I've been using this for about 3 months, and I love how well it holds my hair in place. Unlike wax or hairspray, it provides a natural-looking hold, which I really appreciate. If you have an oily scalp, using this for extended periods might make your hair look excessively greasy. The Grooming Tonic has a vanilla scent, while the Hair Tonic has a refreshing fragrance. I wish they'd release a cool-scented version of the Grooming Tonic as well. - a0**********Oily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedSep 29, 2024
I chose this grooming tonic over others solely based on its scent. The others, frankly, smell quite off-putting. I can confidently say this fragrance is universally appealing compared to other products. It also does a great job taming frizzy hair. As someone with extremely flat hair that's usually difficult to style, I bought this hoping for better hold. However, the styling power isn't significantly better than using nothing at all. It's only marginally better than not using any product. I'm using it mainly as a heat protectant on days I use a hair dryer or straightener. This might work better for those with naturally voluminous hair or thicker strands. Apply after towel-drying your hair. - ci*****Oily SkinSensitive SkinAug 3, 2024
I loved how it tamed my frizzy hair and gave it a nice shape. The fragrance is also delightful. Unfortunately, it caused some hair damage. There's also a bit of stickiness to it. - sn****Dry SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedJun 16, 2024
It works well when I run my fingers through my boyfriend's hair. It seems to hold nicely without being too much. The scent isn't quite satisfying enough for my taste. - su*********Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedNov 1, 2023
Love how I can style my hair exactly how I want when I apply this to damp hair before blow-drying. It's a great product for keeping your hairstyle in place. It applies more smoothly and looks more natural than other grooming tonics. The scent is pleasant and not off-putting. Other products often smell like overpowering men's cologne or old-fashioned aftershave, which I really dislike. This one has a nice sweet and tangy fragrance. The residue left on your hands after application is a bit unpleasant. Being a liquid, it tends to drip and feels a bit slippery. It dries quickly, but leaves your hands feeling dry and rough afterwards. Also, it's quite pricey. While you don't need to use a lot each time, I still think it's expensive for the amount you get. Make sure to use it on damp hair, otherwise it'll make your hair stiff and unmanageable. - gu*****Combination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJul 24, 2023
Applying it to damp hair before drying helps tame frizz and shape your style. It's also great for a light finishing touch after styling. The thin consistency can be a bit messy as it runs through your fingers. If that bothers you, a spray version might be more convenient. For a wet-look style, try using this tonic instead of pomade, and finish with a water-based spray for hold. This method gives you an easy, clump-free wet style. - tj********Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJul 15, 2023
When used consistently on weekdays, try this routine: Blow-dry your hair, style it with a flat iron, and add volume where needed. Then apply the product naturally to your hair. It gives a slight shine, but the hold isn't too strong, so styling can be tricky. It's best to style your hair first, then apply the product. If you've got good looks, this will enhance your natural charm. Overall, using it is a good choice. The hold is quite weak. The scent might vary slightly from person to person. As a guy, I found it okay. Be careful not to apply too much, as the smell can become overwhelming. Use in moderation! - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinJul 5, 2023
I decided to check it out and leave a review since it's a top seller at Olive Young, hehe I'll update with any drawbacks after I've had more time to think about it - as*******Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsJun 4, 2023
The scent is lovely, and it provides a bit of hold. After drying my hair, that dry, straw-like feeling has disappeared. However, the hold is so weak that you'd need to use hairspray or other products if you want any real styling power. I'm mainly using it as a heat protectant when blow-drying. Also, it's a bit on the pricey side. - ks*********Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinMay 19, 2023
It seems to be a product that's comfortable to use when your skin is dry and has good setting power, just as many people recommend. The ingredients aren't very good, unfortunately. While it's effective, I had an allergic reaction on my forehead and temples after using it just once. Make sure to do a patch test before using it on your face.
