It definitely provides a noticeable level of hydration. You can feel the moisturizing effect when using it. The scent is really off-putting. After application, the fragrance is overwhelmingly strong. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinApr 20, 2020
It's a product you need to shake before use, and when you do, it feels a bit like jelly! But the moment you pump it out, it's just pure moisture. Being an oil serum, I was worried it might be too greasy for my combination dehydrated skin, but the more I patted it in, the more perfectly it absorbed. Above all, you can see how it gives my skin elasticity and that Inner Glow... Honestly, there are no real drawbacks. I thought an oil serum would be heavy and leave a greasy residue, but it's not like that at all! In fact, I've been using it really well lately. I tend to apply it generously when my skin feels dry. Before makeup, I squeeze out a small amount and pat it in until it's fully absorbed. When I do my base makeup after that, my foundation goes on so much better! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 30, 2020
Absorbs well: When applied to the back of my hand, it felt moisturizing with less stickiness. It's not completely non-sticky, but has a pleasant level of tackiness. I could really feel it sinking into my skin. As someone with oily but dehydrated skin, I was impressed that it kept my skin hydrated even after some time. The instant glow it gave was beautiful, making this product a real winner for me! There's not much to dislike about this product. However, if you're not a fan of any stickiness, you might want to skip this one. I also wouldn't recommend it for those with extremely oily skin. The only other downside is that it's a bit pricey for the amount you get. Personally, I find that applying just this serum after washing my face is enough to keep my skin hydrated. I prefer not to layer too many products before bed, so this works perfectly for me. You could use it after your toner if you like. For those with very dry skin, I'd suggest using it as a middle step in your routine, followed by a cream. - Hwahae UserDry SkinMar 28, 2020
I had high expectations for this product because it promises the effects of real capsules that are freshly blended right before use, rather than artificially added capsules. I was anticipating something different and potentially more effective. The golden ratio of 2:8 between the nourishing layer and the hydrating layer definitely provides a moisturizing effect with added nutrition, not just a light hydration. It balances oil and moisture well, keeping the skin hydrated from evening application until the next morning! In my case, I'm using it only as a night cream because I experienced some pilling before makeup, though I'm not sure if it was solely due to this product. Personally, I really love the texture and scent, and I'm highly satisfied. However, my younger sister who used it with me developed some blemishes. After looking into it, we found out it might be due to the shea butter content. But they subsided quickly. Just a note that individual experiences may vary! I used to add oil drops to my creams, but with this product, I tried mixing a bit into my regular cream. I'm not sure if it's because of that, but when I wake up in the morning, my skin feels twice as hydrated. It might be my imagination, but I'm happy either way! - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 27, 2020
This review is based on about 2 weeks of real use as part of The Hwahae Testers. I used this product every single day, morning and evening, for about 2 weeks without fail. ♡Reviewer's skin type: Combination acne-prone skin Texture: At first glance, I thought it might feel quite rich. However, when I actually applied it, rather than feeling oily, it had a more sticky texture that seemed to properly balance oil and moisture. It didn't feel dry, nor did it feel greasy. Absorption: Surprisingly, it absorbs quite quickly after application, so I think its absorption power is excellent. While the moisture is absorbed into the skin, the surface feels firmly protected. Scent: The fragrance has an old-fashioned feel (like an artificial mix of flowers and soap) and I found it a bit strong. However, once applied, the scent isn't too noticeable. It seems to be more intense when you're applying it. Volume: At 40ml, it's not a small amount at all. You can use it for a surprisingly long time, and I think you'll be able to use it generously. That's because you don't need to use a lot each time you apply it! Function: This product claims to have anti-wrinkle and brightening effects. As I'm in my early 20s, I can't really comment on the anti-wrinkle effects, but I definitely saw results in terms of brightening. Recently, due to lack of activity and frequent all-nighters, my face had become dull. After using this consistently for 2 weeks (it's not a dramatic whitening, mind you...), I can feel that my skin has become noticeably more radiant than before. I can confidently vouch for its brightening function. Price: I'm a bit disappointed with the price... While I'm satisfied with its performance, at this price point, I might consider looking for a product with better value for money. Usage tip: Towards the latter part of using this product, I used it for facial massage. Instead of applying it normally like an emulsion, I massaged it in and applied an extra layer to specific areas. Not only does this enhance its firmness, but if you want to feel more elastic skin, this method could be very effective. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 27, 2020
