As someone with sensitive oily skin, I experienced a slight tightness after use, but it wasn't severe. The cleanser left my skin feeling pleasantly clean! No blemishes appeared, so it seems like a good option for light, standalone use on makeup-free days. The pump dispenser made it convenient to use, which is a plus compared to tube packaging. True to its 'gel foam' name, it doesn't produce a lot of lather. This might be a drawback for those who prefer a rich, foamy cleansing experience. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJan 20, 2025
I'd like to review Dr.G's pH-Balanced Cleansing Gel Foam, a hydrating cleanser that considers not only skin type and seasonal factors but also skin condition and barrier health. My skin type is dry, acne-prone, sensitive, and atopic. The pump dispenser is hygienic and dispenses just the right amount for one use, making it convenient. The scent is very mild, which is great. As the name suggests, it has a gel texture that produces fine foam. Despite its appearance, it cleanses thoroughly, which is satisfying. I use it as a second cleanser, final cleanser (to remove impurities or bacteria that touch my face while washing hair), or morning cleanser depending on my skin's daily condition. It's especially useful in the current season. It's been tested to reduce 5 types of harmful skin bacteria (including acne-causing bacteria) by over 90%, making it suitable for my acne-prone skin. The ingredients are great, allowing me to use it with confidence. The 5-biome helps maintain a healthy skin barrier, while the filaggrin complex strengthens and hydrates sensitive skin barriers, leaving my skin moisturized without tightness after cleansing. It's great that I can use it without any adverse reactions despite having sensitive skin. The reason this cleanser remains a go-to among the flood of cosmetics is that it gently and thoroughly cleanses while caring for the skin barrier. I hope it never gets discontinued so I can keep using it. As it's particularly effective as a daily cleanser in the current season, it's hard to find any downsides. Even though it doesn't produce rich lather, the cleansing effectiveness is good, so that's fine. This is a cleanser well-suited for dry and sensitive skin types. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinJul 11, 2024
I found it gentle on the skin and effective at removing dead skin cells, leaving my face feeling smooth and silky. While there weren't any major drawbacks, I noticed that being a gel type, it didn't produce a rich lather, which some might miss. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinJan 21, 2024
I switched from Vichy to Dr.G products for easier purchasing, and I'm pleasantly surprised that I can hardly tell the difference - it's working just as well! The gel formula transforms into a foam when mixed with water. I appreciate that it doesn't create excessive lather, which is a nice bonus. I wish it were fragrance-free instead of having that medicinal scent, which is quite disappointing. Also, I wouldn't recommend this to those looking for a rich, foamy cleansing product. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinMay 30, 2023
I love how it's gentle yet lightweight and leaves my skin feeling hydrated! It doesn't seem to lather up very richly. However, its cleansing effectiveness is undeniable. This product is perfect for double cleansing after using a cleansing oil. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinMar 28, 2023
It's gentle, so no skin blemishes. After cleansing, there's no slippery feeling or tightness. The lather isn't super rich, which makes me wonder if it's cleaning well, but I think that's because it's mildly acidic. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJan 5, 2023
It's gentle and low-irritation, which has helped reduce my blemishes while using it. I love that my skin doesn't feel tight after cleansing. I'll definitely keep using this. As someone with super sensitive skin, I often get breakouts from products with harsh ingredients, but this one is amazing. Highly recommended for those with sensitive skin! The lather isn't as rich as I'd like, and the scent isn't particularly appealing, which is a bit disappointing. For a richer lather, wet your face first, then wash off any oil on your hands with soap before pumping the cleanser and massaging it onto your skin. On days when you're wearing heavier makeup, it's good to double cleanse for best results. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinNov 25, 2022
This is my holy grail product - I'm on my third bottle! It cleanses my skin so refreshingly and gently, without any irritation. I absolutely love how smooth it feels. The best part? No tight feeling after washing, which is fantastic for my skin. There's not really anything I dislike about it. However, if you're someone who prefers a rich, foamy lather, you might find it a bit lacking in that department. It doesn't produce an abundance of bubbles. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinNov 11, 2022
I switched to this cleanser after my dermatologist recommended a low pH cleanser for barrier care, emphasizing the importance of using gentle products. As someone with blemish-prone, sensitive, oily yet dehydrated skin, the biggest advantage is that my face doesn't feel dry or tight after cleansing. Another plus is the pump dispenser, which makes it convenient and easy to control the amount, unlike some tube-type foam cleansers that can be a bit fussy. While it's not mind-blowingly amazing, I think it's a solid choice for those looking for a low pH gel cleanser. Being a gel cleanser, the lather isn't particularly impressive. Even with vigorous effort, you get more of a weak foam rather than a rich lather. Also, it doesn't seem to effectively tackle excess oil, so it leaves me feeling less refreshed than I'd like. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAug 24, 2022
I really liked how gentle it felt and that there was no tightness after cleansing. The pump bottle is a plus, making it cleaner to use compared to tube packaging. Perhaps due to its mildly acidic gel formula, the lather wasn't as rich and the cleansing effectiveness was somewhat lacking, which was a bit disappointing.
