While it might take a bit longer to absorb compared to chemical sunscreens, I love that it doesn't make my skin feel parched. It's so comfortable that I can even apply it under makeup without any issues.
ConsThe most disappointing aspect is the strong, typical sunscreen scent it has.

The texture is typical of a sun cream, but it absorbs well without feeling greasy. There's no white cast, and it doesn't pill when applying other products on top, which is great. With high SPF and PA+ ratings, it seems to last from morning until you remove it in the evening. It's been challenging to find a mineral sunscreen with good absorption and no white cast, and I've been searching for a sunscreen to use before makeup. While I've encountered some products that stung my eyes before, this one doesn't irritate at all. It's a great product for daily use, even if you're only wearing sunscreen.
ConsThe fragrance is quite strong (you might call it a 'feminine cosmetic scent'). If you apply too much at once, it can pill or temporarily appear white, so it's best to apply in small amounts. It's not completely transfer-proof, so if you wear a mask all day, you might need to reapply once or twice, especially where the mask touches your face. The lack of tone-up effect could be a pro or con depending on your preference. There's also a very slight shine, so if you're expecting a completely matte finish, you might be disappointed.
TipInstead of applying a lot at once, use appropriate amounts and spread it evenly. This way, it absorbs well and won't cause your makeup to pill.

Texture The consistency is just right - not too runny and easy to apply. It spreads smoothly without irritation. It leaves the skin moisturized, creating a perfect canvas for foundation. (When sunscreen is too dry, foundation tends to sit on top of the skin instead of blending into pores) 2. Minimal white cast It doesn't leave a white residue, just a slight brightening effect. The brightening effect doesn't last very long. 3. No blemishes Sometimes products I buy thinking they won't cause blemishes based on the ingredients still do... Fortunately, this one doesn't! It actually seems to have improved my skin condition.
Cons1. Scent This might be hit or miss for people. It has a floral scent, but personally I prefer the natural mix of floral and grassy scents you get at a flower market. This one smells a bit artificial, which I didn't like. If there are plans for a reformulation, I think unscented would be better. 2. Foundation clumping and pilling in oily areas like sides of the nose When I first wrote my review, I thought there was no pilling and wrote that it was good... But when my skin gets very oily, pilling does occur (see photo). This happens on oily areas like the sides of the nose and chin. It's not just this mineral sunscreen, but other mineral sunscreens do this too. Seems like all mineral sunscreens have this issue... It should be fine for those who don't have extremely oily skin! Anyway... that's why I'm giving it 3 stars. Other than that, there aren't really any cons? It's a bit pricey, but given the product quality, I don't think it's overpriced when bought on sale.
TipYou probably all know this, but just in case~~ Sunscreen should be applied 30 minutes before going outside.

The best part is that thanks to Hwahae's special deals, the price was incredibly affordable. Except for the fragrance, it mostly contains gentle ingredients with mineral filters. Also, compared to other mineral sunscreens, I liked that it wasn't stiff when applying.
Cons1. The fragrance. I usually don't buy products with added fragrances, but I knew this one had it. Still, the reviews were so good that I decided to give it a try. However, it smells like old-fashioned cosmetics that grandmothers used to wear. I wish it had a fresh or cool scent instead of this outdated fragrance. 2. When applying the recommended amount of sunscreen (about the size of a 500 won coin) in multiple layers, it doesn't fully absorb and sits on top of the skin. If I apply less, I worry it won't be effective, but if I use the correct amount, it leaves white streaks (not white cast, but visible application marks because it doesn't absorb). It's frustrating. With other sunscreens, if you apply the same amount in layers and gently massage it, it eventually absorbs, but not with this one.

