The thick ointment-like cream is highly recommended for dry skin due to its rich oil content. Despite being oily, it doesn't feel sticky and creates a protective barrier that prevents moisture loss. I didn't experience any deep dryness after applying this cream. As a regenerating cream, it's gentle and effective in reducing redness. I was initially concerned it might feel heavy on my combination dehydrated skin, but using it in winter, it wasn't as heavy as I expected. However, after a few days of use, I noticed some blemishes appearing, so I changed my application method. I mixed the cream with toner to create a more fluid essence-like consistency. By focusing on hydration during the toner and essence steps, then applying a thin layer of this cream as a moisture-sealing barrier, I achieved great results - it addressed deep dryness and prevented blemishes. I was very satisfied with this approach. Possibly due to its pore-blocking ingredients, I experienced a few small blemishes, which led me to stop using it as directed. However, it was so effective at combating deep dryness that I modified my usage method. Despite this, I won't repurchase it and plan to find a winter cream that doesn't cause blemishes without needing to be mixed with toner. As mentioned above, if you mix the cream with toner to create an essence-like consistency and apply it in a thin layer, it prevents blemishes and effectively combats dryness. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinApr 21, 2024
This would be great for extremely dry skin... The fact that it's sold in pharmacies? That's definitely its strong point. It's the worst for oily skin. Not only does it cause tiny bumps, but even pustular acne... I trusted it because it's sold in pharmacies, but I wouldn't use it even if it were free. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinMar 7, 2023
My skin is super sensitive and even highly-praised products often cause blemishes, but this one seems gentle enough. I'm not sure if it's because of this product, but I'm getting small bumps like millet seeds on my skin. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 7, 2022
As someone with super sensitive skin, I love the ingredients. When I apply it before bed, I wake up to visibly improved skin texture the next morning. For some reason, if I apply it too thickly, I end up with occasional pustular blemishes. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinDec 27, 2021
The rich texture feels more nourishing and substantial rather than thin and lightweight. I loved how it left my skin feeling moisturized without any tightness, providing ample hydration and nourishment. As someone sensitive to fragrances, I found the subtle scent quite pleasant and not overpowering. As someone with combination-oily skin prone to blemishes, I noticed this cream, being more nourishing than hydrating, caused a few minor breakouts. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinDec 25, 2021
I'm writing this review after using the product I received as part of an event! First off, I love that it's a tube-type cream, making it so easy to control the amount. It's great that it can be kept hygienic too! The cream has a smooth application and absorbs quickly! With the cold winds lately, my skin has been cracking and dry, but after applying this, it feels nice and firm! After using it, I've noticed 1-2 blemishes popping up... I'm not entirely sure if this is the cause, but after using it, a couple of rather sizeable spots appeared. I'm a bit concerned about this. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinDec 24, 2021
- Skin type: Combination dehydrated skin - Key ingredients and fragrance: • Main ingredients are fermented components like Fusicoccum coccineum, Bifidobacterium, and Lactobacillus ferment filtrate • Glycerin and 1,3-butylene glycol provide hydration • Vitamin B5 (panthenol) keeps skin soft and smooth • Powerful antioxidant Vitamin E (tocopherol) aids in skin regeneration and elasticity • Gentle preservative 1,2-hexanediol is used • Fragrance-free with no allergens - Texture: • Slightly heavy and rich texture • Apply a small amount to hands, warm it up, then gently blend into skin (creates a protective layer) • Suitable for very dry or extremely dry skin year-round, recommended for oily skin in winter - Effects: • Fermented ingredients have smaller particles and increased potency of beneficial components like organic acids, amino acids, and vitamins • Quickly absorbs and repairs damaged skin barrier • Can be applied to face and body for intense hydration and to address flaking skin Contains fatty acids like palmitic acid and stearic acid, which may clog pores and potentially cause blemishes or acne for those with oily skin Due to its rich texture, warm the product between your fingers before applying to help it blend seamlessly into your skin - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinDec 24, 2021
Skin type: Combination + Combination dehydrated skin + Sensitive. In my youth, I had oily, acne-prone skin, but as an adult, I developed thin, sensitive skin prone to atopic dermatitis. Depending on the cosmetics I use, I can get blemishes or small bumps, and if I don't apply anything, my skin quickly becomes dry. Texture: Rich consistency. While not quite a balm, it's quite thick for a cream. However, when applied to the skin, it doesn't feel heavy or drag; instead, it spreads smoothly and easily. User experience: It feels like a solid protective barrier on my thin skin. In this winter weather, the power of your morning skincare routine before makeup is crucial. I needed a rich cream to lock in moisture over my usual cream, and this one applies with the thickness I was hoping for. When I use this cream as the final step in my skincare routine, it feels like it keeps my skin hydrated until I cleanse in the evening, without evaporating. Looking at the ingredients, I see 'Fusidium coccineum', which is apparently a medicinal ointment ingredient adapted for cosmetic use. In my opinion, it seems the key ingredient is similar to that in Fusi* ointment used for wounds. As it's an ointment ingredient for healing wounds, it definitely gave me the impression of strengthening the barrier of my thin skin. After diligently applying it for about three days, I noticed a few blemishes appearing, which I had been slightly worried about. It seems it might have been too rich for my skin. Looking at the ingredients, I see there are some pore-clogging components. For combination skin like mine, I'd recommend using it only in the evening or applying a small amount each time. This could be the perfect item for those with thin, dry skin who don't have to worry about blemishes! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinDec 18, 2021
My skin type is combination dehydrated, but during seasonal changes and winter, my entire skin becomes very dry and I sometimes get blemishes. Recently, my skin has been developing a lot of dead skin cells and deep dryness, so I was thrilled to win this rich hydrating cream. Sometimes when I layer thick products like this, I can break out, so I gradually increased the amount while monitoring my skin's reaction. I've been using it for about 5 days now, only applying my usual toner and this repair cream, without any makeup. As expected from a cosmetic made by a pharmaceutical company, it has an ointment-like design and is fragrance-free, with an application feel similar to applying ointment. I like that it's in a tube, making it easy to control the amount and hygienic to use. After using it, I could visibly see that my irritated, blotchy skin had calmed down and my skin texture had greatly improved. It helped replenish moisture and strengthen my skin barrier, eliminating any discomfort from dryness or tightness. It's a cream that provides both deep hydration and rich nourishment with its thick texture and smooth application. I was also glad that it significantly reduced itching. It's not a cream that absorbs immediately upon application, but rather slowly absorbs as you spread it. Despite its rich texture, once absorbed, it's not sticky and maintains moisture for a long time. It gives a slight glow without being greasy. I also appreciate that it's reasonably priced for a functional cream. I recommend this for those looking for a seasonal transition cream effective in strengthening the skin barrier and soothing care, those with sensitive skin from mask use, and those with severe deep dryness. As soon as we received the product, my mother and I tried it, but around the third day, we both developed a pus-filled blemish on our faces. My mother also has combination skin, and she hadn't been wearing makeup, only using this product, so it seems the ointment-like feel of this product might have caused the breakout. While it significantly calmed our red and bumpy skin, those with oily skin might want to be cautious. One downside might be that the purchase options are limited. I recommend applying a small amount before bed. It works well as a moisturizer, and you can also carry it around to use as a hand cream. The texture is also suitable for use as an eye cream for fine lines under the eyes. I'd also recommend it to those looking for an affordable anti-wrinkle functional cream. This product can be purchased at pharmacies and the official store, and information about selling pharmacies can be found on the Pro-Calm official website.
