The bar was attached to an environmentally-friendly string, which was surprisingly sturdy and perfect for hanging up for use. It lathers up generously with just a bit of water, making it suitable even for long hair. Oh, and the curved shape is cleverly designed for easy application and creating rich foam on the head. The aloe scent is natural and pleasant, not artificial at all - great for a shampoo fragrance.
ConsThe main drawback of shampoo bars is typically the after-feel. Compared to liquid shampoos, there's an inevitable stiffness to the hair. However, I'd say this bar doesn't leave hair feeling excessively stiff for a solid shampoo. Also, while it's quite a thick bar, I noticed it might get used up quicker than expected depending on hair length, even after just a few uses.
TipYou could use this bar for thoroughly cleansing the scalp, and a separate shampoo for the lengths if you have long hair. Interestingly, kids who usually dislike hair washing seemed to love this - it might be great for children's hair. Also, its compact size makes it perfect for travel!

Personally, I found it quite appealing without any strong likes or dislikes. I immediately used it to wash my hair twice, and surprisingly, it lathered up nicely with a good rolling sensation. It left my hair soft, not stiff, which was satisfying. Currently, my scalp has become oily, leading to an increase in sebum and odor, which has been a big concern. However, this shampoo cleaned surprisingly well, leaving my scalp feeling squeaky clean. The next morning, when I touched my scalp and smelled it, I was amazed to find that the usual strong odor was noticeably reduced. The aloe ingredient is gentle, and with a pH of 5.5-6, it's slightly acidic, making it easy to use without any major drawbacks. Also, after use, it doesn't melt or drip, drying neatly when hung up, which makes it convenient for the next use. The shape of the bottle is ergonomic and easy to grip when wet, adding to its user-friendly design. Overall, I'm quite pleased with it.
ConsWhile I was satisfied with my initial use, by the third and fourth day of continued use, I felt like some soap-like ingredient was building up on my scalp, making it feel unclean and coated. This led to about 2-3 small blemishes getting ready to surface. As days went by, I couldn't feel that refreshing cleanliness, which was personally disappointing.
TipIt's nice that when hung in the bathroom, it acts like an air freshener with its pleasant scent. Given its subtle and nice fragrance, it might be worth trying to use it just on the ends of your hair like a conditioner to enjoy the scent.

Packaging The product arrived in a paper shipping envelope. I initially thought it was just paper on the outside with plastic padding inside, but to my surprise, even the padding was paper! The product box itself came without any plastic, which made me feel great. 2. Fragrance As someone who's not an expert on scents, I wasn't sure if this was an aloe scent, but it had a pleasant, inoffensive aroma. After unpacking, I left the contents on my desk, and a lovely scent filled the room all day. I also hung it in the bathroom, and the fragrance really lifts my mood. That said, it's not overpowering to the point of causing headaches. 3. Shape The shape has curves that fit nicely in your hand and around your head. It even comes with a built-in string for hanging. When I used other bar shampoos, I worried about them getting soggy on a soap dish, so being able to hang this one is a big plus. While the shape does contour well to the head, I'm not sure it's significantly different from a regular rectangular bar. You still need to lather it up a bit anyway. The grip feels good though. 4. Lather and Feel It doesn't lather as easily as some other products. With other brands, the lather was comparable to liquid shampoo, but this one needs a bit more rubbing. I think this might be due to its low pH and vegan formula, which is understandable. The after-rinse feel is somewhere between a regular shampoo's moderate softness and another brand's squeaky clean feeling - kind of in the middle?
ConsAfter rinsing, there was a slightly ambiguous feeling, almost as if a waxy residue remained. It wasn't completely washed out, but it wasn't quite there either. I'm not sure if they added something to eliminate the need for conditioner, but for me, it wasn't the most ideal finish. However, after using conditioner or a treatment, it felt similar to when I use other shampoos.

It lathers up much better than I expected, and the fragrance is fresh without being artificial. The best part was when rinsing it out...!!!! My hair feels incredibly soft! It left my hair feeling as smooth as if I'd used a treatment mask, but without any slippery residue - it was truly a delightful experience!
ConsThe formula seems a bit soft, probably to help it lather well and apply easily to the hair. This made me worry I might use it up too quickly...? Other than that, I really can't find any faults!

