Since it's 100% pure tea tree oil, those who find tea tree suitable for their skin can benefit from it greatly, even with a tiny amount. Its effectiveness depends on how you use it and your skin type.
ConsI wouldn't recommend mixing it with emulsions. It caused irritation around my eyes and on my skin. The bottle design makes it difficult to control the amount. You're supposed to tap it to get drops out, but it's not easy. When I tried to pour it, it leaked and spilled, which was disappointing.
TipMixing it with a modeling mask provided excellent cooling and soothing effects.

When acne flares up and turns red, I apply it directly. When I have breakouts all over, I mix it with my serum or cream, which really helps calm my skin. It's so versatile, I've been using it consistently.
ConsThere are no downsides! This is one of those rare, truly effective products. It's great for overall skin soothing and works well as a spot treatment too.
TipAdding a drop to your regular moisturizer and letting it absorb into your face is more effective than other soothing products. The cooling effect is particularly nice.

When applied to troubled areas, it provides a cooling sensation while soothing the skin. The next day, all the blemishes have noticeably calmed down.
ConsBe cautious with usage - it can cause a burning sensation. I recommend using it only twice a week.

Cons*As it's pure oil, there's a lingering strong tea tree scent after application. But I didn't mind it!
Tip*Regular cotton swabs tend to absorb too much oil, making it hard to apply. I highly recommend using Daiso's disposable makeup correction swabs instead!

I have combination dehydrated skin that's slightly sensitive with frequent blemishes that keep popping up periodically. During the recent Olive Young sale, I bought two bottles of this oil along with some cotton swabs. 1. Application: You apply it using a cotton swab, and they warn not to use too much to avoid irritation. When I dabbed it on, I felt a cooling effect. On days I applied more, it stung a bit, but rinsing with water helped. 2. Absorption: It absorbs quite quickly. I was worried that being an oil, it might cause more blemishes. But surprisingly, even big angry pimples calmed down significantly in just 3 days! I'll keep using this diligently until my graduation photo shoot. If you have oily skin, you might want to use it only on specific areas.
ConsThe only downside is the container lid. The opening makes it difficult for the product to come out easily.
TipPro tip: Mix 1-2 drops with a modeling mask for amazing soothing effects!

I used it thinking it would definitely calm my skin, and it was truly amazing! Right after application, it stings a bit, but gradually you feel a cooling effect that's so refreshing. It really lives up to the tea tree name, clearing up redness by the next day - absolutely fantastic! I used up almost the entire bottle in less than a month, so I've already repurchased it!
ConsThe strong, pungent scent of tea tree might be challenging for those sensitive to smells. I was fine with it, but just applying it near my mom made her avoid me, saying it smelled like medicinal ointment!
TipI found it difficult to apply precisely with a cotton swab over larger areas, so I mixed 1-2 drops of tea tree oil with my moisturizer and applied it all over my face! I was worried it might irritate my skin, but it worked out fine! I'm grateful for my resilient skin... If you have strong, confident skin like mine, I recommend mixing it with your cream or moisturizer for an all-over application. The results are definitely noticeable!

It absorbed quickly, which was nice. When applied to the skin, there's a pleasant cooling effect that made me like it even more. As the cooling effect slightly lingers, the oil dries completely, leaving the skin feeling dry. It's oil only when you apply it, but once absorbed, it's as if you didn't apply anything at all - it dries up completely. This aspect is really fascinating. For someone like me who dislikes stickiness, this might be the perfect product. And most importantly, regarding its effectiveness - I only applied a little bit to my problem areas, and amazingly, they calmed down as if nothing had happened. I'm very satisfied that I saw soothing effects in just 3 days and highly recommend this product.
ConsWhile this product is packed with great ingredients, to be honest, the tea tree leaf scent is so strong that I can't recommend it to those sensitive to fragrances. Especially since it's a product applied to the face. The scent doesn't dissipate and remains almost unchanged. This is an unavoidable aspect, but it's really disappointing.
TipIt's good to use as a spot treatment by applying it to a cotton swab. I apply this oil before the final cream step in my skincare routine.

I'm currently using a blend of Centella Asiatica extract, Houttuynia Cordata extract, Resurrection Plant extract, and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid toner with about 10 drops of tea tree oil. I apply this generously all over my face, almost to the point of saturation. The results are amazing - I haven't had a single breakout, and even if a tiny blemish appears, it disappears quickly. It also has a refreshing feel, providing a nice cooling effect. I found using it on small areas wasn't noticeable or effective for me, so I prefer mixing it into my toner for all-over use.
ConsIf I had to nitpick, I'd say the scent is quite strong and it's a bit difficult to get the product out of the container. I'm currently using 10 drops mixed into my toner, and even though my previous Centella and Houttuynia extracts had a medicinal scent that wasn't exactly mild, the tea tree fragrance completely overpowers the toner. I'm planning to reduce it to 8 drops next time.
TipI have acne-prone and sensitive skin that easily becomes red, flaky, and erupts in blemishes when it's even slightly dry or irritated. My current toner mix is: 4 parts Centella extract, 4 parts Houttuynia extract, 1 part Resurrection Plant extract, 1 part low molecular weight hyaluronic acid, and 10 drops of tea tree oil. Be careful with hyaluronic acid - too much can sting your eyes and skin. The tea tree scent is quite strong, so I'm considering reducing it from 10 to 8 drops. This homemade toner has a water-like consistency that absorbs quickly. If I feel a breakout coming, I mix it with aloe for a face mask. You can saturate your face with this toner without any adverse effects - in fact, my skin has improved dramatically. I highly recommend this for those with sensitive, acne-prone skin.

I mixed 1-2 drops of tea tree oil with my moisturizing toner, and it was perfect. It has a cooling effect, and the scent isn't too overpowering. I'd recommend this for all skin types, whether you mix it or use it as a spot treatment. It's great for adding a soothing effect to your toner or upgrading your skincare routine.
ConsI don't recommend using 3 drops when mixing. The cooling sensation is extremely strong, and the scent becomes too intense. Whether you're mixing or spot-treating, one drop is more than enough.
TipMany people say it's difficult to control the amount, but if you don't shake it and just turn the bottle upside down, one or two drops will fall out easily.

It feels so soothing the moment you apply it. I think this product is really effective for calming blemishes!! To be honest, I only used it for about two days due to lack of time, but I can already see why it's gained a reputation for being great at soothing acne.
ConsThis doesn't seem to be a product that shows noticeable results overnight. It's probably meant for consistent use and long-term care. Also, for red acne, it seems to work more on bringing it to a head rather than making it disappear magically. So don't expect instant results. It didn't have any effect on small bumps at all... And the scent is quite strong, which might be polarizing for some people.
