For those in their 30s with dry, sensitive skin: If you're looking for a gentle, hydrating cream with great ingredients for daily use, I highly recommend this one. ✔️ Made with 99% naturally-derived ingredients ✔️ Fragrance-free for those with sensitive noses ✔️ Patented air-tight tube to preserve freshness While it's not an overly rich cream, it does provide a nice protective layer on the skin. I found it to be excellent at locking in moisture. I must admit, the previous version was much better - what a shame! The old formula would improve my skin overnight, which I miss. This cream works hard to keep your skin hydrated and protected. It's perfect for those with super sensitive skin who need a daily moisturizer that won't cause irritation. The natural ingredients help to even out your complexion while providing deep hydration. It absorbs well without feeling sticky, making it great for layering in your skincare routine. While it may not be as rich as some creams, it still does a fantastic job at maintaining your skin's oil and moisture balance. - qj*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJun 1, 2025
It's not sticky and feels lightweight, making it perfect for summer use. In winter, it can feel drying and cause skin tightness, making it difficult to use on its own. This product seems to be a lightweight moisturizer that works well in warmer months. However, it may not provide enough hydration for dry winter skin, suggesting it might be better suited for combination or oily skin types, or as part of a layering routine in colder weather. - tj*********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedMay 21, 2025
As someone with sensitive skin, I'm incredibly picky about what I put on my face. But this product? It's a keeper for life! It's truly remarkable - the redness around my eyes that other famous creams couldn't tame has actually improved since I started using this. Avène, please never discontinue this miracle worker! Keep it coming, always! I honestly can't think of a single flaw with this product. It's that good! - so********Combination SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesEnlarged PoresRecommendedMay 3, 2025
This seems to be the absolute best for atopic skin. The hydration is truly incredible and it's amazing for dry skin. I have combination skin, so I don't like products that are too oily, but this one feels more moisturizing than greasy. When applied before bed, it tends to make your hair stick to your face a bit. - lj***Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedApr 16, 2025
I bought this after seeing reviews about its effectiveness on redness. It applies smoothly without feeling greasy. I really love the hygienic pump dispenser. I didn't see any calming effect on my redness. Instead, my facial skin felt rather dry. Surprisingly, the back of my hands became incredibly soft. Curious, I tried it on different parts of my body. Areas with thin skin close to the bone, like the back of the hands, became soft, but it had no effect on thicker areas like the thighs. There's no stickiness at all, and it makes your skin feel as soft as naturally smooth skin. This has become my go-to hand cream for the car. It's quite pricey for a hand cream, but when I touch the back of my hands, I'm so satisfied with the results. - kj*****Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedApr 6, 2025
For super sensitive skin, there's no brand quite like Avène. It's my go-to skincare savior! In my 20s, when my skin was healthier, I didn't really appreciate Avène. It didn't seem particularly good or bad - there was no noticeable change. But now in my 30s, with extremely sensitive skin, I've finally discovered Avène's true value. While I adore and regularly use La Roche-Posay's Toleriane line for sensitive skin, Avène's Tolérance line feels even gentler on skin that reacts to the slightest touch. This product is fantastic for immediate soothing and visibly reducing redness. It doesn't have a cooling effect and feels like nothing on the skin, but after 1-2 minutes, you'll notice the redness has subsided. When my skin was so irritated that everything else caused itching and stinging, this was the only product I could use. That's how gentle it is, which is why I always keep it on hand for emergencies. It applies smoothly and lightly with a velvety texture. There's a hint of richness, but it feels soft without being heavy or greasy. If you're thinking 'my skin reacts to everything right now', give this a try! I was worried about the citric acid, but it doesn't seem to cause any major issues for my skin. The downside is that it might disappoint those looking for deep hydration. It doesn't provide intense moisture all the way through to the deeper layers. Instead, it offers gentle, non-irritating hydration mainly for the skin's surface. Due to the lack of deep hydration, sometimes the skin can look a bit wrinkled, like plastic wrap. I even get a pimple or two from dehydration! But I put up with it because nothing else is this gentle. It's best to use a light toner or essence for hydration before applying this product. It's so gentle that people with healthy skin might wonder if they've even applied anything or what the purpose of using it is! Compared to La Roche-Posay Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer: Both are lighter than most products, but La Roche-Posay feels a bit heavier and richer. Avène is much lighter. La Roche-Posay is truly gentle, but perhaps due to the PEG, it sometimes causes flushing on my skin. Avène, on the other hand, actually helps calm redness. La Roche-Posay provides much better hydration, but if I apply too much, it can occasionally cause blemishes, possibly due to the shea butter. Avène can also lead to blemishes due to lack of hydration, but balancing it with a toner or essence works well. - jo***********Normal SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedFeb 18, 2025
As someone with super sensitive skin, this product suits me well and has a calming effect. I'm consistently using this along with Avène sunscreen. When my skin feels dry, I need to pump it two or three times for adequate application. - jd************Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedNov 5, 2024
This moisturizer seems great for oily skin types, especially when your skin feels irritated during seasonal changes The price is quite steep compared to the amount you get. I'll have to stock up when it's on sale - cs******Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedOct 28, 2024
I've been using this for years. While there's nothing particularly bad about it, I can't say I've seen any dramatic improvements either... The price is too high for the amount you get. Since I buy it through overseas shopping, I end up purchasing multiple units. - se******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRednessRecommendedSep 10, 2024
I have rosacea. I've been using only this product for over 2 years. I really hope it doesn't get discontinued... The texture is quite thick, so it absorbs slowly if applied on damp skin
