It seems pharmaceutical companies are releasing a lot of cosmetics these days. The cream's texture is slightly thick but easy to spread. Since I've only used it for a few days, I'm not sure about the long-term effects, but when I wake up in the morning, my skin feels wonderfully soft. It's said to be good for strengthening the skin barrier, which I hope works well for my sensitive skin. The scent... well, it's not particularly bad, but it's not great either. I wish the product came in a larger size. - Hwahae UserDry SkinDec 26, 2021
1. Skin condition improvement One thing I really loved was how much it smoothed out my bumpy skin texture. It was especially bad around my eyes and the sides of my mouth, but it's gotten so much better! 2. Dead skin cells I tend to have severe facial flaking, and using this alone didn't completely solve it. However, after first exfoliating and then consistently applying this cream, my skin stayed flake-free and felt softer for longer. If you have a lot of dead skin buildup, make sure to exfoliate before using this! 3. Absorbs It spreads wide and smooth, just like an ointment!! It's really similar to applying a salve. 4. Other points The amount seems quite generous, it has patents, and it's made by a pharmaceutical company which gives me confidence in it. No real downsides to the product itself This might not be a true con, but personally, I didn't care for the scent. Many say it's unscented, but rather than being fragrance-free, it smells just like an ointment. I don't dislike it, but it makes me think of medication, so I can't bring myself to apply it liberally haha! If you have dry skin with a lot of flaking, first exfoliate and then use this product for maximum effectiveness! Also, don't apply it right after cleansing. Make sure to use a hydrating toner first, then follow up with this cream! That's how you'll get the best results!! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinDec 24, 2021
- First off, I have oily skin prone to whiteheads and frequent inflammation. In winter, despite being oily, my skin gets extremely dry and irritated due to cold weather allergies. While using this product, I continued with my usual Anua toner and emulsion routine, along with Mediheal's Tea Tree Biome Blemish Cica Ampoule. - I've tried similar products from Dr. Jart+ and Avène's Cicalfate cream before. However, both seemed to work initially but ended up causing more inflammatory blemishes over time. So, I started using this product with a bit of apprehension. - Being a pharmaceutical company product, it felt more trustworthy than typical cosmetics. The cream is quite rich, so I applied it thinly in small amounts for better absorption. Fortunately, it suited my skin well without causing any adverse reactions. - I appreciated the tube packaging and used a cotton swab to dispense the product. The amount was easy to control, which was a plus. - I mainly applied this to areas where I had popped blemishes and the skin felt raw. Before using this, those areas would often form thin scabs that kept peeling, causing oozing. True to its skin barrier strengthening claim, this product prevented scab peeling and oozing, leading to faster wound healing! - I think it's great value for money! For a skin barrier strengthening product, the quantity is generous. - I'm quite sensitive to scents and can't use perfumes, hair products, or body products with strong fragrances. While this product doesn't have an overpowering scent, it did have a peculiar smell when applied. It made me wonder, 'What's that smell...?' - Like many rich creams, when applied generously to my oily skin, it felt greasy and didn't absorb well. - Since the product isn't particularly lightweight, I recommend using it as a final step in your nighttime routine rather than in the morning. Also, instead of applying a thick layer, it's best to use small amounts and spread it thinly for better absorption. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinDec 21, 2021
I felt like my skin was improving! The scent wasn't overpowering, so it wasn't overwhelming to use. It didn't have much effect on blemishes, unfortunately. While the scent wasn't unpleasant, it felt a bit medicinal when applying. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinDec 16, 2021
The Hwahae Testers Skin Type: I have sensitive combination skin! My T-zone gets oily while my U-zone feels dry and tight. Products with alcohol or harsh ingredients cause blemishes on my face. +I've had bad reactions to acne care skincare lines before, so I avoid products with fragrances. I know they'll cause breakouts. +When I applied La Roche-Posay B5 to my cheeks, it caused irritation. But when I used it on my forehead, it actually calmed the small bumps there. Ingredients & Scent: Looking at the ingredient list, I didn't see anything particularly concerning, which was reassuring! Since my skin is very sensitive to fragrances, I always check if skincare products are fragrance-free, especially for basic skincare items. I was happy to find this product is unscented! + However, there is a slight waxy scent typical of fragrance-free products. Those who dislike this kind of smell might be put off. (I'm used to fragrance-free products, so I don't really notice the difference.) Texture: This cream has a very thick consistency... The cream I usually use has a runny texture, but this one is almost like an ointment! I can see why it got low ratings for oily skin types... It's really rich. As I mentioned earlier, my skin gets painfully dry in winter, so I highly recommend this for winter use! Moisturizing Power & Absorption: This would be great for when my cheeks get chapped and irritated from masks in winter due to its excellent moisturizing power! However, because of its heavy texture, it doesn't absorb super quickly. It's best to apply this as the last step in your routine! Rather than using it in the morning before makeup, I'd suggest applying it at night. Your skin will be perfectly prepped for makeup the next morning! Application Experience: (I use the Rovectin line for all my basic skincare products!) I applied it in this order: Rovectin Cica (Toner, Skin Pack) → Rovectin Skin (Essence) → Rovectin Emulsion → This product I used to use Rovectin Cica Cream before this product, but since they seemed similar, I replaced it with this one. I tried it right after receiving the delivery, so I'll have to see how it feels in the morning. But the moisturizing power is really impressive! It's perfect for skin that gets flaky, dry, and painful in winter like mine! The gentle ingredients make it worry-free for sensitive skin. I applied it all over my face as a test, so we'll see what happens. I'll update with my thoughts tomorrow morning! Looking at my skin to take a photo, my cheeks seem fine, but I'm starting to feel a bit nervous... I'm definitely considering purchasing this... It's so good! When I woke up in the morning, my skin felt incredibly soft, and the pimples on my forehead had completely subsided! The small acne bumps on my chin had also calmed down! It almost feels like a cure-all...?! Volume + Price: Many creams these days come in 50ml sizes, so this one doesn't seem particularly small. However, if you ask if it'll last long... probably not. The amount feels a bit limited. Price-wise, it's a Hanmi Pharmaceutical product, which explains why it's a bit pricier like most pharmaceutical skincare products. But at 15,000 won, I think it's still reasonable! It might be a bit expensive for daily all-over face use, but it's great to apply when your face starts getting dry, especially on the cheeks! It should also be good for when your skin is feeling sensitive. Since it's supposed to strengthen the skin barrier, I'll keep using it until I see improvement! Knowing how good it is makes me want to use it daily, but the amount... it's not enough. If they could offer a larger size at a more affordable price, I'd feel more comfortable buying and using it regularly! Review after 2 weeks of use: I haven't found any downsides to this product yet! I actually like the unique scent of fragrance-free products... I'm usually wary of products with added fragrances. But if I had to point out a potential drawback, people who dislike the waxy scent might really not enjoy it... I wouldn't recommend it for oily skin types as it's too rich! I applied this cream over another cream, but when I used it alone without my usual cream, it didn't feel as rich! It really seems to be strengthening my skin barrier. My skin barrier seems to be genuinely improving. My skin has always been sensitive and prone to irritation, especially with mask-wearing, but it's starting to feel healthier. I'm considering purchasing this product again after I finish this one!
