It's both moisturizing and matte! I love the wide range of color options. While the texture takes some getting used to at first, it applies beautifully with a brush or sponge. Initially, the unfamiliar texture makes it challenging to apply a thin layer. Using a brush helps it absorb well and creates a thin, even application that adheres nicely to the skin. - dr********Dehydrated SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessRednessRecommendedJun 15, 2025
As someone with combination dehydrated skin leaning towards oily, I've been slowly recovering from a major skin flare-up caused by using incompatible products last year. My skin is acne-prone and super sensitive, so now I prioritize checking for potential blemish-triggering ingredients over coverage, longevity, or shade. In the midst of this, a friend recommended this cushion, which I tested at Olive Young before purchasing. Long story short, I'm in love - it's my holy grail cushion! It perfectly combines the best aspects of both foundation and cushion. While foundation can be a hassle and cushions often feel too light, this strikes the ideal balance. Though I typically don't wear makeup for extended periods (usually 5-6 hours), I noticed the longevity was impressive with no oxidation. The shade is gorgeous, and the coverage is medium to high. The photo was taken 3-4 hours after application. I applied this product alone, without any primer, base, or sunscreen underneath. There are literally no downsides. I'm wracking my brain, but I can't think of a single negative thing to say! Initially, apply it like a typical cushion by spreading it evenly. Then, for a sheer finish, gently pat it all over. If you want more coverage, don't spread it again - just pat another layer on top. That's all there is to it! - bo****Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJun 10, 2025
I bought this for my dry skin in preparation for the warmer weather! Love the wide range of shades available! It does a great job neutralizing redness As time passes, it settles into a more natural-looking complexion The scent isn't overpowering, but it's not my favorite. The product tends to smudge on the case, which is a bit frustrating - eo*****RecommendedJun 2, 2025
My skin: Extremely dry, slight acne scars, light cool tone I use shade 17. It's lightweight and the cool tone is a great color match. I haven't noticed any darkening yet (some reviews mention it turns grayish, but as I have a winter cool tone, I don't really notice it and my skin consistently looks bright). It makes my complexion look radiant, and over time my skin has a velvety finish with a nice glow. It's easy to touch up. The puff has a faux leather feel where you hold it, which keeps foundation from sticking and looks hygienic. I absolutely love it! The velvety texture can feel slightly drying for those with dry skin (not an issue if you prep your skin well). The formula is a bit thick. Occasionally, dust can stick to the foundation balm (a minor inconvenience that's worth putting up with given how good it is overall). - an*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsDead Skin CellsMay 30, 2025
Skin type: Heavy makeup user, deep pores with uneven texture, pigmentation around the mouth, extremely dry, prefers radiant cushions, not great at applying makeup It's so easy to apply! Just swipe and pat, swipe and pat. This made it super convenient to use even in the morning rush. Well... Despite putting a lot of effort into my skincare routine, it truly lived up to its "velvet" name... The coverage is medium-high (doesn't cover redness well). Even though it's a balm type, it felt incredibly powdery and didn't absorb as smoothly as I'd hoped. It's way too drying for my skin. It tends to apply patchily around the mouth area, feeling heavy even when I carefully controlled the amount. The photo was taken two hours after application, and you can see how cakey it looks and how it's settled into my pores... Above all, it really irritated my skin, making my redness so much worse. I'm afraid there's nothing else to add. - je******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedMay 26, 2025
Skin type: Oily / Redness / Large pores / Acne-prone - Coverage Being a balm type, it seems to offer better coverage compared to other cushions. For acne scars, applying once and then layering over it again provides decent coverage. - Tone It appears slightly lighter than shade 21, but it's a beautiful brightness that's not overwhelming. It's particularly flattering for those with redness-prone skin like mine, as it seems to enhance the complexion beautifully. - Pore coverage Using the built-in puff or spatula brush covers pores well (Note: For very large pores, foundation can settle in between, which isn't attractive. Cover large pore areas with a different foundation). - Application It may feel a bit dry to apply if you've used minimal skincare. As it's a balm type and tends to be on the drier side, make sure to prep your skin thoroughly with skincare products. - Longevity I found the staying power to be lacking. It looks fine for about 3-4 hours, but after that, it breaks down unattractively. Touch-ups are challenging due to its dry balm texture. Ensure you use hydrating and nourishing skincare products underneath. When applying with the puff, use a pressing motion. While it applies well and has good longevity initially, both application and staying power decrease after about a month. This might be due to moisture loss from repeatedly opening and closing the cushion. Always make sure to close the case tightly after use. - he*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedMay 26, 2025
I usually have trouble with cushions and powder foundations not sitting well on my skin, so I've been just using sunscreen as my final step. But recently, I started using this powder foundation again and I'm really happy with it! It provides good basic coverage! (It covers minor blemishes, but for larger spots, you'll still need a concealer!) If you apply it thinly and evenly, it even helps conceal pores. (Though I noticed if I didn't apply it correctly, sometimes the pores were still visible.) The tone is slightly darker with an ivory hue, which I like. I'm not a fan of my face looking too bright compared to the rest of my body, so I'm pleased with this shade! It doesn't break down easily. I was able to go about 6 hours without touch-ups, and even when my skin got a bit oily, the foundation maintained its adherence to my skin, which I found really satisfying! There's nothing particularly negative to mention. It's been a while since I've purchased an Age 20's product, but I'm quite satisfied with this one! - sy*****Dehydrated SkinSebum/BlackheadsRecommendedMay 25, 2025
Perfectly balanced between dewy and matte - The semi-matte formula is great for year-round use (especially for oily skin types) Shade concerns - The #21 shade seems to run a bit dark, slightly darkening the complexion when applied - yu*****Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessRecommendedMay 22, 2025
It adheres incredibly well to the skin. There's absolutely no emphasis on pores, and the coverage is fantastic. There's nothing to be disappointed about. It's the best foundation out there. I wonder why it's not more famous? This foundation seems to be a hidden gem in the cosmetics world. It offers excellent adherence, seamless coverage without accentuating pores, and overall impressive performance. The reviewer is genuinely puzzled by its lack of widespread recognition, suggesting it deserves more attention in the beauty community. - by********Dry SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedMay 1, 2025
- Case: The leather gives it a luxurious feel. - Color: Great brightness for those lighter than shade 21. Shade 21 would be perfect for a radiant look. - Texture: Can range from dewy to semi-matte depending on your skincare base. This formula requires some skill - absolutely avoid patting it on heavily. Instead, spread it thinly. Patting will make it thick, pill, and separate. Apply a small amount, spread it thinly, then gently pat for a beautiful finish. It gives a slight glow, making your skin look great. Doesn't emphasize texture or pores, and provides good coverage. A thin layer prevents a heavy feeling on the skin. Easy to touch up if it transfers. Almost no darkening, and it lasted well even after being out all day. I didn't find it drying, but if you do, make sure to prep your skin well with hydrating products. Being in stick form, it tends to collect dust and seems to wear down quickly due to its texture.