This one, however, applies with a nice hydrating feel and doesn't leave any stickiness, making it great for applying cushion or foundation over. • Smooth application It spreads easily without any tugging, which I really appreciate. • Brightening without excessive white cast While it doesn't leave a stark white cast, it does give a brightening effect. The slight whiteness fades after a short while, so even those who dislike white casts should be satisfied! • No heavy feeling Some hydrating products can feel heavy on the skin, but this one has a lightweight finish which I really love. The Hwahae Testers would approve!
ConsThe scent is fresh at first, but later it develops a slight medicinal smell, which was a bit disappointing. I might be extra sensitive to fragrances though! It's not overpowering once you get used to it, so I'm just mentioning it as a minor drawback.

First off, I love the sleek design of the packaging. It's reassuring to use a mineral sunscreen that I can trust. The texture is just right - not too thick or thin, making it absorb well. It's gentle enough for daily use without causing any blemishes. As someone who prefers sunscreens without a white cast, I'm really impressed that this one provides true sun protection without leaving any residue. Lastly, I appreciate that I can apply it around my eyes without any irritation, allowing me to confidently use it all over my face.
ConsThe scent is a bit disappointing. It reminds me of my mother's cosmetics. Also, I'm not sure if it's due to my skin texture, but it seems to emphasize the appearance of sebaceous filaments on my nose. It's as if it slightly accentuates the blackheads on my nose... Apart from these two points, I'm quite satisfied!

In contrast, Derma Relief has such gentle ingredients that I didn't experience any blemishes at all. Since my top priority when choosing cosmetics is whether they cause blemishes, I give it 5 stars on this point! ✔ Texture ⭐️⭐️⭐️ It applies smoothly like an emulsion. However, it absorbs rather slowly, so I spread it widely and generously. Compared to my previous sunscreen that absorbed instantly with just a quick rub, this one's absorption is a bit slower. If my previous one felt like an emulsion, Derma Relief feels more like a hydrating cream. I recommend applying a small amount! ✔ White Cast ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I barely noticed any white cast. Personally, I really like it. It truly feels like an emulsion. Highly recommended for those who dislike white cast!
Cons✔ Scent ⭐️⭐️ As I'm quite sensitive to fragrances, this aspect was disappointing. The artificial scent... to me, it smelled similar to sweet tangerines. Because of the fragrance, I found myself not reaching for it often.

It's very seasonal, feeling quite dry in winter and becoming typically oily in summer. Moreover, I have sensitive skin prone to blemishes and small bumps depending on cosmetic ingredients. ud83dudd3aTexture While the original Cell Fusion C Laser Sunscreen had a thick texture, the Derma Relief Suncream has a slightly yellow tint and applies like a moisturizing emulsion. With a balance of oil and moisture, it's very hydrating and absorbs well, making it great for daily use before makeup without a primer. ud83dudd3aImmediate feel and longevity Right after application, it feels very hydrating and light! There's no white cast, no floating or pilling, and it seems to melt into the skin, resulting in good staying power and minimal transfer to masks! However, I did notice some oiliness coming through in the afternoon. ud83dudd3aSkin irritation My skin typically breaks out the next morning if I sleep with a mask on or without cleansing. However, there was a time I fell asleep without cleansing after applying this product, and perhaps due to its gentle ingredients, I didn't experience any blemishes... I was so grateful. ud83dudd3aPersonal highlight I really dislike when sunscreen leaves yellow stains on my mask after wearing it. But this product adheres so well to the skin, forming a kind of protective layer, that there's barely any transfer. I absolutely love this aspect!! I'd continue using it for this benefit alone :)
Consud83dudd3bScent For me, Cell Fusion C products have a rather strong scent... To describe it, it's like a 'I just put on cosmetics!!!' kind of smell. It's also somewhat powdery. With mask-wearing these days, the scent becomes more noticeable, so I've listed it as a drawback. ud83dudd3bPrice This aspect might vary from person to person... but I find it hard to purchase easily. While the product performance is good, the price point is high, so I might be tempted by products with similar effectiveness but lower prices! ud83dudd3bMinimal brightening effect With the recent trend of going foundation-free, many people want a natural tone correction and healthy-looking skin. However, it's difficult to expect such effects from this product, which I found slightly disappointing personally.
TipWhile it may vary depending on skin type... since I become extremely oily in summer, the rich texture might be a bit much. I think it would be good to finish with some oil-absorbing sheets or powder after application!