The Hwahae Testers Review: Absorbs well into the skin Contains oil that gives the skin a radiant glow and provides excellent hydration Skin feels firm and supple after application When applied to the neck, it feels fresh without stickiness and doesn't settle into wrinkles Great for use on its own as a morning moisturizer on days when you don't want to wear makeup The subtle fragrance makes it suitable for those with sensitive noses When used in a skincare routine of toner-this product-emulsion-essence, it can feel a bit sticky when mixed with the emulsion and essence applied on top, making it less ideal for use before bedtime Despite focusing on skin elasticity and wrinkle improvement, significant effects are not noticeable The price feels a bit high for the 40ml volume Two pumps are sufficient for generous application on both face and neck As it's lightweight when used alone before makeup, it might be beneficial to apply a moisturizer similar to an emulsion before your serum - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinMar 27, 2020
The Hwahae Testers Review: After 2 weeks of use, here's my detailed review! The photos were taken with an iPhone camera to show the results as they are. 1. Texture and Hydration ⭐️⭐️⭐️ - It has a moisture-rich texture. I'd love to use this year-round! - It's separated into two layers, but when shaken, it creates a perfect balance of oil and moisture. - I prefer minimizing my skincare routine due to my sensitive skin. After using toner and this product, I didn't apply anything else, yet my skin felt incredibly hydrated! - On days when I had visible dead skin cells, I only used this after toner, and it helped smooth them out. 2. Ingredients ⭐️⭐️ - I occasionally get blemishes and redness from harsh ingredients, but I've had zero issues since day one with this product! - It seems suitable for most oily, dry, and combination skin types. 3. Compatibility with Foundation ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - What impressed me most was how well my makeup applied after using this! It pairs perfectly with my The Face Shop Ink Lasting Foundation. It helps the foundation absorb into the skin without any pilling. Overall Rating: ✔️ I think anyone, except those with severe blemishes, would be satisfied with this product! ✔️ Using it before makeup creates a natural skin texture. I'm completely satisfied! ✔️ The scent might not be for everyone, so I recommend testing it in-store if possible. While I was satisfied overall, there were a couple of minor drawbacks: 1. The scent might be divisive - This serum has a unique, strong fragrance unlike other skincare products. I personally enjoyed it, but it might not be suitable for those who prefer unscented skincare. 2. The inconvenience of shaking before each use - Because it's separated into two layers, you need to shake it every time you use it. - If you forget to shake it, the hydration effect is noticeably reduced! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinMar 27, 2020
This is a review from The Hwahae Testers. For the most objective assessment, I used this product in my nighttime routine for 10 days before writing this review. The perfect balance of hydration and oil for the changing seasons. One of the product's key features is its separate oil and water layers, which need to be shaken before application. While I knew most serums and essences contain both oil and water, with their texture varying based on the ratio, this product truly stands out for its well-balanced formulation. During seasonal transitions, my skin fluctuates between oily and dry, becoming quite sensitive (even using a cotton pad to apply toner can cause irritation, redness, and flushing). This product provides just the right amount of oil, not only offering basic firming and brightening effects but also maintaining an excellent oil and moisture balance. It didn't cause any additional blemishes either. Ideal weight and effectiveness for 30-somethings new to anti-aging skincare. After ten days of use, while I didn't see dramatic results, I noticed my skin looked slightly brighter and my pores seemed a bit smaller when I woke up after applying this product followed by a cream. Although I use different products in my morning routine, so I can't attribute the effects solely to this product... As we know, anti-aging, firming, and brightening effects often take more than