After using it for over two weeks, I really felt this product was perfect for summer. Despite my skin type not typically absorbing emulsions or oils well, this absorbed quite nicely. I was also reassured by its gentle ingredients. Plus, after researching online, I found out they don't do animal testing, which made the product even more appealing to me.
ConsWhen it touched sensitive areas of my skin, I felt a slight burning sensation.
TipWhile it's a really great product for summer, it might feel too light for winter. I'd recommend using this emulsion in seasons other than winter.

When I first applied it, there was a slight tingling sensation, but it was fine afterwards. The texture is very fluid, which I prefer over thick formulas. It doesn't cause my makeup to pill, it's gentle, and doesn't cause any blemishes. I had a recent breakout on my cheek, but after applying this twice, it disappeared. I use this instead of toner, applying the ampoule first, and then follow with cream. It can feel a bit rich, but I'm diligently patting it in. I have mild seborrheic dermatitis that worsens when my skin is dry, but I can apply this generously without worry. I'll decide whether to repurchase after finishing the whole bottle.
ConsGiven my age, it's a bit disappointing that it doesn't have any whitening or anti-wrinkle functions.
TipI don't have any special tips, just apply it as usual.

Even though I thought I didn't get along well with aloe-based products before, this one was great to use without any irritation! It's perfect for frequent use when the scorching heat arrives.
ConsAs someone with combination dehydrated skin, especially with dry-combination areas on the cheeks, around the nose, and cheekbones, this product alone wasn't enough as a final step. I had to either reapply or layer it with products of different textures. However, looking at the long term, except for the fall transitional period and winter, using this as the sole base skincare product and applying a slightly rich sunblock could make for a satisfying day care routine! It will certainly strengthen your skin too. It's simple care after all!
TipI applied it generously, pumping out enough to apply a thick layer on the dry-combination areas, letting it absorb first, then using the remaining amount to finish on the more oily areas.

First off, true to its name as an 'essence-in-emulsion', I loved how it was moisturizing without being too sticky. It's perfect for those who dislike that tacky finish, especially during summer. The ingredients are gentle, and it worked well for my sensitive, acne-prone skin without causing any irritation. I think it would be great for those with oily skin looking for light, refreshing hydration in the summer.
ConsFor those with dry skin or deep dryness, this alone might not provide enough moisture. While the essence-in-emulsion aims to be an all-in-one product, that could actually be a drawback. I felt that the traditional method of applying essence followed by cream maintained a thicker, more protective moisture barrier.
TipIn the morning, I used a boosting or first essence to refine my skin texture and provide initial hydration, then finished with this emulsion. For the evening, as I felt it wasn't quite moisturizing enough on its own, I added a cream as the final step in my morning routine.

Here's my review, in order of importance: 1. Gentleness & Blemish-free? First week: Used without any issues or blemishes! Midway through, I noticed some small bumps around my nose and mouth, possibly from wearing a mask. I stopped using all skincare products, including this one, and used a modeling mask to calm my skin. Once it settled, I resumed using this product without any problems! So far, it seems gentle enough for my sensitive skin. 2. Moisture retention On a scale of low-medium-high, I'd say medium. It might be because it's summer, and my skin isn't particularly dry. In the morning, I use one pump, and in the evening, two pumps. One pump provides enough moisture to prevent skin tightness. 3. Fragrance Truly fragrance-free, which is great. 4. Rich feeling It doesn't absorb immediately upon application. At first, I thought it might be oily, but after a while, it absorbs well, leaving just a slight glow. Almost no oily feeling! 5. Price & Quantity While I received this as part of the Hwahae Testers program, I think the price is quite reasonable for this quantity, especially with discount coupons. Of course, this assumes it proves gentle enough for sensitive skin. 6. Texture It's like a more fluid moisturizer. 7. Doesn't pill even when layered under makeup.
ConsSo far, I haven't found any significant downsides. This isn't really a downside, just additional information... Be sure to check the natural-derived ingredients carefully. If certain natural ingredients don't suit your skin, they can do more harm than good (speaking from experience).
TipRecommended for: Those who dislike sticky creams in summer, and those who want a gentle yet moisturizing product for quick morning application! I always apply this after using more concentrated products like essences or serums, and I find this layering method works well.

There's absolutely no irritation, so I don't feel any discomfort using it. Since I started using this product, I've stopped using toner. It feels like a combination of toner, essence, and emulsion all in one. It's incredibly hydrating and absorbs well into the skin. The moisturizing effect lasts long - I don't feel dry even until evening. When applied at night, my skin stays hydrated until morning. It's not sticky and feels light, so I think it would suit all skin types. It's 150ml for 39,000 won. The pump-type container is hygienic and the bottle is lightweight. January 24, 2021 update: I'm still using it well in winter. I use a cream on top for an extra protective layer.
ConsI used this during summer and it was great, but since it's quite light, I'm not sure about its moisturizing power in winter. I'll need to keep using it to find out. I wish the price was a bit more affordable.
TipI used this Dr. Alga Taecho Alobru Essence-in-Emulsion along with my regular emulsion. Even without using toner and moisturizer, just applying these two emulsions was enough for my skin.

