The adherence is good and it feels quite lightweight. The coverage is decent enough. I bought this because it was advertised as a moisturizing concealer, but it still creases badly and emphasizes dead skin cells... It's below my expectations. I don't think I'll repurchase it. It might work better if you thoroughly prep your skin with a good skincare routine before applying the concealer. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinNov 13, 2024
It absorbs lightly and has pretty good staying power, making it comfortable to apply without feeling heavy. It would be great if there were more color options available, so we could use different shades for various areas that need coverage. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinFeb 20, 2024
The coverage isn't extremely high, but it's one of the more hydrating concealers out there. It has a lightweight texture despite being moisturizing, which helps it set well and adhere to the skin nicely. Highly recommended for those who dislike dry concealers and prioritize good adherence! The entire Banila Co. Covericious line seems to be well-crafted. Both the foundation and concealer perform above average. A major plus is that it applies lightly, so your makeup doesn't look heavy or cakey because of the concealer. The shade range is a bit disappointing... Typically, to effectively cover blemishes or dark spots, a concealer should be slightly darker than your base. However, this concealer tends to run lighter than the shade number suggests, so it might be better to buy a lighter shade and use it as a highlighter rather than for coverage. For those who use shades 21 or 22 and want to cover dark spots or blemishes, I'd recommend shade 23 (Peanut)! If you're looking to use it as a highlighter, go for an even lighter shade. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinAug 21, 2023
The coverage is excellent and looks natural. It's not too bright, allowing for a light, subtle complexion enhancement. It tends to settle into uneven skin texture and pores. As time passes, the darkening effect becomes more pronounced. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJul 13, 2023
I bought this to do a light makeup look, just applying a thin layer as a concealer. I'm not sure about its coverage, but it seems perfect for evening out my complexion. There's nothing particularly disappointing about it. I've been using this every day lately. I don't even use cushion foundations anymore. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 13, 2021
This is a review from The Hwahae Testers! I have combination dehydrated skin with red acne marks and use shade 21-2. I tried shade 23 to cover my redness. The packaging is so pretty, you might mistake it for a lip gloss! The applicator tip is similar to a solid lip product. For a concealer, it applies very lightly and feels hydrating. While this has some drawbacks, I think it's great for transitional seasons when skin can get flaky. Though not waterproof, it's quite water-resistant. It seems well-suited for warm skin tones. The colors are beautifully formulated. It's a shame there are only two shades available though! This product is perfect for spring, fall, and winter use! Due to its light and hydrating nature, the coverage is somewhat lacking. It doesn't completely cover redness. It's fine for tiny pores, but don't expect much coverage for larger ones. I think a common drawback of many domestic mid-range brand concealers is their limited color spectrum. It's a bit disappointing that it's fixed at shades 21 and 23. The colors seemed suitable for warm tones, but might not work well for those with extremely cool undertones. It's not great with oiliness. While it doesn't break down too badly, wearing a mask seems to make it deteriorate faster. Even with powder, it broke down quickly, which was a bit disappointing. It might be challenging for those with oily skin. As for adherence... I'm not sure. After using it myself and reading other reviews, I disagree with those who said it adheres well. It's better to use small amounts frequently rather than applying a lot at once. The tip doesn't dispense a large amount in one go. As someone who likes to dispense a large amount and apply it bit by bit, this aspect was somewhat disappointing, but it seems like a great product for those who prefer using the applicator tip directly! I tried applying it with fingers, brush, and puff. When using fingers, too much product came out and I couldn't feel the concealer building up at all. Personally, I think this product works best with a brush or a combination of brush and puff. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSep 12, 2021
This is a review from The Hwahae Testers! My skin type is combination dehydrated with enlarged pores, blemishes, and scarring. I've tried countless concealers from various brands since my school days, including popular ones like The S, Clio, Luna, Canmake, and Makeup Forever. Back then, I was obsessed with completely covering every single scar, even if it meant thick application. These days, I prefer a lighter feel, especially with masks making our skin feel stuffy. The Vanilla Co concealer isn't a full-coverage product, but it's incredibly lightweight! It's the lightest concealer I've ever used, and I'm thrilled with it! Texture and application: I used to prefer thick, matte concealers. I'd apply a liquid concealer all over, then use pot or pencil types for spot coverage. This Vanilla Co concealer is surprisingly moisturizing, thin, and light. It's perfect for a sheer, even application as a liquid concealer. I've been using Clio concealer for 5 years, emptying dozens of tubes. While it had good coverage, it was too matte and often cracked. This one glides on smoothly and blends effortlessly. I plan to repurchase it for fall, winter, and spring. Coverage: While it's not extraordinary, considering its moisturizing formula, the coverage is above average. It's great for evening out redness or widespread discoloration rather than spot concealing. For stubborn spots, I recommend using this Covericious concealer as a base to even out your complexion, then spot-concealing with a pencil or pot concealer. Adherence: It adheres well when applied thinly and patted in with a puff. The light, moisturizing texture helps it stick to the skin nicely. Pores and fine lines: It doesn't cover pores on its own, but works well over a pore-filling primer. It's great for fine lines! Unlike matte concealers that crease in smile lines, this one barely settles into wrinkles when applied thinly due to its moisturizing, lightweight formula. Oil control: It does get a bit oily over time due to its moisturizing nature, but it's perfect for combination dehydrated skin in winter. I can't wait for winter now! Goodbye to thick, matte, stuffy concealers. The staying power is quite good too. When it gets oily, a light dusting of powder freshens it up nicely. Emphasizing dead skin cells: My skin is prone to flakiness, especially around healing blemishes. In the before and after photos, you can see a tiny bit of flaking where I've extracted a pimple. But this is really minimal - a matte concealer would look much worse! I took these photos quickly without proper skincare or primers to show you the raw results. With a proper base, it looks even better with minimal emphasis on dead skin cells. Color: I use shade 23, and it's a perfect match for my skin tone! This makes it look even more natural. I've compared it to my other go-to concealers - Shiseido is slightly darker, Clio is a bit lighter, but this Peanut color is spot on, not even 0.5 shade off. It's great for daily use. If you want a brighter look, just dab on a thin layer of lighter foundation in the center of your face. Packaging: The packaging is so pretty! The gradient design is a real eye-catcher. I think it's beautiful every time I look at it. The applicator tip is angled, making it easy to apply. This review turned into a love letter! Usually, high-coverage concealers have questionable ingredients, but this one has good ingredients too. So far, no blemishes, and I'll definitely repurchase. I'm so glad I discovered this through The Hwahae Testers - what if I hadn't been selected? If you have combination dehydrated skin and have ever had to remove and reapply your makeup because your matte concealer caked, creased, and emphasized flaky skin around blemishes during seasonal changes or winter, go buy this right now! There's nothing. Really, nothing... I think this is the first time I haven't mentioned any downsides, but there truly aren't any! - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinSep 12, 2021
The best feature was its lightweight application. Unlike some concealers that can look heavy or cakey when applied incorrectly, this one felt great. It was as light as applying cushion foundation rather than a typical concealer. Perhaps due to its quality ingredients, I experienced no eye irritation and it worked well with my sensitive skin. While many concealers tend to be drying, this product struck a nice balance - not too moisturizing (which could cause eye makeup to smudge) but not overly drying either, making it comfortable to use. The shade also blended seamlessly with my 23 shade foundation for a natural look. While it effectively concealed small blemishes and marks, it didn't completely cover darker spots or deep under-eye circles. I wish it had provided more coverage in these areas. This seems better suited for natural, subtle coverage, similar to using a brightening moisturizer, rather than for full, flawless concealment.