a few days or weeks to show, and are more about prevention, right? Entering my 30s, I started worrying about wrinkles and loss of elasticity, wanting to take preventive measures. This product's texture is less heavy than traditional anti-aging products (especially creams), and I was mentally satisfied with being able to address anti-aging concerns at the serum level. For those curious about the weight, compared to Missha's famous Time Revolution Night Repair Ampoule, this one is lighter and less sticky. It's naturally a bit heavier than purely hydrating, soothing ampoule serums. Clean and user-friendly transparent pump bottle. The clear container not only shows how much product is left but also allows you to see the separate layers that need to be mixed before use. I appreciated this feature. Compared to dropper bottles, which can sometimes struggle to draw up product and risk introducing dust or impurities when inserting and removing the dropper, I found this pump bottle very satisfactory. Strong scent reminiscent of 'mom's cosmetics'. Perhaps because I've just entered my 30s, I'm not used to this kind of fragrance in skincare products. It has that typical anti-aging functional cosmetic smell, which lingers even after application. I did get used to it after a few days, but... Given that many modern skincare products are fragrance-free and colorless, and there's really no need for a strong scent at the serum/essence stage, I found this aspect disappointing. Overly dated design. While the bottle's functionality is fine compared to other Missha products like the Time Revolution Night Repair Ampoule, the aesthetic design falls short. Especially since this product needs to be shaken before use, a fully transparent body would be better to showcase the mixing effect (like Dalba's oil mist). The current design is ambiguous, making the product name hard to read and giving an outdated impression. Since even those of us in our 30s are interested in such anti-aging products, please make it more visually appealing. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinMar 27, 2020
This is a review from The Hwahae Testers. ✓ Adequate hydration and moisture I have combination dehydrated skin. My skin feels deeply hydrated, and the moisturizing effect is perfect for this season. I used to only apply such skincare basics before makeup, but now I use it at night too. In the morning, instead of feeling heavy, I'm pleasantly surprised by how hydrated my skin feels. ✓ Pre-makeup application At first glance, it looks so nourishing that I thought it might cause pilling, but it actually improved makeup adherence significantly. It even provides better adherence than Innisfree's fermented oil. ✓ One pump is enough for the whole face Usually, when using serums like this, I pump three times - once for each cheek and once for the forehead. With this product, one pump is sufficient. It absorbs so well into my skin that I wondered if I needed two pumps, but one pump is enough to moisturize the entire face thoroughly, though this may vary for individuals. ✗ The scent... The fragrance is really something mothers would use. Oh, it's quite an old-fashioned type of scent. Not my preference at all. I suspect the target audience might be those in their 30s to 40s... You can see the product has separate layers, so make sure to shake it well before use. If you notice your makeup pilling, try adjusting the amount you use. Everyone has their ideal amount, and once you find yours, you'll see how well your makeup adheres to your skin! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 27, 2020
This is a review from The Hwahae Testers: 1. Texture It's a refreshing serum with a fluid consistency. Due to its liquid form, it absorbs quickly and leaves a non-sticky, moisturizing finish with a glow. However, it doesn't feel heavy or suffocating on the skin. 2. Scent The fragrance is powdery, reminiscent of something between Neutrogena body emulsion and Johnson's baby lotion. It might be polarizing, but personally, I liked it! 3. Bottle opening I appreciated the elongated nozzle, which allows for direct application to the face. 1. Absorption It absorbs so quickly that I wasn't sure if it was being absorbed by my face or my hands! I felt like I might be wasting product, so I pump it directly onto my face and apply using only my index and middle fingers. When I have extra time, I mainly use a galvanic device. 2. Irritation When I used a small amount (2 pumps for forehead and cheeks combined), it seemed fine. But when I applied more and slept with it on, I woke up with blemishes that looked like small blisters in various areas. 3. Ingredients The irritation I experienced seems likely related to some of the ingredients... Because of this, I'm hesitant about repurchasing or recommending it. When applying this as a base before makeup, keep your skincare routine light and use a semi-matte or matte sunscreen. Skip the face oil, otherwise your makeup might separate, pill, or look greasy.
