The perfect blend of a silky finish and deep hydration! I was a skincare nomad, but I've finally found my holy grail. It's absolutely fantastic for acne-prone skin. For those with dry skin, you might need a cream in addition to the toner and emulsion! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinAug 31, 2021
I'm not entirely sure about my skin type, but I think I have combination dehydrated skin or oily skin. I also have noticeable blemishes, acne scars, and large pores. When I used this product, unlike other toners, it made my face feel refreshingly matte. I had a strong feeling that it wasn't providing deep hydration to my skin. Even after applying the toner, my skin still felt somewhat dry, so I felt like I needed to layer something else on top. Using this product alone seems to irritate my skin. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAcne SkinJul 25, 2021
I love that powdery-soft feeling, and this product delivers exactly that. It makes my skin feel velvety smooth right after application. The scent is also lovely. I wouldn't recommend this for dry skin types... It lacks hydration, which might lead to a feeling of skin tightness or even cracking. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinMay 1, 2021
This is a review from The Hwahae Testers. My skin type: oily T-zone, dry U-zone, with lots of whiteheads on the chin and blackheads on the nose. 1. Scent Perhaps due to my sinus issues, it seemed almost unscented to me. 2. Hydration After washing my face, I gave the bottle a good shake (which, by the way, felt oddly stress-relieving) and applied it with a cotton pad. The finish was pleasantly matte, and even with just this product, I didn't feel any dryness while drying my hair. 3. Oil Control Normally, my nose gets oily overnight, but when using this product before bed, there's noticeably less shine in the morning. I've rarely been satisfied with oil control products, but this one seems to manage sebum well. Overall, I'm quite pleased with it. 1. Blemishes When I first started using the product, my face broke out after about three days. I wasn't sure if it was due to the product or my pollen allergy, so I stopped using it. After my skin calmed down, I restarted, but now I only apply it to my nose and chin where I have excess oil production. Limiting it to these areas prevented further breakouts. 2. Dispensing The bottle is quite rigid, making it a bit challenging to get the product onto a cotton pad. Other than that, I didn't notice any drawbacks. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 30, 2021
My skin type: Combination + blemish-prone + sensitive - the trifecta! Absorbs quickly: It's fully absorbed after about 30 seconds of gentle patting. Matte finish, hydrated inside: Feels matte on the surface but hydrated underneath. Not super hydrating, but perfect for summer use. For spring, it's not drying, but maybe not necessary. Less sebum the next day: Noticed less oil in the T-zone than usual. However, this effect was minimal when followed with a rich cream (which makes sense, I suppose). Nearly fragrance-free, not bothersome: There's a very faint powdery scent, but it's extremely subtle. Slight powdery residue on skin: Not majorly bothersome, but the powder doesn't seem to fully absorb, leaving a slightly uncomfortable feeling. No noticeable soothing effect: Felt a tiny tingle when applying. While it doesn't seem to cause more blemishes, I'm not sure if it actually soothes the skin either. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinApr 30, 2021
Here's my review as one of The Hwahae Testers: 🌼 First Impressions and Features 🌼 There's a water-based formula with pink powder settled at the bottom. The way this pink part shimmered was quite impressive! When mixed, it turns into an opaque pink color overall. The texture is water-like, and as per instructions, I applied it using a cotton pad. 🌼 Application Experience 🌼 Using it as an exfoliating toner, I felt it absorbed quickly without sitting on top of the skin. It leaves a matte finish! Personally, I'm not a huge fan of this finish (mainly because of how it feels on my hands, not my face). After some time, the feeling on my hands was quite unique (like a powdery sensation? A bit fluffy?). To check if it was due to the toner, I applied my regular toner on one hand and the Acness toner on the other. The Acness toner definitely absorbed faster and left a slightly powdery, matte finish. In contrast, my regular toner maintained a moisturized feel! 🌼 Deep Hydration 🌼 I've always struggled to change my toner due to deep dryness. So for me, how well a toner addresses deep dryness is crucial. To cut to the chase, this one does help with deep dryness! I replaced my usual toner with the Acness toner and followed up with my regular emulsion. I felt a slight tightness, so the next day, I applied my previous toner on one cheek and the Acness toner on the other. The dryness felt similar on both sides, likely due to the weather. After applying my moisturizer, I didn't feel dry at all. Still, given its powdery nature, I think it might be even better for those with oily skin. 🌼 Soothing Effect 🌼 I habitually touched a blemish on my forehead, leaving it slightly red and swollen. I soaked a cotton pad with the toner and left it on like a mask, and it seemed to calm down! While this is subjective, I was satisfied using it as a toner mask. There was no irritation at all! 🌼 Overall Assessment 🌼 As someone who considers a toner perfect if it addresses deep dryness, I was very satisfied! It seems to control oil well too, so it might be better for oily skin types than dry ones! Or combination dehydrated skin!! I think it would be perfect for combination dehydrated skin! The powdery feeling left on hands... I'm not a fan... I had to apply hand cream because of this. I think it's because I have dry skin! I didn't notice the powdery feeling on my face as I applied other skincare products before the toner could evaporate. Using it as a mask by soaking a cotton pad seems like a good idea! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinApr 30, 2021
