Those hard, swollen, red bumps that you can't even squeeze are always on my mind. While this product doesn't work miracles, it definitely helps. First off, it really does calm skin inflammation as promised. Just feeling that soothing effect makes me less anxious about my skin. I always check the ingredients list on Hwahae, and true to Avène's reputation, this is a gentle, trustworthy product. For those with blemish-prone skin, using mild products like this one feels safer. I'll definitely keep using it!
ConsWhen applied all over the face, it doesn't give that satisfying, bouncy feeling when you touch your skin. Instead, it feels a bit greasy and like it's sitting on top of the skin. However, it doesn't transfer to oil blotting papers, so maybe my skin is just dehydrated. The hydration it provides is slightly lacking.
TipI'd recommend using this as a spot treatment on areas that need it most.

First off, I really appreciated the pump dispenser for hygienic use. The cream absorbs smoothly and provides good hydration. It didn't cause any blemishes, which is great. I noticed some improvement in skin texture. I liked that it's fragrance-free. While the ingredients are gentle, it feels like a decent but unremarkable product overall.
ConsTo compare effectiveness, I applied this cream on one cheek and my usual cream on the other. Disappointingly, while it didn't cause blemishes, I didn't really feel any soothing effects either. It felt a bit rich, so I had to be careful with the amount I used. I avoided applying it to my T-zone as it felt too oily there. The texture is more oily than deeply moisturizing. There's an immediate hydrating effect, but it seems to last shorter than my regular cream. For someone with combination dehydrated skin, this cream alone isn't enough. This is the most disappointing aspect for me.
TipI think it might work better if used as a thin layer for barrier strengthening after applying other hydrating products.

When applied in the order of toner, essence, and cream, it might feel a bit heavy for oily skin types. ✓ Fragrance The scent is almost undetectable, close to fragrance-free. ✓ Texture It doesn't absorb instantly, requiring multiple gentle massages for full absorption. The texture is similar to an ointment, without feeling particularly soft or light. ✓ Packaging It comes in a pump bottle, which prevents contaminants from entering the cream, making it hygienic and safe to use.
Cons✓ Skin Condition As it's formulated for dry skin, it didn't seem to have a significant soothing effect on oily, blemish-prone skin. It didn't appear to calm existing acne, and if anything, breakouts seemed to increase rather than subside. Additionally, I dislike heavy finishes, and this cream leaves a heavy rather than bouncy feel on the skin. ✓ Oiliness At night, I applied it generously without worry as I'd wash it off in the morning. However, when I applied a thick layer before work, my skin became excessively oily, forcing me to blot it all off with oil-absorbing sheets. As a result, I ended up using only a tiny amount or applying it every other day when going to work. I think this is partly because I really dislike the feeling of excess oil on my skin. ✓ Price Considering the quantity and effectiveness, the price seems a bit steep.
TipPhotos taken on day 1 and day 3 of cream usage > As blemishes and oiliness increased significantly, I adjusted the amount of cream applied, using it sparingly. I also incorporated modeling masks and hydrating soothing masks into my routine.
