They have antioxidant and soothing effects respectively. To start, I have used anti-aging serums with black tea ingredients similar to kombucha without any issues. I also have no trouble with enzyme powders or fermented ingredients. In the mornings, I usually apply a high-concentration pure vitamin C ampoule for antioxidant protection. But during the hot summer or when I'm outdoors a lot, I sometimes skip the antioxidant product altogether as I'm worried it might make me look darker. And when my skin is sensitive, the pure vitamin C can be too irritating. So the kombucha product's ability to provide antioxidant benefits gently and without irritation is great. At night, I use retinol and niacinamide, and I've heard pure vitamin C can be too harsh when used with those ingredients, so having an antioxidant product I can use alongside them is helpful. Antioxidants are important in the morning, and a kombucha toner is lightweight and non-greasy, making it easy to apply before makeup. The texture is more like an essence than a watery toner, which I prefer since I don't usually use toners. It's not overly sticky either. As a oily-skinned person, applying this first and then my hyaluronic acid ampoule and squalane cream means my skin doesn't feel tight or dry before makeup. The packaging is also very luxurious and nice-looking, which brightens my mood to have it displayed on my vanity. These days, I think mood and aesthetics are just as important as efficacy when it comes to product competitiveness. In conclusion, the key advantages are that it provides gentle, non-irritating anti-aging benefits, and the lightweight texture works well for oily skin and before makeup.
ConsThe lack of irritation is an advantage, but there is still no noticeable immediate effect. Compared to the popular antioxidant vitamin C, the lack of visible whitening effects could be a weakness. Low risk, low return... However, anti-aging products often reveal their true value a few years down the line. Moreover, the fact that it does not burden the skin is a significant advantage.
TipThe fact that it has mild stimulation is an advantage, but there is still no noticeable immediate effect. The formula is light, absorbs quickly, and provides good moisture replenishment:) Of course, you can't expect just a toner to provide full moisturizing, but this is satisfactory. The toner I was using before was light, but it made my face too oily, which was difficult, but this is satisfactory. I'm the type who uses up toners quickly, and I've tried many products, but this fermented kombucha toner is a first for me.
ConsI'm not sure about the whitening effects. But since I didn't expect whitening from a toner, that's not a downside :D

So when I use basic skincare, I tend to use products with a lot of moisture. This time, I was selected as a Hwahae Trial Reviewer and got to try the Kombu Balancing Ampoule. This is a basic ampoule that allows for a non-burdensome daily care routine. It seems to contain ingredients that address the basic areas that need care (moisture, whitening, etc.). It seems to particularly focus on the moisture aspect, and yet it doesn't feel sticky at all - it absorbs smoothly and softly after application. Compared to the watery formulas I've used before that would often slip through my fingers, this product has a suitable viscosity, so less of it gets wasted. And despite its viscosity, it doesn't feel sticky at all, which is great. The moisture level is just right - not too much that it leaves my face feeling sticky after application, requiring me to wipe it off again before bed. I can just apply this and then put on other skincare products on top, and go straight to sleep. At the same time, my face doesn't feel dry or lacking in moisture at all. This seems like a basic product that can be used comfortably throughout the seasons, from winter to summer. As for the whitening effects, I haven't noticed any results yet. Whitening products typically don't show immediate effects, so I'll have to continue using it to see if any changes occur over time.
ConsThere's nothing really bad about it!! If I had to point out something, it would be that the whitening effect is quite mild. But even that's not a major downside, as it's a common issue with other whitening products too. I think the real test would be to see the effects after using it consistently over time.
TipSince the product itself is mainly focused on hydration, it's a good idea to use a product that can supplement the oil content after use. Looking at this, it can be a bit dry after application, but using a lotion or other oil-based product together will help the moisture last much longer.
