Whitening, pores, and firmness - three effects in one! If you're looking for instant brightening, I recommend Eucerin AOX Essence. After cleansing, I skip toner and apply it directly. The AHA ingredient naturally removes dead skin cells, and hyaluronic acid absorbs well to provide hydration. The vitamin C derivative seems to brighten the skin tone, and I experienced an immediate whitening effect! It's like... turning on a light for your skin. Plus, when used as night care after a day of heavy sun exposure, I felt a slight tingling in some areas. Apparently, this sensation is part of the process of inhibiting melanin production. Anyway, it's great for skin brightening! It reduces dark spots and freckles, and even helps prevent them. For me, it's the best essence. I just wish the price would come down a bit. This is definitely a product I stock up on during Olive Young sales! While this essence is sufficient in the current weather, it might not provide enough moisture during the harsh winter months. Due to its high vitamin C content, it may be a bit irritating for sensitive skin types. I recommend patch testing before use. Some say the denatured alcohol scent is strong, but I actually like the citrusy fragrance. For me, this product is perfect in every way except for the price. - Hwahae UserDry SkinMay 15, 2024
I have concerns about wrinkles and extremely dry skin. The texture is like a runny nose - not too watery, but not too thick either! It's a slightly heavier serum, so you can feel a good amount of moisture when applied. The best part about using this product is its effect on pores! I'm not sure if it's solely because of this or a combination of factors, but I think this product plays a role. My pores used to be quite large, to the point where I needed a pore primer for makeup. Now, they've shrunk so much that I can apply makeup without a primer - I'm absolutely thrilled with this improvement! The scent is the most disappointing aspect. It has an artificial cosmetic fragrance that might be uncomfortable for those sensitive to smells. If you have oily skin, you might find this too heavy for summer use! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinMar 14, 2022
I'm using Eucerin for the first time and I'm quite pleased with it. One of the best features is the dropper. At first, I found it unusual and took some getting used to, but as I continued using it, I realized it dispenses just the right amount for a single application, which is actually quite convenient. After applying, it leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated, which I love. For me, it doesn't feel sticky, but rather provides the right level of moisture and absorbs well into my skin. While the ingredients list could be improved, I'm relieved that it hasn't caused any blemishes. It offers decent hydration, which is great, but if you have dry skin, you might need to follow up with a cream after use. The fragrance is quite strong. Personally, I like it, but if you're not a fan of artificial scents, it might be quite bothersome. Also, considering the amount you get, it's a bit on the pricey side. For these reasons, I'm not sure if I'll repurchase it. - Hwahae UserDry SkinJun 13, 2021
Olive Young recommended a few hyaluronic acid products for my dry skin that needed hydration, so I bought one of them. Using the dropper, I apply a few drops and pat it in to absorb. It has a sticky consistency that makes your palms and skin stick together momentarily. It absorbs well, and once it's absorbed, even my hair doesn't stick to my face. As someone with dry skin, I usually experience flaking even in summer, but after using this, the flaking seems to have disappeared. When I tested the sample, I was wearing a mask so I didn't notice, but when I applied it to my face, the fragrance was so strong it made my nose burn. It's an extremely artificial scent that gave me a slight headache until I got used to it. I was very surprised as I've never used a skincare product with such an overpowering scent before. If I had known about this scent, I wouldn't have purchased it regardless of how effective the product is - that's how off-putting the fragrance is. On the second day, I noticed some small bumps appearing all over my face, though I'm not sure if it's because of this product. I plan to use it for a few more days, but I have no intention of repurchasing. I recommend smelling the product before purchasing to see if you can tolerate the fragrance. - Hwahae UserDry SkinJan 20, 2021
As someone who's tried over 70 different skincare brands, I'm always excited to test new products. I was lucky enough to be selected by The Hwahae Testers to use this product for two full weeks before writing this review. This is my fourth hyaluronic acid essence, and I was using a tiny bottle of GE7 right before winning the Eucerin AOX. The difference in texture is night and day. Let me share the standout benefits I've personally experienced. While I haven't seen dramatic results from functional cosmetics before, this product definitely improved my skin texture and elasticity. These positive effects are significant enough to outweigh the drawbacks I'll mention later. It provides more immediate and noticeable results than most eye creams, firming creams, or essences from other brands. My dull skin that usually doesn't take makeup well has visibly improved and looks more even. If a product works this well, it's hard to resist buying it. However, I can't say it has whitening effects (diet is the best way to improve skin tone anyway), and it doesn't quite match the results of a dermatologist's 'water glow' injection (which is understandable, as that's injected directly into the dermis). As someone with dry and sensitive skin, I only experienced slight tingling in small areas twice during the two-week period, with no other issues. I've recently been using Skinfood Caviar Essence, Dr. Jart+ Cream, Witch's Pouch Eye Cream, and five other skincare products without seeing much effect. In contrast, Eucerin AOX showed results in just 4-5 days. The dropper is uniquely designed - you press the top to dispense a precise amount, which feels quite luxurious. In conclusion, I'm not a Eucerin employee, I promise! But I think it's worth trying at least once. The biggest drawback is the fragrance. It's not just a matter of containing