Applying it day and night keeps the skin nicely hydrated. Hwahae Trial Reviewer seems to be a good choice for use during seasonal changes.
ConsIt does have a distinctive scent, but that's the natural aroma of the unrefined oil, so it's not necessarily a bad thing. When applied around the eyes, it can cause stinging, so you'll need to wipe it away with a cotton swab. In cold weather, the coconut oil can solidify into granules, so you'll need to melt it in lukewarm water. Even when discounted, it's still relatively expensive.

After wearing a mask, my face becomes bumpy and uneven. Even the slightest rubbing or irritation causes redness, and in dry environments, it becomes itchy and spreads around when touched. While I don't get acne, my skin is very finicky. Since the COVID-19 outbreak, I've had to wear masks constantly, making my face extremely sensitive. Applying anything would cause breakouts... But using Laneige Bio-Essence Oil and Laneige Moisture Cream has helped improve my skin. I usually get reactions from using oils, but the Laneige Bio-Essence Oil has reduced redness and breakouts. I'm very satisfied with the results.
ConsThe only downside is that when I apply it near my eyes, it stings a bit. I try to avoid applying it too close to my eyes as much as possible.
TipOn dry, sensitive, and tired skin days, using the Laneige Moisture Cream together is just perfect!

Not only did it not dry up by morning, but my skin also felt healthier when I washed my face in the morning.ใ ใ Definitely, my makeup applies better the next day after using this oil.๐ง๐ปโโ๏ธ I've almost used it up, but I plan to repurchase it.ใ ใ ๐ณ
Cons๐ The scent is strong. While the scent itself isn't something I dislike, it's just so distinctive that the smell lingers all day long.ใ ใ The oil is greenish in color, but it becomes colorless when applied, so it's the scent that bothers me the most, not being able to use it in the morning. ๐ It stings and makes my eyes water if it gets in them.... I guess it's the same with other cosmetics, but on the days I accidentally applied a bit too much, my eyes kept watering, and I had to wipe them off before going to bed.๐ฅฒ
TipApply it on top of your night cream before bed! Not recommended to mix it with your foundation.

Even in the winter, if I use a heavily moisturizing cream, it may feel greasy at first, but later on, I tend to get some clogged pores. The Rang Bio oil was something I originally bought to use only in the winter, but I found that by applying it with my palms to control the amount, it can also work for my oily skin. The oil has a good amount of nourishment without feeling overly greasy. I had a positive experience using another tamanu oil for scar care before, so I decided to try this Rang oil as well, even though I don't currently have any pressing skin concerns.
ConsWhile I don't have dry skin per se, I do find the moisturizing power to be slightly lacking at times... I usually apply 4-5 drops onto my palms, rub them together, and then press it into my face. But in the dead of winter, I do feel like it's just a tad bit insufficient. What's more, when I apply it separately to my cheeks and forehead (rather than covering my whole eye area), over time it seems to get into my eyes, causing them to become quite painful and watery. I had originally purchased it thinking it could be a multi-purpose base, but I'm hesitant to use it as a mist-like spray, as I'm worried it will just irritate my eyes even more. This eye issue is a real concern for me, so I'll likely just use up what I have this winter, and then reconsider whether to repurchase or look for something else.

Cons1. Stinging sensation when applied When I applied it, my eyes felt stinging, and I even asked my husband who was using it with me, and he said his eyes felt stinging too. Even though I tried to avoid the eye area, it still stung, so I ended up stopping use. 2. Fragrance The fragrance has a traditional herbal scent, which may be divisive.

It has become my favorite oil. It's not too heavy and absorbs into my face instantly. It pairs well with any cream I use, so I think I'll repurchase it.
ConsThe scent is a bit strong, but I'm okay with it since it's a natural (herbal) smell. I know there are people who dislike it. And if you apply it around the eyes, it keeps making your eyes water.ใ ใ There's eye irritation. It's best if you don't apply it around the eyes!
TipIt pairs amazingly well with the Laneige cream. If you mix a couple of drops with the cream and apply it, it's the best for calming the face.

(Skin type: dry/sensitive + thin skin with redness) (Occasionally suffer from folliculitis due to stress and weakened immunity) To sum it up, This is one of the few reviews on Hwahae that I gave a full 5-star rating โจ + Fragrance: The most common talk about tamanu oil is its fragrance, and there are quite a few expressions that make you want to plug your nose just by reading them; This was my first experience with tamanu oil, and it was the Rangbio oil from Rangbell that made me a huge fan of tamanu oil :) I absolutely loved the fragrance! ๐๐ป I recently also tried the tamanu oil from Dr. Olga, but even though it's also tamanu oil, the fragrance was quite different, likely due to the blending. The long introduction was to say that I can describe the fragrance of the Rangbell tamanu oil as similar to the herb 'angelica' among Korean herbs and greens. If you're worried about the fragrance, you can try smelling angelica at the grocery store to get a sense of it beforehand. + Great for hydration, also good for troubled skin: During the dry winter when I didn't have any breakouts, I would mix a few drops of the Rangbio oil into the Estrala 365 cream as the final step, and it was incredibly helpful for maintaining skin hydration and balance. My uneven skin tone became more even, and my skin would feel deeply hydrated even after waking up. It felt like my skin was becoming healthier. Personally, I liked using the oil on its own, but I found it worked even better when mixed into a cream. Then in the spring, I struggled with folliculitis (caused by mask-wearing, stress, and weakened immunity) on my chin area. This was the only oil I could use even with the skin troubles, as it has anti-inflammatory properties. It didn't worsen the breakouts, but it also didn't have a significant calming effect. In summary, this is an oil with a nice medium density that is really helpful for skin hydration and skin barrier, and can even be used on troubled skin.
ConsTwo minor downsides, though they are quite insignificant compared to how much I enjoyed the product ^^ - Due to the anti-inflammatory ingredients, it stings a lot if it gets in your eyes: I didn't notice this when using the dropper, but when I mixed it into a mist and sprayed it, I experienced this. +_+ Be very careful, as even a little bit getting in your eyes will sting a lot. - Crystalline particles form, and even as the weather warms up, the crystals that have already formed on the inside of the bottle don't melt even when shaken. Fortunately, they don't come out through the dropper, but it was a bit disappointing that I couldn't use it as cleanly.
TipThe brand's website stated that this product can be used both day and night, but from searching online, I've seen mentions that tamanu oil isn't completely non-photosensitizing, but rather has a lower level of photosensitivity, so it's generally recommended to use it at night. (I'm also curious to know the definitive facts on this ๐ค) I've used this generously during the day as well, and didn't experience any particular issues. This isn't a pro tip, but just a note that may be helpful for anyone who is concerned about this aspect.

The tightness has disappeared and my skin feels comfortable, which I'm pleased about.
ConsThe downside is that the fragrance is quite strong, and it makes my eyes feel irritated and stinging.

It's effective even for minor blemishes, which is great. My lips are quite dry, but when I apply it to my lips as well, I don't wake up with dry lips in the morning - it's just right. I don't usually wear much makeup, but on the days I need to, mixing this cream with my cushion foundation works really well. It doesn't get cakey or overly dry over time.
ConsThe scent is not great. I guess that's to be expected with a natural oil. ใ ใ I recommend avoiding the eye area. It stings a bit if it gets in your eyes. Since it makes my eyes water, I really suggest staying away from the eye area.
TipI'm mixing it with the Laneige cream, and I actually recommend mixing it with a cream rather than just applying the oil on its own. It seems to absorb better that way. And if you have trouble spots, applying an extra layer of the oil there can be really helpful.
