For a sunscreen, it has impressive coverage, making it perfect for a foundation-free look. Its high adherence means that when applied before foundation, it helps the makeup stick better and last longer. The color is a bit disappointing. When used alone, it can make the skin appear slightly darker than desired. Try mixing it with your foundation or use it as a base layer. - ya********Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsMay 23, 2025
Skin type: Oily I decided to try this sunscreen after hearing it was good for a foundation-free look. However, the scent was really not to my liking... It reminded me of the musty smell of old makeup brushes. When applied to the face, it tends to pill and separate easily. The biggest issue is how easily it transfers - even the slightest touch leaves a noticeable residue. The color has a yellowish coral or ivory tint to it. I've barely used half the product, but I doubt I'll be reaching for it again. As mentioned above, I found the overall experience disappointing in pretty much every aspect. - js*******Combination SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesRednessRecommendedMay 23, 2025
As someone who's all about that foundation-free life, I have to say this sunscreen has the best coverage among all the foundation-free options I've tried! It's not drying at all, and it really does feel suitable for all skin types, just like they claim on the official website. Compared to regular foundation, the shade is a bit darker than what's shown on the website, more like a shade 22. It worked well for me since I'm a 22.5, but it might be too dark for those who usually go for shade 21. The texture is quite thick, so I always apply it with a puff. It's an absolute must-have in my routine! - vq********Combination SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedMay 20, 2025
I tried this out on my trip to Vietnam, and it really packed a punch! I was a bit hesitant at first because my skin was acting up before the trip, and I was worried using a new sunscreen might make it worse. But wow, was I pleasantly surprised! The texture feels more like a foundation than a typical sunscreen. I used shade 24, which was a tad light for me (I'd recommend darker 21 or 22, or lighter 23), but it still did a great job covering blemishes and dark circles. Despite some reviews saying it doesn't blend well with fingers, I found it adhered perfectly and didn't look patchy at all. Even when I had to wipe off sweat and reapply, it didn't cake up. Best of all, I didn't experience any new blemishes while using it! It kept my skin hydrated, didn't cause any darkening, and actually protected me from the sun. I absolutely loved it! Everyone should give this a try. As hydrating as it was, it did make my skin a bit oily. Using a puff to apply made it look patchy, and even with powder, it still didn't sit well on my cheeks (though that area tends to be problematic for me anyway). Other than these issues, I can't really think of any major downsides. Word of caution: I tried layering a cushion foundation over this when I got back from Vietnam, and my already troubled skin got even worse! Don't make the same mistake I did. You can definitely rock the no-foundation look with just this product! - ki**********Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMay 13, 2025
This is a product I always stock up on during Olive Young's 1+1 sales. I highly recommend it for those who prefer a foundation-free, light makeup look. Even though I have visible pores, this doesn't feel heavy and creates a natural finish that I love. While there's some transfer when it's on your hands, that's unavoidable unless it's a cushion product. Personally, I use this in the morning and switch to a cushion product for touch-ups at lunchtime. - fg********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 13, 2025
Here's my review after 8 months of use! I have combination dehydrated skin with redness and occasional blemishes. I sweat a lot, so I don't like wearing foundation in summer, but using just sunscreen feels too plain. That's why I tried this product that combines both. It brightens my complexion naturally without looking cakey! Plus, it provides great sun protection, and being a mineral sunscreen, it's gentle on the skin, which I really appreciate. Despite being a mineral sunscreen, it's inconvenient that I need to double cleanse. The texture isn't very smooth when applying, so there's a bit of irritation. - lc*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedMay 12, 2025
Coverage True to its name, this sunscreen offers quite good coverage. I recommend it for workouts or days when you want to go foundation-free. It covers well on its own, so if you apply foundation or cushion on top, your skin might look too heavy. I suggest using this sunscreen alone for the best results. Since it has good coverage, it tends to be a bit matte, which might feel dry for those with dry skin! You need to apply it over a solid skincare base, otherwise it can cake up or emphasize pores. Scent To be honest, the scent is not great... It has a strong, artificial cosmetic fragrance, so I wouldn't recommend it for those sensitive to scents. - to****RecommendedMay 7, 2025
It brightens up my complexion nicely and seems quite usable. However, it's a bit drying. Due to its drying effect, it can make the skin look slightly patchy, emphasize dead skin cells, and cause a bit of darkening. - sj******Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedMay 7, 2025
As expected from a cover sunscreen, it's great for evening out complexion and concealing blemishes. It's non-irritating and perfect as a foundation-free option. I highly recommend it if you prefer a matte finish. It can be slightly drying, so make sure to layer your skincare products well underneath. - pd*****Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 5, 2025
I'm impressed with Dewytree! The ingredients are top-notch, going beyond the basics. The foundation is great, and the brightening moisturizer is on point. The downside? Well, isn't it always the price for everyone? If it were under $10, I'd buy it all in a heartbeat.