◽️Texture and application: It's a completely watery type that feels light and refreshing. This is my first time using a liposomal product, so it's hard to make an exact comparison, but when applied, it absorbs quickly into the skin, leaving a soft, powdery finish. I'm not sure if this velvety feeling is due to the liposomal formulation or the powder-like ingredients. Nevertheless, when applied right after cleansing, it significantly reduced dryness compared to not using it! ◽️Scent: I consider it perfectly fragrance-free. There's no scent at all, which is great as it doesn't give a harsh feeling when applied to the face. ◽️Volume: As I'm not one to use toner excessively, I think the volume is just right! I estimate it would last about 6 months with consistent use morning and night. This can vary greatly from person to person, so please take it as a rough guide! ◽️Review for dry skin types: Lately, I've found most products to be just okay, so I've been using toners with gentle ingredients. However, when I started using this Acnes product, I felt like my skin was actually getting nourished! I quite liked how the powder ingredients wrapped my skin like velvet, making it feel soft and smooth. On the other hand, I did wonder if this skin-coating effect was actually good. I might have been worrying unnecessarily due to lack of knowledge. Anyway, since I usually apply emulsion or another toner after this one, I think this product works well as a base step in skincare. ◽️Drawback: Having to shake the product before each use might be a bit bothersome. However, it mixes quickly after just a couple of shakes, so it's not a major issue. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 30, 2021
I received two sizes and started with the smaller one. They're the same product. Skin type: Thin / Sensitive / Prone to redness / Deep dryness / Oily T-zone / Normal elsewhere / Acne-prone (oil buildup type) Absorbs well: It absorbs quickly with minimal residue, leaving a pleasantly matte finish - a major plus for this product. Application: Being liquid, it spreads easily. Recommended for: Skin prone to oil buildup or those who apply cream after toner I especially loved that there's no greasy feeling after application. Hydration: While the surface feels fine, there's deep dryness underneath, possibly due to its oil content Blemishes: My redness gets much worse, unfortunately. I always need to apply a soothing essence/toner/serum/ampoule after using this. Not recommended for: Thin, redness-prone skin with deep dryness If you vigorously shake it up and down, the foam stays intact for a long time Gently inverting the bottle a few times, holding it in the middle, also mixes the contents well - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinApr 30, 2021
As the weather warmed up, I was stressed about those pesky little blemishes popping up. Then I got my hands on the Acness Sebum Balancing Skin! - All-day matte finish! Thanks to the powder content, my skin stayed fresh and matte all day, and my complexion looked more refined. - Effective for small blemishes After using it diligently, I found it really effective for those tiny bumps. It seems to have a soothing effect on the skin. - Great for oily skin types It appears to help control excess sebum production. - The powder can be quite drying You'll definitely need to follow up with a hydrating moisturizer after application. - Not recommended for dry skin While it does have a calming effect, the intense powdery finish makes it hard to recommend for those with dry skin. - Thorough cleansing is a must The powder particles will likely stay on your skin for a while, so skipping proper cleansing might lead to more serious blemishes. When using this product, it's crucial to cleanse thoroughly morning and night. I recommend using this alongside a deeply hydrating moisturizer! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 30, 2021
First, my skin is currently combination with an oily T-zone and dry U-zone, and it's neither particularly sensitive nor resilient - just average. Lately, my skin condition has been affected by mask-wearing, with quite a few red blemishes popping up. When I first applied it, I immediately noticed a cooling effect, but it wasn't unpleasant at all. The toner is quite thin, so it absorbs quickly. After wiping my face with a cotton pad, it took only about 10 seconds for it to be fully absorbed, leaving my skin feeling fresh and matte. As for the scent, it was nearly undetectable to me (I'm not very sensitive to smells). I had my friend, who is quite sensitive to fragrances, try it, and she said it wasn't off-putting at all! I've only been using it for a week, so I can't say there's been a dramatic improvement in my blemishes, but I'm starting to see some of the larger ones gradually disappearing. Of course, results may vary, so please keep that in mind! I was quite disappointed by the lack of hydration. Even just 10 minutes after applying the toner alone, I could feel deep dryness and my skin feeling parched. Also, for my skin that tends to develop dead skin cells frequently, I found that this toner alone wasn't particularly effective at managing them. About 10 minutes after application, I could see some flakiness when I looked in the mirror.