potentially harmful fragrance ingredients - the scent is overwhelmingly strong. While most Korean cosmetics these days have minimal or no fragrance, this German product has an intense artificial smell that hits you as soon as you use it. It's even stronger than regular shampoo, almost like nail polish remover. It might be difficult to use if you have children or pets around. The second drawback is the texture. As someone with extremely dry skin, I enjoy rich products and often use oils. However, others might find the initial sticky feeling off-putting. It does settle to a powdery finish after 3-5 minutes, but it's the stickiest hyaluronic acid product I've ever used. That said, this thickness helps create a stronger protective barrier and smooths skin texture. As someone with dry skin who dislikes light textures, I'm very satisfied with this. This essence pairs well with other emulsions and toners. I've tested it with various products in my collection, and found it works particularly well with propolis toner. It enhances hydration, adds a glow, and improves lasting power. Most importantly, the stickiness disappears quickly as it absorbs, leaving skin moisturized. My ideal routine is using a galactomyces toner to refine skin texture, followed by the Eucerin AOX essence, then propolis toner. I finish with a generous layer of cream. This combination keeps my skin plump and hydrated for at least 20 hours. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinJan 18, 2021
This is a review from The Hwahae Testers. Being a liquid, it absorbs well. As it's from Eucerin, I had high expectations, but this is the only positive aspect I found. The scent is overwhelmingly strong! It's not exactly unpleasant, but similar to the Uriage lip balm scent. However, it's so intense that it becomes nauseating. Honestly, due to the fragrance, I couldn't use it much, so I'm unsure about any skin improvements. Also, it feels extremely sticky after application. This does improve after some time, but it's very sticky initially. It comes with a dropper, but the bottle cap is short, making it difficult to grip and squeeze with your hand. I hope this aspect can be improved. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJan 18, 2021
I highly recommend this because it's truly amazing!! I've tried 8 different serums so far, but this is the first one that's been this good... Absorption: It has a sticky, mucus-like texture. Apply half a dropper to each area of your face and gently massage. As you pat it in to absorb, it adheres to the skin with a bouncy feel, replenishing moisture! Hydration: As the name suggests with 'hyaluronic', it's packed with hydration rather than oil. It seems to provide excellent moisture for skin types lacking hydration! Packaging: The opaque container prevents you from seeing the product inside. Unlike other brand's ampoules, the dropper has a click mechanism similar to a ballpoint pen. I found this made it easier to control the amount and use up every last drop. 1. The volume seems small for the price... Though I'd still probably buy it. 2. The fragrance in the ingredients might be polarizing. When I first tried it, the scent made me question the quality of the cosmetic ingredients. (It smells just like men's aftershave..) 3. The opaque packaging makes it feel a bit cheap for the price point! I wish it was transparent... For combination dehydrated skin, first spritz on a light mist to prep the skin. Then apply half a dropper of this ampoule to your forehead and each cheek, gently spreading it. Since it's winter, follow up with a rich moisturizing cream in the same areas to lock in the hydration. This creates a really solid skincare routine - you won't need anything else as your skin will feel deeply hydrated! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJan 17, 2021
In these times when wearing a mask is essential, my sensitive skin had been experiencing severe blemishes around the chin area. I was selected for the Hwahae Testers program and used this product for about two weeks. I'm pleased to say that I've noticed fewer breakouts, and my skin's sensitivity and dullness have significantly improved! I really like it! The lightweight texture allows the product to absorb quickly into the skin. You might feel a slight stickiness immediately after application, but it dissipates quickly, which is great. Recently, even my usual products sometimes felt uncomfortable due to mask-wearing, but this one felt less suffocating. Unless my skin was extremely sensitive that day, I didn't experience any tingling or discomfort after using the product. Personally, I've enjoyed using it for about two weeks. Also, it comes with a dropper, and one press releases about 1/3 of the dropper's content. I used it in two separate applications and I'm satisfied with that. As someone sensitive to fragrances, I found the initial scent a bit disappointing. It had an artificial or typical 'cosmetic' smell, which was slightly off-putting. While I appreciate the dropper design, it's a bit challenging to use. It's easy to press initially, but it becomes difficult to squeeze when you're trying to apply it directly to your face. Although I received this through a giveaway event, I find the price to be on the higher side. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJan 15, 2021
This is my honest review after being selected for the Hwahae Testers program :) I usually prefer lightweight products, so when I first applied this, it felt a bit heavy and sticky. But only until it absorbed! A few seconds after application, it absorbs completely and the stickiness disappears. After absorption, my face even has a slight glow! I'm not a fan of sticky products and rarely use sheet masks, but this exceeded my expectations^^ The scent... it's like an old man's aftershave... not my cup of tea, haha! - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJan 14, 2021
First off, the dropper applicator is a plus. The serum is clear and absorbs well. The fragrance is my cup of tea... The dropper feels a bit stiff when pressing. Once applied all over, it feels sticky. While I love the scent, it might be polarizing. As for the fragrance, well... it's reminiscent of an expensive perfume worn by a wealthy lady. Recommended if you're into sophisticated, luxurious scents (though it's not actually a perfume).
