  Pros

  The curling and fixing power is undoubtedly top-notch. It doesn't smudge even when wet. It truly excels at the core functions of a mascara.

  Cons

  The one I bought previously didn't transfer much during application, but when I repurchased it around late 2024, it transferred a bit while applying. After application, my eyes felt somewhat dry. The biggest issue is that I kept developing contact dermatitis symptoms around my eyes, so I don't think I can use it anymore. The skin above and just below my eyes turned red. I don't have particularly sensitive skin, so I wonder if the ingredients have changed? Anyway, it's disappointing.

  Pros

  It seems the formula has been updated. The product itself is great, and the ingredients are good. I was planning to use this forever.

  Cons

  Unfortunately, I developed an allergic reaction around my eyes, causing my eyelids to swell. Also, recently the mascara has been smudging terribly, which never happened before. I think the allergic reaction might be due to the last ingredient listed, which I found out is a known allergen. I've mentioned all the downsides above. Sadly, I'll have to switch to a different product now.

  Pros

  The liquid contains fibers that make your lashes look doll-like and longer. The deep black color is fantastic! The curved brush is great for applying the mascara thoroughly from root to tip.

  Cons

  Initially, controlling the amount of product was really challenging. It doesn't set immediately, so you need to wait a bit for it to dry. If you blink at the wrong moment, it smudges under your eyes, which is incredibly frustrating. Even though I have dry skin and used a mascara fixer, it still smudged terribly under my eyes, giving me panda eyes.

  Pros

  As someone with super straight lashes that make most mascaras droop, I'm amazed that Etude's doesn't budge at all. I've been loyal to this since high school!

  Cons

  I didn't notice much when wearing contacts, but applying this with bare eyes caused some irritation. I'm not particularly sensitive, but my mom, who has super sensitive skin, had tears streaming down her face from the burning sensation.

  Tip

  I used to pair this with Etude's mascara fixer, but when wearing a mask, it felt sticky and drooped more, probably due to the breath moisture. Personally, I prefer using it on its own!

  Pros

  I loved that it gave just the right amount of definition. It held my lashes up perfectly, keeping them nice and stiff.

  Cons

  It's quite difficult to remove, so I had to use oil and really work at it. Also, when it dries, it makes my lashes feel a bit hard and... itchy? If my lashes touch my skin or fall, it creates an irritating sensation.

  Tip

  For me... since it's quite noticeable when applied, I only put it on the very center of my lashes on the eye with longer lashes. It's just too much of a hassle to remove later otherwise.

  Pros

  The curling power is incredible, the staying power is amazing, and the hold is fantastic! It really lifts the lashes beautifully. I'm extremely satisfied with that aspect. The longevity is great too - even when I only use foam cleanser without eye makeup remover, the curl still holds. It's so tenacious that even cleansing oil doesn't remove it completely. Of course, for someone like me who doesn't wear heavy eye makeup and rarely uses eye makeup remover, this is both a pro and a con... it can be a bit of a hassle.

  Cons

  As mentioned above, the cleansing aspect is an issue. While the first one I bought didn't smudge much, the second one smudges terribly under my eyes. I loved the first one so much that I bought two, but now it's suddenly smudging. What's going on? You weren't like this before...

  Tip

  Use a small amount, apply it from the roots by gently pressing and lifting, then lightly brush the tips of your lashes. You'll get beautifully curled lashes.

  Pros

  This was my first time buying this mascara, and I'm impressed! It doesn't clump at all and stays on for ages. The best part? You can feel your lashes curling up the moment you apply it.

  Cons

  It's so hard to remove that if you make a mistake or try to wipe it off, you might end up pulling out your lashes. I was terrified when that happened!

  This product made me realize the importance of mascara. Until early last year, I used a different mascara, and back then, I thought my eyes looked prettier without it. Applying mascara made my eyes feel heavy and my expression intense. But then a friend gave me this mascara to try, and wow... it was amazing! Instead of making my eyes look weighed down, it made my lashes look naturally longer, as if they were already that long to begin with. There was no drooping either. When I wear this mascara, people compliment my eyelash curler or my naturally beautiful lashes. Before using this product, I didn't know mascara was so crucial in eye makeup, but now I always, always apply it when I do my makeup. It's been almost a year since I started using it.

  Cons

  If you don't cleanse thoroughly, some of the mascara can still be stuck on even after you've finished cleansing. I had to remove the remaining bits with my fingernails, which was a bit painful.

  Tip

  You know how important an eyelash curler is for mascara, right? Curl your lashes beautifully in three sections, then apply this mascara for gorgeous lashes.

  Stays put like nobody's business!

  Cons

  The performance is fantastic, but it triggers my allergies... I get some kind of reaction and my eyes swell up. Once I remove it, the symptoms disappear as if nothing happened. Also, the scent is overwhelmingly strong.