When I first received this product, it was during my menstrual cycle, so my skin was in an extremely sensitive state. I had just finished the serum I was using as the last step in my skincare routine, so for about a week, I applied toner and then finished my skincare with this Dr. Alga product. There were two main things I liked: 1. It doesn't cause blemishes Usually, because of my sensitive skin, I tend to break out when I change my skincare routine. However, this product seems to be so gentle that even when I applied it generously day and night, I didn't experience any blemishes at all. 2. It's suitable for use before makeup The texture is neither too rich nor too light, making it perfect for use before applying makeup. The cosmetics layered on top don't pill, and initially, it gave my makeup a slight Inner Glow effect.
ConsThe downsides are: 1. It doesn't have a dramatic soothing effect While it doesn't seem to be primarily marketed as a soothing product, most people with sensitive skin often expect a calming effect from their basic skincare products. This product doesn't particularly soothe the skin. It won't cause blemishes, but it won't help clear up existing ones either! 2. It doesn't deeply hydrate the skin Because I have dehydrated skin, I prefer products that provide deep hydration. This product offers just enough moisture for summer use. If your skin is in poor condition and particularly dry, this product alone might not be sufficient.
TipThis is a very reliable product for sensitive, blemish-prone skin to use as a daily skincare item in summer.

It's already humid, and it's getting even more humid, so the emulsion I was using before felt particularly rich for this summer. However, I was lucky enough to win and try the Taechu Essence-in-Emulsion, and I'm so glad to have found such a gentle and great product! The texture is very thin, so I'm not using it as an emulsion but rather as an essence. It's moisturizing and absorbs particularly well, which I really like. I think it might be a bit much for dry skin, but it would be perfect for normal or oily skin types. While it doesn't have any extraordinary features like intense hydration, I think it's a cosmetic product that has all the basics well covered.
Cons1. It doesn't seem to address deep dryness. My extremely dry forehead feels like it needs something extra before applying this emulsion. 2. The pump is a bit disappointing. Instead of a smooth 'whoosh-whoosh' when pressing, it's more of a 'pick!pick-', making it difficult to control the amount. I end up timidly pressing it multiple times... haha!
TipGiven its large size, those who dislike the rich feel typical of hand creams might find it nice to apply on the back of their hands.

Incredibly hydrating! When applied, it gives an amazing glow while being super moisturizing. It's not just moisturizing, but it has this dewy, almost damp feel that I absolutely adore. 2. Gentle ingredients are a plus! I usually have super sensitive skin and even with the mildest masks, my face can turn red. I was a bit worried, but this didn't cause any irritation at all. In fact, it felt soothing. I'm truly impressed! 3. Makeup applies beautifully over it! This is subjective, but when I apply makeup after using this, it seems to adhere so well. I used to think my previous cream helped my makeup go on smoothly, but this one is at least three times better! That's why I've been using it every day lately.
ConsCons: The scent is not great While I don't usually prioritize fragrance, I have to say the smell isn't particularly pleasant. It has a slight coconut scent, but it's not exactly appealing.
TipPro tip: Before bed, gently pat a bit on your cheeks and forehead. You'll wake up with incredibly hydrated skin!

Skin type: I have combination dehydrated skin that gets oily and sensitive over time! So I tend to use gentle products, with lighter ones in summer and deep hydrating ones in winter. Application: With hyaluronic acid, it feels really moisturizing, light, and hydrating. The texture is super smooth and applies easily! Absorption: It absorbs quickly, making it incredibly lightweight and pleasant. Perfect for summer as both an essence and emulsion. Consistency: It's not runny, but stays put when squeezed out as shown in the photo. However, it feels moisturizing when applied. Scent: Being fragrance-free gives it a healthy vibe. The packaging is so organic-looking and cute... It's like a pure baby emulsion. I'll definitely reach for this product in summer.
ConsVolume: As you can see in the photo, they obviously provided the correct amount, but it oddly looked like someone had used it. I guess it felt that way because it wasn't completely full. That photo was taken right after I received it. Season: It probably won't work as a standalone essence or emulsion in winter, but it seems perfect for providing that moisturizing middle step in summer and other seasons! Honestly, there aren't many downsides. With skincare, if it gives you exactly what you want for the price, what more could you ask for, right?
TipIn the morning before work, I used it like this: booster - toner - this product. In the evening: houttuynia cordata - Lancome essence - this product - essence - emulsion - cream. My skin was super irritated due to mask-wearing and the rainy season, but this product seemed to soothe and calm it. Also, I give my skin a break one day a week (Sundays) by not applying anything. I only used this on chin blemishes caused by masks (it's good for acne too), and they disappeared in just a day or two. It really seems like a gentle product. Recommended for: * Those who prefer gentle, fragrance-free products * When you want a light texture with adequate hydration * If you're tired of separate essences and emulsions and want an all-in-one product
