As someone prone to blemishes, I'm thrilled that this didn't cause any breakouts! The thin, perfectly adhering application is also fantastic. Due to its thin consistency, the coverage isn't very high. It feels just slightly more coverage than foundation...? Its thinness makes it great for applying around the eyes. It provides a light dark circle cover! However, make sure to choose the right shade carefully! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinApr 11, 2023
+ The coverage is pretty good + It's not difficult to apply evenly + I think the biggest advantage of this product is that the ingredients aren't harsh, so it doesn't cause major blemishes + The color leans yellow, so if you use it over other brands' base makeup products to cover small areas, it might look a bit patchy due to color mismatch. It's a good product if you can find the right shade for you + For areas that need more coverage or protruding parts, you might need to layer it on more than other areas, but it can separate or wear off over time + Dispense some product on the back of your hand, load both sides of your concealer brush well, then lightly dab a bit more from your hand. Apply tiny dots to your face, don't swipe. Gently pat it in as if you're covering with tiny dots. If you apply too much at once, it might dry out and crease or separate over time + If you're using it to cover small blemishes after applying cushion or foundation, choose a shade that matches your base makeup as closely as possible. If you're using it as a base before cushion or foundation, you can go for a slightly darker shade - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 7, 2023
The ingredients are better compared to other concealers. It doesn't cause any blemishes when used. It's neither excessively moisturizing nor drying. I've tried Clio (too dry), then Luna (caused blemishes), and finally settled on this Banila Co. concealer. The downside is that there's no shade between 21 Peach and 23 Peanut. 21 matches my skin tone but is too light to cover blemishes. 23 is good for covering dark spots and blemishes, but it's slightly dark. I'd definitely buy it again if they released a 22 shade. I use 21 on areas where I want to brighten the skin tone. 23 is used for covering dark spots or red blemishes. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinFeb 24, 2023
The coverage is excellent and it applies smoothly, so I used it as a light alternative to foundation. It seems the ingredients suited my skin well, as I didn't experience any blemishes. Overall, I'm very pleased with it. I accidentally bought shade 23, which was a bit dark for me. However, it actually ended up looking quite natural, so it might have been a fortunate mistake after all... - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 18, 2022
Coverage: - Some say it's weak, but that's absolutely not true... It covers my skin so well. I'm completely satisfied with the coverage. Plus, its yellow tone is perfect for concealing redness. No blemishes: - Doesn't cause any breakouts. Excellent ingredients: - The formula is very skin-friendly. Great value: - The price is incredibly reasonable. Hydration: - Even after wearing a mask for hours, there's no pilling or emphasis on dead skin cells. Zero staying power and adherence: - It's moisturizing, but... when you wear a mask, it all comes off... haha... - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSep 13, 2021
Skin type: Oily/blemish-prone skin. Ingredients and blemish triggers: The ingredients seem to be good as they didn't cause any special blemishes! However, when applied to areas with acne, it felt like it might have slowed down the healing process a bit (though it's hard to blame the concealer for this). Matte finish: As someone with extremely oily skin, I prefer a matte finish, and this concealer delivered just that - I'm so satisfied! Color: I usually use shade 21, so I deliberately chose a darker concealer, but it wasn't too dark at all! It matched well with my other makeup products. Coverage: As expected from Banila Co... The coverage is really good. It covers much better than my previous concealer. Staying power: Usually, my makeup would always break down after wearing a mask for a long time, but with this, even though it does break down a bit, it seems to last longer. Packaging design: They really nailed the design, it's so cute! Mask transfer: There is some transfer onto the mask, but this happens with other products too, so I've just accepted it. Blemishes: As mentioned above, when applied to areas with acne, it felt like it might have slowed down the healing process. While I can't definitively say the concealer was the cause, I felt it might have had some influence. If you apply the concealer first and then put on foundation (I use Estée Lauder), the colors don't separate, and the staying power seems to be even better! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSep 13, 2021
The ingredients are really great! These days, even color cosmetics are coming out without concerning ingredients, but it's still quite difficult to find a good concealer. Most concealers on the market contain at least 3 concerning ingredients, including PEG derivatives, so I avoided using them. However, this product has no harmful ingredients at all, so I've been using it with confidence! During use, I didn't experience any blemishes, and because the ingredients are so good, it covers the basics in terms of coverage and adherence. For me, this is the top concealer among all I've tried. Usually, even when they say it's shade 23, it tends to be as light as shade 21, which was disappointing. This product is definitely darker, which I liked, but since concealers are typically used to brighten the skin by half a shade, it's both a pro and a con. Also, it has a bit more of a yellow undertone while being dark... When my makeup starts to break down, because I tend to have oily skin, it clumps and lifts. I think it would work better if I strengthen my skincare routine before applying and finish it off more thoroughly. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 13, 2021
