This is my go-to cushion foundation for everyday use, except during winter. What I love about it is how effortlessly it applies - you don't need any special techniques to get a beautiful finish. The staying power is impressive, which is why I find myself reaching for it so often. And when I think of Banila Co, I immediately think of their color range. This particular shade is a gorgeous ivory that really complements my complexion. I've been using this cushion daily, except during winter. It has a semi-matte formula, which can feel a bit drying on the skin during the colder months. - Hwahae UserDry SkinNov 8, 2024
As someone with dry skin who loves a matte finish, I've been on the hunt for semi-matte foundations. This one stands out among all I've tried - it's not overly drying, which is fantastic. Usually, I need shade 23 or 22, which often come in very beige tones. But this one's different, and I absolutely love that about it! Given its matte properties, it does tend to make my skin feel a bit dry over time. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 31, 2024
Despite having large pores on my nose, butterfly zone, and chin, with a thorough skincare routine and careful application, it provides good coverage. The compact case is also quite pretty. Like many cushions these days, even the shade 23 is too light. It feels a bit heavy on the skin. For combination dehydrated or very oily skin, it initially causes deep dryness and later feels tight. It doesn't reduce oil production or improve longevity. The extreme dryness seems to increase oil production. When it breaks down, it settles into pores, clumps up white around nose creases, and looks patchy and cakey all over. Touch-ups make it look powdery but extremely floaty and clumpy. It's not suitable for touch-ups. It's crucial to address deep dryness before application. However, be cautious not to layer too many creams in an attempt to combat dryness, as this can cause the makeup to slide off. Opt for a quick-absorbing, hydrating product instead. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSep 17, 2024
I bought this cushion after hearing good things about its coverage. While it applies a bit thick, I'm satisfied with how well it covers. I'd recommend this to anyone who likes to complete their base makeup with just one product. Those with dry skin might find it a bit tight or uncomfortable. Try testing it out at Olive Young before purchasing. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinFeb 3, 2024
Attention oily / combination skin types and those worried about makeup meltdown! Give the Banila Co cushion a try. I'm already on my 5th one! As a full-time cafe barista working 10-hour shifts, I'd apply makeup at 11 AM and not remove it until after 10 PM. Believe me, this cushion doesn't budge! Cafe workers know the struggle with hot machines and constant customer service, but this little champion stays put for the entire 10-hour shift. It's the first cushion that's survived my cafe job. The application is smooth with minimal patchiness. The coverage is fantastic too! Even with my problematic skin, it gives me that flawless 'egg-white' complexion. For those stressed about pores like me, using it with Banila Co's primer is a game-changer - the pore coverage is unreal! I prefer 23 as I don't like an overly pale look. It's slightly lighter than other brands' 23, similar to most 22 ivory shades. Perfect for those who find 21 too light and 23 too dark! I recommend this to everyone I know. I'm not sponsored, I just genuinely want everyone to try it! Key points: long-lasting, no patchiness, skin-like finish, great coverage. It might feel a bit dry in winter. As someone with oily skin, I manage by focusing on skincare, but those with dry skin might experience some flaking. If you have very dry skin but still want to try it, I'd recommend Banila Co's pink cushion instead! A friend tried it and loved it. Highly recommended when: You can't touch up your makeup outside, You need long-lasting coverage, You're too lazy for touch-ups, You want your makeup to last until you get home from work! For those concerned about pores, try it with Banila Co's primer. The pore coverage is perfect! My pores are like mini volcanoes, but with this combo? Hello, egg-white skin! - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinJan 22, 2024
As someone with acne-prone skin and large pores, I wasn't fully satisfied with the coverage and had to use concealer. But keep in mind, I used this because my skin was in pretty bad shape, so others might not need to! The skin finish is amazing and the staying power is fantastic. I found it a bit tricky to control. With my dry skin, it works well if I lock in moisture before applying. However, if I don't prep my skin thoroughly, I can feel deep dryness and notice it settling into my skin texture. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJan 16, 2024
The coverage is truly excellent and it applies smoothly. Shade 23 isn't too dark, so I'd recommend it for those with a slightly tanned complexion. As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I found it sat on my skin and felt quite drying. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinNov 18, 2023
The coverage is way better than I expected! It really does an amazing job at concealing blemishes. It felt a bit drying on my skin. While it wasn't terrible, I noticed it seemed to flake a little. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 25, 2023
I was worried it might be too light, but the shade was perfect. It's the ultimate cushion for oily skin types! If you have dry skin, you might feel deep dryness. While the staying power is good, it does feel a bit dehydrating. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinSensitive SkinSep 25, 2023
This cushion provides full coverage with just a small amount. Although it's labeled as shade 23, it's more like a classic 22 with a bright, radiant color. The tone is well-balanced, leaning towards a peachy-neutral shade. Even with minimal application, it effectively conceals blemishes. I didn't notice any darkening either. Among all the drugstore cushions I've tried, this one has been the most satisfying. I have combination dehydrated skin, and even after applying plenty of hydration, I still felt a slight dryness. This might be challenging for those with dry skin to use. The color comes out a bit lighter, so people who typically use a true 23 or darker might find it looks a bit off on their skin. You need to use much less product compared to other cushions for a natural finish! Since it's a matte cushion with high coverage, using the same amount as other cushions will result in a very thick layer. Below, I've swatched it on my wrist for comparison. From top to bottom: Dior Skin Glow 2N, Banila Co White Cushion 23 Medium, and Clio Mesh Glow Ginger. Dior is the darkest, while Ginger is the lightest.