It's a simple way to help our planet. 2) Easy to use and maintain First off, it lathers up surprisingly well with just a bit of water, leaving my hair feeling fresh. Plus, it's convenient to dry and store after use. 3) Natural, subtle fragrance Compared to other products, the scent is not artificial or overpowering. Its natural aroma makes it pleasant and easy to use. 4) Ergonomically designed for the most comfortable hair washing experience The unique shape sets it apart from other products. After trying it, I found the grip to be incredibly user-friendly, making the whole process effortless.
ConsFor someone like me who doesn't use conditioner or treatment after shampooing, using this shampoo bar alone might leave your hair feeling a bit stiff. This is especially noticeable when your hair dries, so you might need to add a conditioner bar or similar product to your routine. However, the advantages outweigh this minor issue, so I'm definitely considering purchasing it again after using it!

It's not overpowering or harsh, but rather refreshingly pleasant, just enough to lift your mood. There's a subtle powdery fragrance that lingers after your shower, leaving you feeling great. Don't worry though, it doesn't stick around on your skin for too long after you're done. The best part for me was that my skin didn't feel itchy after showering. I've really struggled with itchiness from shower gels in the past. I'm not sure if it's because this soap is moisturizing or if it's formulated with non-irritating ingredients, but it's truly less itchy and feels wonderful.
ConsHowever, there's a slight downside. When I checked the ingredients on Hwahae, I noticed some components that aren't ideal. That was a bit disappointing. It made me wonder if this is a product I can use with complete confidence. Also, judging by the amount of lather and cleansing intensity, I don't think it's strong enough to use as a shampoo. The foam isn't very rich and dissipates quickly, so for shampooing... well, it's questionable. I'd recommend this to people with sensitive skin who enjoy fresh scents and are looking for a product that doesn't create additional waste.

It's firmer than regular soap, so it doesn't get soft or crumble easily. 2. The scent is unique - I can't quite place it, but it's not artificial and quite pleasant. 3. The attached string makes it easy to store and helps it dry well. 4. As someone with oily hair that usually gets greasy within 5 hours, I noticed my hair stayed much fresher on days I used this soap compared to regular shampoo.
Cons1. At first, I wasn't familiar with using soap to wash my hair, so I didn't know the best method.
TipInstead of rubbing the soap directly on your scalp, try working up a lather in your hands first. Then massage it into your scalp - you'll get much more foam this way!

Scent While it doesn't have an aloe-like fragrance, I love the subtle cucumber scent with powdery notes. If you prefer sweet or citrus scents, you might not be a fan, but those who enjoy woody fragrances will likely appreciate it. 2. Lather It produces a richer lather than regular soap, and the foam is creamier than typical shampoo! 3. Space-saving The shampoo bar is about the size of a soap bar, and it comes with a strap for hanging, so it takes up less space than bottled shampoo. 4. Aromatherapy effect Unlike liquid shampoo in a bottle, when you hang the shampoo bar in your bathroom, it releases a delightful fragrance that spreads further than regular soap, creating a pleasant atmosphere.
Cons1. Hair care This shampoo bar feels more like soap than shampoo. My hair isn't particularly oily, but when I use this shampoo bar, it tends to tangle and feel rough. 2. Drying time It takes longer for hair to dry! Those with long hair should be prepared to invest more time in their hair care routine. 3. Usage Unlike liquid shampoo where you can easily dispense a large amount, the shampoo bar only allows you to use a small amount at a time, which can be inconvenient.
TipYou can create more lather by placing the shampoo bar in a mesh bag when using it.

While it doesn't smell exactly like cucumbers, it has a fresh, clean soap scent. The fragrance might not be polarizing, but the shampoo bar itself has a strong scent. The lingering scent in your hair seems to be mild. Package: I appreciate the simple packaging that appears to be environmentally conscious. Texture: It has a typical soft soap texture. It lathers well with just a bit of water and rubbing. It glides smoothly on your hair without feeling stiff. Convenience: It feels just as convenient as traditional pump shampoos. The attached string allows you to easily hang it on a towel rack. Cost-effectiveness: They claim one shampoo bar can replace two 250ml bottles of liquid shampoo, which seems like good value. It also saves you the hassle of buying bulky shampoo bottles and disposing of the waste. Cleansing power: As someone with an oily scalp who prefers strong cleansing shampoos, I find the dense lather effectively cleanses both scalp and hair. Gentle formula: While I don't have particularly sensitive skin, I experienced no irritation. There's no intense cooling sensation like with menthol shampoos. With aloe as an ingredient, it seems suitable even for those with sensitive skin.
ConsStorage: While the shelf life is one year, it's not sealed packaging, so there might be a risk of contamination if stored for a long time. After-feel: Your hair feels squeaky clean right after rinsing, which might be a bit harsh for those with dry hair.
TipThanks to Hwahae, I've now tried both a shampoo bar and a conditioner bar. Using them together, my hair actually feels softer. The satisfaction of helping the environment is an added bonus. If you're environmentally conscious, it's definitely worth giving it a try.