When I saw on Hwahae that there was a sunscreen perfect for sensitive skin like mine, I immediately applied to be part of The Hwahae Testers for 'CELL FUSION C Derma Relief Sun Screen'! This review is based on using the product for about a week! The absorption is excellent! It has a cream-like texture that applies moisturizing while leaving a fresh finish. I usually hate sunscreens with a rich feel, but this one applies moisturizing without feeling greasy and adheres well to the skin with a fresh sensation! I loved that its good spreadability allowed me to cover a large area with just a small amount. The finish is great! As mentioned earlier, it has a moisturizing application with a fresh finish! It adheres really well to the skin and doesn't feel sticky at all. It felt like the sunscreen was clinging perfectly to my face! It has a brightening effect. While not dramatically brightening, it naturally evens out the skin tone to a degree. After applying, I felt like my skin looked more beautiful as it appeared more refined. The ingredients are gentle and didn't burden my sensitive skin. It has skin-friendly ingredients! My skin felt comfortable without any itching or redness, and I didn't experience any new blemishes.
ConsIt's on the expensive side. If I hadn't been part of The Hwahae Testers, I probably wouldn't have been able to try it. However, it does seem to be worth the price... It contains fragrance. The sunscreen has a scent! It has that distinctive cosmetic smell that we've all encountered at some point! Makeup tends to separate when applied over this sunscreen. Every time I use this sunscreen, my makeup keeps separating. I use a matte base, so I wonder if they're just not compatible?
TipSince this product absorbs well, it's good to spread a small amount over a wide area! It's a bit pricey, so this helps it last longer too!

As someone with combination dehydrated super sensitive skin who's always on the hunt for the perfect skincare, these ingredients are incredibly important. While it may not be the holy grail, it's definitely earned its place on my vanity until I find my ultimate sunscreen. There's only one out of 20 cautionary ingredients, and it's the only one I can overlook - fragrance. No PEGs, and thankfully no stearic acid (my arch-nemesis). I appreciate the concise ingredient list too. 2. The application is smooth, like an emulsion. It's not particularly refreshing or intensely hydrating, but it seems to prevent deep dryness. Compared to the same brand's Laser Sunscreen, which was light and almost undetectable, the Derma Relief definitely feels like you've applied sunscreen. However, there's no itching or signs of potential blemishes, which is reassuring. 3. It works well with base makeup, satisfying my combination dehydrated sensitive skin standards. With the Laser Sunscreen, I had to layer on more skincare to combat dryness. But with Derma Relief, I can stick to my usual routine - skincare, sunscreen, foundation - without any issues of dryness or oiliness. It's just right. Summary: - No PEGs, no stearic acid, short ingredient list. I consider the formulation to be good. - Absorbs well, doesn't interfere with subsequent base makeup, and doesn't dry out the skin. - If you liked the Laser Sunscreen but found it slightly drying, you'll likely be very satisfied with this product. - I'll probably keep using this until I find a better alternative.
ConsThe fragrance... It's the first time I've encountered such a noticeable scent from the one cautionary ingredient. Interestingly, it has this whisper of 'This is a derma product' (hushed tones). It's not an overwhelming medicinal smell, but more like a subtle reminder that you've applied something beneficial for your skin. It's only slightly noticeable when wearing a mask with just the sunscreen on, but it disappears once you apply makeup. So it's not really a drawback.
TipThe product absorbs so well that anyone can apply it easily without any special tips. However, since it is a sunscreen, it doesn't vanish instantly. Take a moment to let it meld with your skin. I recommend using a sponge to spread it over large areas first, then go over the edges to blend seamlessly. (In the photo, the top swatch is the Laser Sunscreen, and the bottom is the Derma Relief. Of course, once applied, it's hard to tell the difference. There's no visible difference in the photo, but I included it anyway.)
