This shampoo is excellent for dry scalps. It's my go-to when my scalp gets painfully dry during autumn and winter. I can't think of any particular downsides. However, it might be too rich for summer use and could make your hair feel heavy. - dp**********Dry SkinAcne SkinRecommendedAug 23, 2022
Compared to other shampoos, it doesn't leave my hair feeling greasy. It gives a thorough cleansing sensation. I've gone through several bottles. The price is also incredibly affordable, making it great value for money. After using multiple bottles, I feel like the effectiveness has diminished. I switched to Aromatica's shampoo and found it left my hair feeling much cleaner. I'll just use up what's left of this and try something else. Aromatica is much more expensive, but... - as***Normal SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJul 25, 2022
It was great to use because it didn't cause any irritation or itching The consistency was thin, so I used it up quickly, and it was quite expensive - ju********Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJul 18, 2022
I switched to this after using anti-hair loss shampoos (TS, Dr. For Hair) that kept causing acne on my forehead. I decided to try this based on recommendations I saw. Not sure if it's because the timing coincided with my dermatologist visit, but I feel like my skin has improved somewhat. It's difficult to find this product since it's been discontinued after being reformulated. The reviews for the new version aren't great, so I'm planning to buy a different product. - rn*********Combination SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedJul 12, 2022
I bought this from the official store with a discount coupon after hearing about its popularity on open markets. I only paid for shipping and got a small amount to try out. My hair type is thick and straight, and my scalp is generally healthy except for a bit of dandruff and dead skin cells. It's like I have a steel scalp! I had high expectations for The Body Shop product due to its fame, and I can see why it's so popular. Scent: The ginger scent might be divisive, but I found it pleasant - sweet like rice punch. It mostly fades after drying your hair anyway. Texture: It's transparent and almost water-like in consistency. Hair condition after use: With my thick, straight hair, some shampoos can make it look even fuller and bushier. But this product - even when used alone for an accurate review - made my hair incredibly smooth and gave it a soothed, moisturized feel. I was surprised at how sleek and manageable it was right after drying, even more so than when I use conditioner or treatments. I think it would work even better paired with a treatment. I prefer products that tame my hair, and this is definitely one of them. I'm satisfied. Overall, the product is gentle, making my scalp feel comfortable. Personally, I think Labo-H and Andalou products are the best. Fragrance: It has a sweet ginger scent, but even this can be polarizing. After drying, the shampoo scent is barely noticeable. If you want fragrant hair, you might need to use a scented conditioner, treatment, or hair spray. Cleansing power: It's not great. Maybe it's because of its watery consistency and lack of richness, but even when I apply a lot and massage thoroughly to create foam, it doesn't feel like it cleanses thoroughly. You know how your scalp can smell after washing? Usually, other shampoos remove this, but the foam isn't as rich as the texture suggests. For someone with thick hair like me, a pre-wash seems necessary. Dandruff removal: Due to its weak cleansing power, it doesn't seem to remove scalp buildup and dead skin cells effectively. Of course, if it's meant to create a healthy scalp with gentle ingredients and thus reduce dandruff, that's a different story. Value for money: It's wicked. Compared to other shampoos I use, it's about 3-5 times more expensive. It feels more like a gentle, hair-smoothing product rather than an exceptionally amazing shampoo. My father has severe scalp itching and a lot of dandruff, so he's tried various shampoos. I'll update on his scalp and hair condition after using The Body Shop Ginger Shampoo. If you have normal or oily scalp, I recommend using a pre-wash shampoo to remove some scalp buildup before using this. For those with dry scalps, you can use it directly. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinMay 13, 2022
I bought this product after it was recommended for my flaky scalp. I managed to get it at a good price during a sale and I'm currently using it. When I first used it, my scalp felt really itchy and tingly. I bought it because I heard the ingredients were good, but after researching, I found they weren't great at all. To be honest, I'm not sure if it's even effective. - km*****Combination SkinAcne SkinApr 17, 2022
It doesn't make my scalp itchy. I'm really trying to squeeze out the positives here. It doesn't lather well and it's excessively oily. I can't believe it's like this after less than a day of use. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMar 26, 2022
I love this shampoo that I use regularly! It prevents dandruff and doesn't make my scalp itchy. While it's a bit disappointing that there's no lingering scent, I appreciate that it has gentle ingredients. - go******Dry SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedFeb 22, 2022
Scalp type: On the dry side When I use shampoos that don't suit my scalp, it quickly becomes itchy and I get blemishes. But with this shampoo, I didn't notice at first, but after about two weeks of use, I realized it's perfect for my scalp. It feels great because my scalp feels refreshed after washing! The ingredients are a bit disappointing... It's inconvenient that it doesn't come in a pump bottle. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedFeb 21, 2022
My scalp used to itch frequently, and scratching made it sensitive, creating a vicious cycle. But since I started using this shampoo, I've noticed a significant improvement. The lid is a bit stiff. It takes more effort than expected to open it. This might be because I'm used to pump-style products, so it feels different to me. The Body Shop's official website often has sales. It's probably best to make your purchase during those times.
