The YSL lip product feels like a must-have collection piece. It applies smoothly and gives a slightly cool sensation when putting it on. There's a bit of staining, so the staying power isn't bad either. The color has a slight pink mix, which was a color choice fail for my warm complexion... It might look prettier on those with cool undertones. For a water stain tint, the color is vibrant and shows up well. About two months after I started using it, the tint began to smell like alcohol? It had a slightly fermented odor, which made me feel I couldn't use it for long :( After some time, it feels a bit drying and dead skin cells start to appear... (All YSL lip products make my lips flake, unfortunately) I think I bought it just because it's YSL, sigh. With so many affordable tints coming out these days that work well, this one feels a bit disappointing for its price. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinNov 6, 2020
This tint doesn't give you that super glossy look like some drugstore plumping tints, but rather a moisturizing formula. I thought it would be a common orange-red, but when applied thinly on the lips, there's no prettier water-stained red out there! I had to deduct stars because of the overwhelming scent and ingredients. There's a strange chemical and perfume fragrance that you can smell not only with your nose but also feel when applying it. Ugh... YSL has always had these two drawbacks, and I really wish they'd fix them. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAug 27, 2020
Since I bought this in-store, it suited me well. The color isn't too bold, making it great for everyday use. As it's a glossy product, it tends to transfer easily. It might be personal preference, but there's a slight alcohol-like scent, which I find just okay... - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinJul 26, 2020
The color is absolutely gorgeous, and it seems to transfer less than other moisturizing tints! Unfortunately, the scent is a bit disappointing as it smells too much like alcohol. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 16, 2019
I tried this because it's known as Hyuna's tint. I thought it would be light since it's called a water tint, but it actually has a bit of moisturizing effect. While it's not as hydrating as a lip glow, it applies lightly with good absorption. The color payoff is great and it lasts a long time! There's always this scent... I was surprised by the slightly chemical smell, but I've used many Yves Saint Laurent tints and they all seem to have that scent. I've just gotten used to it and continue using it. If your lips aren't dry, the color payoff is really pretty and long-lasting. That's why I recommend applying a little bit of lip balm before the tint. It helps the color last longer and look beautiful! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinJul 21, 2019
First off, the color really works for me. It brightens my complexion noticeably, giving me that coveted 'one shade lighter' effect. The texture is perfect for my taste - it's buildable, allowing for a subtle gradient that looks natural. To be honest, even if I had to overlook everything else, the color alone is outstanding. Despite some drawbacks for me personally, I can't deny that the shade is absolutely top-notch. Truth be told, the scent is a bit overwhelming - it's that typical 'cosmetic smell' which can be a bit off-putting. While the color seems perfect for summer, the staying power leaves much to be desired. It comes off even when sipping through a straw! I tend to have issues with dead skin cells, and if I haven't exfoliated well, it can leave patchy stains after eating. It's strange because when I first apply it, there's no emphasis on dry patches at all, but the longevity is still disappointing.
