it's well-mixed, so you have to keep shaking it, which can be tiring for your arms. On the positive side, the pump dispenser is convenient compared to a dropper. 2. Scent The fragrance is quite strong, making me sniff repeatedly. It has an artificial scent reminiscent of department store cosmetics, which is disappointing. The scent lingers even after application. My mother, however, didn't mind the scent. 3. Ingredients It contains shea butter, which doesn't suit my oily skin well, so I've decided to let my mother use it from now on. However, since it's listed towards the end of the ingredient list, I didn't feel any heaviness on my skin while using it. <Review from 50s with Dry Skin> 1. Usage Method My mother found it a bit inconvenient to shake the product before each use. However, she's gotten used to it now after daily use. 2. Product Packaging She mentioned that the product container reminds her of a lip and eye makeup remover or an empty perfume bottle. Maybe it's because of the oval shape and the visible line showing the content level from the outside? I recommend this product to those looking for a lightweight anti-aging product that firms the skin and aren't sensitive to fragrances. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinMar 25, 2020
Hydration power The hydration is incredible! When I apply it at night, it's still there in the morning! Even my mom, who has dry skin, praises it. The honeycomb-like moisture component underneath? It's so much more moisturizing than similar products from other brands. Innovative design and application I love that it doesn't use a solvent since you mix it before use. When you shake it, it transforms into sparkling capsules - it's beautiful! The case is also very luxurious, and I adore how it shimmers! Generous 40ml volume While most other ampoule serums come in 30ml, this one offers a generous 40ml. That extra 10ml really shows how much they care about their customers. The scent... I find the fragrance a bit artificial. It reminds me of public restroom soap or air freshener. I'd almost prefer a strong raw ingredient smell. However, my mom likes the scent, so it seems quite divisive. I only need to use three pumps due to its high moisture content. That's plenty. I used to use Innisfree's Fermented Energy Oil as my hydrating serum, but I think I've finally found a replacement.
