It's perfect for combination to oily skin types! I applied it every morning after toner, and despite its lightweight appearance, it provided excellent hydration for combination dehydrated skin! Highly recommended for combination/oily and combination dehydrated skin types! It's also gentle enough for sensitive skin! While the regular price is $29 for 50ml, you can snag it for around $10 during sales, which is great!
ConsI expected the ampoule essence to have a thick, concentrated texture like typical ampoules, not a watery consistency. So it was a bit disappointing for addressing deep dryness! It seems better suited for lightweight application!
TipAfter cleansing with toner, applying two layers of this essence worked wonderfully! Occasionally, I'd soak cotton pads with it and place them on areas with redness - it calmed my skin instantly, which was fantastic!

It absorbs quickly as you spread it, leaving a slightly tacky finish. However, this tackiness doesn't linger and soon disappears, making it pleasant for light application. - It's fragrance-free and feels incredibly gentle with no irritation whatsoever. - While I found the hydration a bit lacking in the current dry weather, I think it'll be perfect and comfortable to use when it gets warmer.
ConsPerhaps due to its lightweight nature, it didn't improve my deep dryness, nor did I feel any soothing effect. While it doesn't cause irritation or blemishes, I couldn't notice any significant benefits from this product.

It's fragrance-free with a clean, non-sticky feel that absorbs quickly. I'd recommend layering it generously right after your toner for best results. *Current skin condition: My typically dry skin suddenly developed acne, so I switched to a lighter skincare routine. However, this left my skin dehydrated and my skin barrier compromised. In short: dry, sensitive, blemish-prone, and in need of hydration.
ConsI hoped layering this watery formula would address my deep dryness, but unfortunately it didn't. Even after applying 2-3 layers, my skin still felt parched underneath. This texture seems better suited for oily skin types during summer. While I've repurchased products from the Soon Jung line multiple times before (the emulsion was great for soothing), I can't say there's anything particularly outstanding about this one.

This product is just as gentle, which I absolutely love. I was testing this when my skin was in a bad state and I couldn't use just anything, but this product didn't cause much irritation and actually helped prevent my skin from getting worse. It's more hydrating than oily, making it perfect for the upcoming summer. I think those with oily skin could use it year-round, while those with dry skin like me might find it a bit lacking in moisture outside of summer.
ConsWhile it's truly a gentle product, I don't think it lives up to its name in terms of soothing effects. It seems to focus more on hydration than calming the skin. As someone with dry skin, I noticed some deep dryness as time went on. It might be fine for summer, but I think those with dry skin might struggle to use it in other seasons. Another downside was that the texture felt slightly sticky and took a while to absorb, which was a bit disappointing.
TipSince the ampoule is so gentle, you might want to supplement it with a cream that addresses any lacking areas based on your skin type. As someone with dry skin, I found that using this ampoule followed by a thin double layer of the Moisture Barrier Cream from the same line helped prevent deep dryness - it's a combination that worked well for me. If your skin is in a sensitive state and you need a really gentle skincare routine, I'd recommend the Etude Soon Jung line!

It seems perfect for those with very oily skin, especially during the summer months!
ConsAfter the first application, it felt like the moisturizing effect was weak. When I applied it a second time, there was some shine, but it still didn't address the deep dryness and felt heavy on my skin.