✓ Skin Type - Combination, Blemish-prone Sunny Points: • Skin-friendly Ingredients: There aren't many concealers with good ingredients, but this one causes no irritation for blemish-prone skin and doesn't trigger new breakouts. • Adherence: I lightly applied it as a base before foundation, and it didn't lift or pill at all. • Color: My skin tone is a warm 22, where 21 is slightly light and 23 is dark. When I used this before foundation, it was just right - neither too dark nor too light! The concealer has a beautiful color payoff. • Wear: Many high-coverage concealers tend to crease and break down over time, but this one wears off very neatly without lifting. Rainy Point: • Coverage could be better: As I have blemishes, I prefer high-coverage products. This was a bit lacking in covering acne. However, it might be perfect for those seeking a natural coverage. Additional Notes: • This concealer should work well for both 21 and 23 shades when used before foundation. • Recommended for those who want an undetectable, natural-looking coverage. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 10, 2021
1. Good ingredients - There are no pore-clogging ingredients, and it doesn't contain any of the 20 ingredients or allergens to be cautious of. - I didn't experience any itchiness, redness, or breakouts. - I had a strange experience in the past where my skin actually improved after using a different brand's calamine-containing BB cream, so I was glad to see calamine as an ingredient. 2. Appropriate dark shade and high coverage - The color is a warm one without any gray tones. It has a slight orange undertone. - It's effective at covering black acne scars. (Refer to the 3rd photo) - It covers redness reasonably well, though not dramatically. (Refer to the 2nd photo) - Dark circles aren't particularly noticeable, so I don't feel the need to separately cover them. They seem to be well-covered. - I'm using shade 23, which is a half-tone up. Since most foundations are usually a half-tone to a full-tone up, there shouldn't be any jarring difference. 3. Adhesion and staying power - It adheres well even when applied haphazardly with just my fingers. - For spot coverage, I can apply a second layer directly on top without any caking or slipping. 4. Decent longevity, clean breakdown - After about 3 hours, it blended naturally with my skin's oil, making my skin look very nice. I was sweating and my face got heated from cleaning, but there was no breakdown. - After around 7 hours, it felt a bit faded, but not in a way that it had caked up on my skin. It was more like it had slightly evaporated, which I think was fine since I applied it thinly. 5. Waterproof - While it doesn't control oil, it's strong against water. My skin feels coated, repelling water. 6. Price - If using it for spot coverage, it should last a while, so the price doesn't feel too high. 1. Slightly disappointing shade - The shade 23 is true to its color, but as someone who prefers a more natural look, I felt it was a bit too bright to use the concealer alone. It's not jarring, but I think I would have felt more comfortable if it was just a bit darker. - Since I have quite a bit of redness, I think a slightly more yellow-toned shade would have been more effective at covering the redness. 2. Lacking in pore coverage - It covers smaller pores well, but doesn't conceal larger, visible pores. Of course, I could apply more to fill in the pore areas, but that would make it look cakey and prone to breaking down. - Since it doesn't contain pore-blocking ingredients like silicone oils, and concealer isn't primarily meant for pore coverage, this isn't a major issue for me personally. 3. Lifting on larger areas - It's excellent for spot coverage, but on larger areas like redness or discoloration, it can start to look a bit lifted, even on my non-dry skin. This is likely due to its matte, powdery texture. I'll have to be careful around areas with fine lines, like under the eyes or around the mouth. 4. Mask transfer - I haven't been going out and wearing masks, but I did test it by pressing a mask firmly onto my skin after about 7 hours of wear, when my oil production was high. - It did transfer a bit, though not dramatically visible to the naked eye. So when wearing a mask all day, going in and out, and taking it on and off for meals, there would likely be some transfer, even if not as much as a full foundation. 1. I'd recommend this to those with sensitive skin who want a more natural look, but are bothered by minor blemishes. Just apply sunscreen and use the concealer for spot coverage. It covers redness quite well too. Most importantly, it feels comfortable on the skin. 2. Make sure to have a solid skincare routine as the foundation. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSep 10, 2021
First off, my skin type is extremely oily and acne-prone, where even cushion foundation in shade 23 initially looks a bit light on me. Mask-free Longevity: When I wasn't wearing a mask and just relaxed at home for about 3-4 hours, there was a slight increase in oiliness and some fading. Blemish-friendly: I've used other brands' concealers all over my face before, which caused a lot of blemishes on my cheeks. However, this product didn't cause any breakouts, which was great. Color: The color comes out beautifully and seems to maintain its shade over time. It provides just the right amount of brightness for my slightly darker skin tone. Lightweight: Despite being a concealer, when applied moderately, it's so light and thin that you could comfortably wear it alone without any other makeup. Coverage: While it does cover well if applied very thickly, as I mentioned earlier, it doesn't provide extremely high coverage. It's just enough to conceal small blemishes or scars. Longevity: To be honest, I'm not sure about its overall staying power. Considering we wear masks these days, and as someone with extremely oily skin using this as a concealer, I found it had mostly faded after about 3-4 hours of mask wear. While I haven't tried many concealers to make a comprehensive comparison, as someone who prefers light to medium coverage rather than heavy, full coverage, I'm satisfied with this product. I especially liked that it didn't have a grayish undertone and matched my skin tone beautifully. For reference, due to my extremely oily skin, most cushions or foundations break down within 3-4 hours when I'm wearing a mask. So, this level of longevity might be quite good for others with different skin types.
