But those concerns were unfounded as I'm using it well. It feels so comfortable on my dry, sensitive skin. I used to avoid sunscreens because they made my skin feel stuffy, itchy, dry, and tight. Mineral sunscreens that claimed to be gentle and moisturizing would dry out my skin and cause blemishes, while chemical ones that promised hydration would burn or pill off like dead skin cells. But this one is truly comfortable! It doesn't cause any small bumps, and if you can't find another amazing sunscreen, this could be your go-to. As for the benefits of chemical sunscreens like easy application and no white cast, I don't need to explain those. # Absorption To be honest, it doesn't seem to absorb super quickly. But as someone with dry skin, I use a routine of toner-serum-barrier cream-sunscreen, so slower absorption is expected! Considering that, I'd say it absorbs reasonably well. # Hydration & Moisturization Since the weather has cooled down and I'm using a heavier cream, it's hard to tell how long the hydration lasts. However, I haven't experienced any dryness or excess oil over time. Even when I only applied serum before the sunscreen, I didn't feel any deep dryness. As I mentioned earlier, the skin feels comfortable, which I think is due to the good oil and moisture balance.
Cons# Pilling Unfortunately, there is a bit of pilling. This is a chronic issue with moisturizing chemical sunscreens. However, it's much less than the Hygge vegan sunscreen I used before. That one would pill off like dead skin cells with just a light touch, but this one is fine if you apply a thin layer of moisturizer and let it absorb well during your skincare routine. # Longevity I'm really not sure about this. The label claims it lasts long, but when I use it, my skin feels so comfortable that I'm not sure. It seems to wash off easily with water, so I feel like I need to reapply every few hours. That's why I keep one at work too. (Maybe that's why it's a 1+1 deal?) # Irritation It would be a lie to say there's none at all. The first time I used this, after extracting sebum between my nostrils and using essence-emulsion-sunscreen, I felt a burning sensation around my philtrum and nose. It seems to sting a bit if used on scratched or irritated skin. So I washed my face again and used essence-cream-sunscreen, which was fine. Therefore, while there might be some irritation when your skin isn't in good condition, it's okay once it's fully absorbed. As someone with sensitive skin who often reacts to products claiming to be gentle, I'm currently using this very well. Even the areas that briefly stung didn't develop any small bumps or blemishes.
TipRather than rubbing and patting to absorb like a cream, try spreading it thinly on your skin with your ring finger, like spreading jam on bread. It will absorb on its own. However, I liked that it doesn't feel heavy or cakey when reapplied. Try testing the sunscreen at Olive Young by applying your usual skincare products thinly on the back of your hand first. Don't forget to rub the back of your hand after five minutes to check for pilling.

It has a moisturizing cream-like texture without any white cast. I had no issues applying it before makeup.
ConsThere's a slight stinging sensation around the eyes, and it feels like it doesn't last very long. Since this sunscreen is more like a moisturizer, layering it with other skincare products might lead to excessive richness.

(Combination dehydrated skin, Male) Just as I ran out of my previous sunscreen (Dr. G Green Mild Up Sun Plus), I was lucky enough to be selected for this test. The biggest advantages I noticed while using this product are: 1. A lightweight, moisturizing texture with excellent absorption 2. Low irritation Firstly, regarding the texture, true to its 'sun essence' name, it's thinner than typical sunscreens and applies smoothly like an emulsion. The incredibly light and watery formula means there's almost none of that sticky, uncomfortable feeling often associated with sunscreens. I'm very satisfied with how it feels on the skin! The product seems to have a good oil and moisture balance. On busy days, I feel it would be fine to skip essence or cream steps after cleansing and toning, and go straight to this product. I hardly felt any deep dryness after use. Given its formula, there's absolutely no white cast, but also no brightening effect. Typically, sunscreen needs to be applied thoroughly to adhere to the skin, which can cause some friction. I actually started using this product the morning after a laser treatment at the dermatologist, and there was no irritation immediately after application or any blemishes later. No eye stinging either. The fact that there was no reaction even when my skin was extremely sensitive really drove home how gentle this product is. The scent is also close to 98% fragrance-free, so it should be fine for those with sensitive skin. I also love the beautiful product design that fits comfortably in your hand!
ConsWhile there aren't many significant drawbacks, I do feel that due to its formula, it might not last as long. The watery texture makes me think it could easily be washed away by sweat during summer activities. (However, this also means it's not burdensome to reapply frequently!) If you're going to be outdoors for extended periods, a cream-type sun care product might be more suitable.
TipSince it's such an easy-to-apply type, you might tend to use it generously, so be careful as it may not be as cost-effective.

The packaging is absolutely gorgeous too...!
ConsWhile it pairs nicely with foundation and cushions, it has the typical sunscreen drawback of somewhat lower staying power...
TipEven those with oily skin can apply it well using a wedge puff - it's great!

Current skin condition & overall impression ✔Combination dehydrated skin, blemishes present, sensitive My skin is currently at its most sensitive, so using incompatible products immediately causes blemishes. I was worried about applying this, but to summarize my overall impression, I'd say 'I recommend it👍.' The presence of hyaluronic acid, a famous ingredient for hydration, caught my eye. 2. User experience ✔Hydration: True to its name as an essence, it felt moisturizing. However, the moisturizing effect doesn't last long.⚠️ So if you have dry skin and bought this expecting it to be a primary essence, you might find it drier than anticipated!⚠️ It was perfect for my oily skin though. ✔Rich feel: There was no oiliness at all, which was a relief when I first applied it. No blemishes appeared after use, and there was no significant irritation. ✔White cast: None at all!! It was great to be able to use it comfortably anytime, anywhere. Skin condition after application: With my previous sunscreen, I always had to use powder due to its oiliness, but with the By Blanc Doux Sun Essence, I hardly needed to use powder at all. It also seemed to minimize makeup breakdown that usually occurs after a few hours when sunscreen and makeup oils mix. ✔Scent: It's not strong, but there seems to be a slight fragrance. I was fine with it, but I noticed some others didn't like it! ⚠️If you're sensitive to fragrances, you might want to check it carefully before buying.⚠️ (It's like unscented, but not quite!) You can't smell it when applied to your hand, but you can when you open the lid and sniff. ✔Stickiness: There's no stickiness at all!! It seems to have addressed the drawbacks of sunscreen well.👌
Cons⚠️You should be aware that the moisturizing effect doesn't last.⚠️ Due to its essence-like characteristics, it feels very moisturizing when first applied, but it absorbs quickly. It might feel like you haven't applied anything. (I even wondered if it was actually blocking UV rays.) I didn't really notice any drawbacks. I can say it's suitable for oily and combination skin, but for those with dry skin, I'd recommend ✔testing it✔ before purchasing.
TipBecause the moisturizing effect doesn't last, you should ✔apply your base products✔ well before using this. When I tested it, even applying multiple thin layers didn't maintain the moisturizing effect for long. Make sure to apply your usual moisturizing base products!! For those with extremely oily skin, I recommend lightly patting on a bit of ✔powder✔ after applying sunscreen!
