Though Benton was a new brand for me, I decided to try it after hearing it contained ingredients good for blemishes. The powder particles are slightly coarse rather than fine, with a light pink tint. It wasn't irritating, and after use, my blemishes seemed to calm down a bit. Post-cleanse, my skin felt soft and looked brighter without any deep dryness. Being a powder type, it seems like it will last for a long time.
ConsIt's on the pricier side, so I'll have to think about repurchasing after I've used it all up. You need to slowly dissolve it with water, and it doesn't produce much foam. The cleansing effectiveness isn't particularly strong.

I'd heard enzyme cleansers were great for blemishes, so I was eager to give it a go. Overall, while there were a few more downsides than I expected, I still found some positives worth mentioning. My skin type: Super sensitive The Good: 1. Gentle on skin As someone with super sensitive skin, I was pleasantly surprised by how mild this cleanser felt. It didn't irritate my skin at all, which made a great first impression. 2. Blemish prevention While I don't often get blemishes, I felt like this cleanser did a good job of controlling excess oil, which could help prevent breakouts. It gave me a sense of balanced care for my skin. However, I didn't have any major blemishes during my testing period, so I can't speak to its effectiveness in reducing existing blemishes. 3. Non-drying I've read that enzyme cleansers can be drying and are best for summer use. However, despite its oil-controlling properties, I didn't find this cleanser particularly drying at all.
Cons1. Weak cleansing power First and foremost, the cleansing effectiveness is disappointingly weak. For a facial cleanser, this is a significant drawback. I'd recommend using it as a secondary cleanser after your primary cleanse, focusing on the T-zone, blemish-prone areas, or oily spots. 2. Difficult to control amount It's challenging to dispense the right amount of this powder cleanser. The first time I used it, I was startled by how much came out! Even though I tried to be more careful after that, I always ended up using more than intended. 3. Doesn't dissolve well You're supposed to mix the powder with water in your palm to create a lather, but as soon as water touches it, it clumps up and doesn't mix well. The clumps often escape your palm, making it hard to work up a good lather. This leads to constantly having to add more powder. 4. Moisture-sensitive powder cleanser The instructions warn to keep the powder away from moisture, which makes sense given its form. However, considering that we typically use cleansers in the bathroom - a naturally humid environment - it would be great if they could include some kind of moisture-absorbing packet in the container.
TipTo make up for its weak cleansing power, I recommend using this as a secondary cleanser! I've been using it after my primary cleanse, focusing on my T-zone, blemish-prone areas, and oilier parts of my face.

There's no squeaky clean or tight feeling after washing, so it might be great for those with dry skin! The container opening is unique, which seems suitable for using a powder-type cleanser!
ConsThe scent is like powdered cold medicine, which I don't really like. While it's good for bare skin, it doesn't seem to have enough cleansing effectiveness to remove makeup. Being a powder type, it doesn't dissolve well in water and clumps, making it difficult to use.
TipIf you want to remove makeup, rather than using this alone, it might be better to use it after cleansing with another product first.

I'm usually very picky about cleansing products and don't even dare to try exfoliators or scrubs. This is my first time trying Benton, and it seems like a brand that really cares about the environment and skin. Even the box and ink are eco-friendly! Paying attention to such small details makes me trust them even more. The powder particles aren't particularly fine, so you need to dissolve them well in water. I've always wanted to exfoliate but couldn't due to sensitivity, leaving my pores uncleaned. With this, I can even use it without fully dissolving the powder, and it doesn't cause tingling or redness while still exfoliating effectively. It's not an intense, squeaky-clean feeling, but rather perfect for a gentle morning cleanse or as a final step in double cleansing! The quantity is generous! Being a powder type, it should last a long time. I've tried enzyme powder cleansers before that left my skin feeling tight, didn't cleanse well, and were irritating. Surprisingly, Benton works great for me! I'd love to repurchase, but the price point is a bit high. In summer, after being outside, my skin feels hot and I get blemishes from wearing a mask. I was worried about irritation, but this product quickly calms my blemishes and has minimal irritation! I've mentioned it before, but I'll say it again - it's so gentle on my skin, which I love!
ConsThe only downside for me is the price! Unlike other enzyme cleansers, it doesn't have a strong smell. I didn't expect amazing cleansing power from an enzyme powder cleanser, but it's not disappointing at all!

B.lab Matcha Hydrating Foam Cleanser = Tight after cleansing ➡️ Recommended for oily skin Benton = No tightness after cleansing ➡️ Recommended for dry skin ✓Texture: 3/5 Powder formula, can feel gritty if not fully dissolved - be careful with sensitive skin Beware of undissolved granules Those with a strong skin barrier can use without fully dissolving Actually provides some exfoliation Gave it 3 stars because I found the undissolved clumps bothersome ✓Ingredients: 5/5 No harmful ingredients, contains Centella Asiatica for soothing effects Routine: Cleansing ➡️ Skincare ➡️ Tea Tree Oil, Centella powder (+ scar ointment...) Try the skincare products mentioned above - they're great! Settled on these after much trial and error ✓Effectiveness: 5/5 As you can see in the photo below, blemishes cleared up in just 6 days This also has skincare benefits The combination of my current skincare + this cleanser is the ultimate holy grail routine
Cons✓Cleansing power: 2/5 Doesn't remove makeup completely Might barely remove makeup even when used with cleansing oil Bottom photos: 4th is Benton alone, 5th is with cleansing oil (Double Wear, Peripera tint, Kiss Me brush pen, Wake Make pencil liner, Kiss Me mascara) Claims to be deep cleansing, but how? Cleansing effectiveness: B.lab > Benton Okay when used with cleansing oil ✓Packaging: 3/5 Difficult to dispense small amounts Product suddenly gushes out when tilting carefully ✓Price: 2/5 Wouldn't buy at full price of 26,000 won if not for being a Hwahae Tester Not really worth it for the price Great ingredients and soothing effects, but wouldn't spend my own money Might buy on sale from other sites, but if not on sale... Would rather buy two B.lab Matcha Hydrating Foam Cleansers instead (best price, quantity, ingredients)
TipMake sure to use with cleansing oil, it doesn't remove makeup well on its own For sensitive skin, fully dissolve the powder; for normal skin, you can leave it partially undissolved for exfoliation
