As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I've had my fair share of struggles with sunscreens. Many I've bought ended up unused. Organic filters would cause redness and blemishes on my cheeks, while mineral ones would make my mouth corners itchy or my chin tingle. I'd often end up removing the sunscreen right after applying it. After trying nearly 40 samples and giving up, I noticed dark spots and pigmentation appearing, probably due to increased time outdoors. That's when I decided to search for a better product and found this one. The three best things about it are: 1. Hydration 2. Pink brightening effect 3. No irritation Being a hybrid sunscreen, I was initially hesitant. I had sworn off organic filters and wasn't even considering hybrids. But I decided to test it, and wow... I was amazed that it didn't cause any itching even after an hour. The hydrating formula seems to be the key. Plus, the pink tone-up effect suits my cool complexion perfectly. Only after about 4 hours did I notice some dryness on my cheeks, which tend to be very dry. The application is a breeze - it spreads easily even when applied hastily with fingers, making it perfect for rushed mornings. The downsides are: 1. Amount + Price 2. Coverage 3. Disappointing oil control The quantity is way too small for the price - it feels almost wicked. Also, if used alone without additional hydrating products, even with its moisturizing properties, it can feel dry. On oily areas like the nose and chin, it has poor staying power and less coverage compared to other areas. The coverage is minimal - it's truly just a brightening moisturizer. It only slightly evens out minor imperfections. - sm********Dry SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsMay 30, 2025
The texture was nicely moisturizing, so it absorbed well. After application, it didn't feel too sticky. I have dry and super sensitive skin. Unfortunately, when I applied this sunscreen, my face broke out in red rashes. I wish I had checked Hwahae reviews before buying. Apparently, it contains chemical UV filters that can be irritating for those with sensitive skin. For those with sensitive skin, it's always a good idea to patch test new products and research ingredients thoroughly before use. Physical sunscreens might be a gentler option for sensitive skin types. - dh********Normal SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 29, 2025
It evens out my skin tone with a light, sheer finish, making it perfect to use before applying makeup. The strong, distinctive scent was a bit off-putting for me. The brightening moisturizer works well as a base, but the fragrance might not be for everyone. - ji********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessMay 20, 2025
Skin tone correction is really great. If only it didn't cause breakouts, I think I would have settled on a foundation-free product. I was unsure if it was because of this product, but I confirmed it today. A few days ago, I had my acne extracted at the dermatologist and my skin became smooth, but today after applying it and going around, when I washed my face, I had three cystic acne, one on each cheek and one next to my right eyebrow. The small bumps on my forehead also came back... I've been struggling with the small bumps lately, so I'm not sure if it's definitely because of this product, but since I don't normally get cystic acne, it seems the product had an effect. Those of you who normally get a lot of small bumps or have sensitive skin should be cautious. - me****Combination SkinMay 7, 2025
The color particles are incredibly fine. I think this rosy-tinted sunscreen's color is truly unparalleled among its competitors right now. It has a nice, balanced richness - not overly mineral-based or heavy feeling. If only my skin type were compatible, I'm sure I would have been very satisfied using this product. Unfortunately, after using this, I developed some tiny blemishes. I have super sensitive skin and combination dehydrated skin! My complexion is usually clear, but this product gave me trouble for the first time in a while. It seems to require almost a triple cleanse to remove completely. I did a swatch test on the back of my hand, and even after showering more than 3 times over the course of a day or two, there were still traces of shimmer left behind. - ki*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedApr 30, 2025
I've been using this product exclusively on my days off for 3 years now. Not being used to brightening moisturizers, I initially applied too much and learned my lesson. Now, I apply it in thin layers, letting each absorb before heading out in the morning. It maintains a natural Inner Glow and evens skin tone until the afternoon. I then wipe it off and reapply. As a former sunscreen nomad, I've finally settled on this as my go-to for days off. With thorough skincare, this sunscreen, and lip product, I'm ready for anything. I tried other brightening options for my cool undertone, but they tended to pill. This one keeps me coming back. The quantity is smaller than expected, so it runs out quickly. There's a slight tendency for it to settle into fine lines. Perfect for when you want to go bare-faced but not really bare-faced! It brightens your complexion beautifully without excessive whitening, allowing you to step out on your day off with just this sunscreen and lip product. - ku*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedApr 29, 2025
Natural and vibrant brightening effect The pink base adds vitality to dull skin, making your face look radiant even on makeup-free days. Moisturizing application Works well even for dry skin, keeping it comfortable without tightness all day long. Gentle on sensitive skin Almost fragrance-free and used without any tingling or blemishes. Perfect for super sensitive skin. Lightweight and no pilling Not heavy even with multiple layers, and doesn't pill, making it great as a base substitute. May accentuate pores Due to the nature of brightening products, pores might be slightly emphasized. Recommend using with a primer. Be cautious of wrinkle accentuation If skin is dry, it may settle into fine lines around eyes or nasolabial folds. Make sure to apply a thorough moisturizing base. A comfortable brightening moisturizer with SPF that works well for sensitive and dry skin! Recommended for those who want a light brightening effect and sun protection simultaneously. However, if pores/wrinkles are a concern, it's best to use in conjunction with a primer and hydration. - ra********Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedApr 27, 2025
It's moisturizing and absorbs well! It also provides a slight brightening effect, making it great to use before makeup. The price is a bit high for the amount you get... I'll buy it again when it's on sale! - vl********Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedApr 24, 2025
I have combination dehydrated skin that's sensitive and prone to blemishes. I regularly get Rejuran Skin Booster and Juvéderm treatments at the dermatologist, but I couldn't settle on a basic skincare routine until I tried La Roche-Posay Cicabiplast. When I heard dermatologists use this, I gave it a try and I love it! The ingredients are great, it's moisturizing, and it even brightens my complexion. The color is beautiful too. Although it's marketed for warm tones, it works perfectly for my cool-toned skin as well. The price is a bit... not exactly budget-friendly? But considering the quality ingredients, I guess it's worth it. - cy*******Combination SkinRecommendedApr 17, 2025
It has just the right amount of hydration and a subtle brightening effect. The natural-looking complexion enhancement is perfect for going foundation-free in the hot summer months. The only downside is that the product volume is a bit small. Other than that, I have no complaints. I typically apply a thin layer of sunscreen as a base, then follow up with this product on top.
