The positives? It absorbs quickly and has great application. Plus, the packaging looks quite luxurious.
ConsI had to stop using it because my skin became itchy after application. While there weren't any noticeable side effects, my skin was already acting up, and I felt that continuing to use this product might make things worse. Those with sensitive skin should be cautious. Also, the fragrance is quite strong, and the price is incredibly steep.

I've tried various retinol products, but due to my super sensitive skin, I haven't found one that I can stick with yet. I applied to be part of The Hwahae Testers because this product contains retinol but is described as mild and gentle enough for regular use. <What I liked> - The 3-step oxygen-blocking packaging keeps the product fresh without deterioration - The texture isn't greasy, but smooth and hydrating - It can be applied not just around the eyes, but all over the face Another advantage is that it's a retinol product from Amore Pacific, so they've done extensive research to improve the stability of the retinol.
ConsFollowing the instructions, I applied a small amount only at night and diligently applied sunscreen during the day. However, starting from the second night, the area around my eyes where I applied the product began to itch. So I stopped using it from that day. Even after stopping, the itching continued for 3-4 more days. I only applied a small amount for just two days to help my skin adapt, but it still caused itching. I'm sad because pores and wrinkles are my two main skin concerns, but somehow retinol just doesn't seem to work for me. Still, I'm planning to try again, maybe once a week, after some time has passed...
TipWhen it was itchy, applying a rich avocado eye cream helped soothe it. I don't think it's a good idea to keep applying the product while enduring the itching. It might irritate the skin more and potentially cause more wrinkles.

ConsWhen I applied it to my forehead, it was slightly itchy, but when I put it around my eyes, it was so irritating that I had to wash it off immediately. I was too scared to even try it on my cheeks. Also, I was shocked to see the regular price is 70,000 won.

The texture isn't too thick, it spreads smoothly, and leaves my skin feeling moisturized. Although I've only used it for a week, so I can't claim any dramatic effects, I've noticed more improvement in my pores compared to other retinols, and my skin feels firmer. I love that it doesn't cause dryness, and I appreciate the thoughtful packaging with clear instructions. After carefully reading about potential side effects, I'm happy to report that this Laneige retinol didn't cause any for me. If you follow the instructions, I highly recommend this as an excellent first retinol product! I'll continue using it and update my review later.
ConsWhile I didn't experience any blemishes on my face, I did notice some itching and small bumps when I applied it to my neck. I think I might have been a bit too generous with the application. Remember, everyone should start with small amounts and let your skin adapt gradually!
TipIt's recommended to apply this product as the final step after your moisturizer, preferably in the evening. During the day, sunscreen is an absolute must! Start with a small amount - don't get overzealous from the beginning!

Recommended for nighttime use as sunscreen effectiveness decreases over time. 2) Advantages: - Skin feels slightly firmer after overnight use - Makeup applies well the next day - Reduces appearance of dehydration-induced wrinkles by the following day 3) Drawbacks: - The scent is quite strong and can be overwhelming at times - Effects are somewhat disappointing compared to other potent retinol products - Fine when applied after basic skincare (toner, serum, moisturizer), but caused stinging and discomfort when used as a nourishing cream replacement or mixed with moisturizer - Not particularly cost-effective considering its performance, quantity, and price 4) Personal Opinion: I generally tolerate retinol well and have had success with increasing concentrations in other products. Examples: Carrot oil (purchased abroad), COSRX retinol cream/oil, Innisfree retinol serum I typically respond well to and prefer retinol products. However, this product caused significant stinging, unlike other retinol products I've used without issue. Even retinol oil applied directly to bare skin after toner and serum was fine, but this product didn't agree with me. The effects seemed weaker than expected. I wondered if the quick absorption meant less nourishment. My skin tends to break out when I layer too many products. Using this over my basic skincare routine gave good results but caused small pimples. When used as a cream replacement, the amount applied increased, intensifying the scent. The fragrance made me dizzy and nauseous, and my skin became itchy and irritated quickly. Even when applied to the neck, it stung slightly and the scent remained strong. I tried using it during a period of lowered immunity, thinking that might be the cause, but my usual retinol oil was fine. This product just doesn't work for me. However, the next day after use, my skin did feel firmer and makeup applied well. Not recommended for those with sensitive or oily skin. ===== Personal Information ===== < Skin Type > - Combination dehydrated, sensitive - Skin isn't very thin, but on the thinner side - Prone to blackheads/whiteheads and blemishes - Pores widening with age, developing deep and fine wrinkles < Basic Skincare Routine > 1. As we all know, retinol is widely acknowledged by dermatologists as an incredibly potent ingredient that's highly effective for skin. I should have done my research on retinol beforehand, but I eagerly applied to be a Hwahae Tester after seeing buzzwords like 'pore reduction'. I failed to follow the crucial precautions when using retinol! Instead of applying it sparingly, I slathered it on generously like a moisturizer, which resulted in my skin turning red and peeling off. Please don't make the same mistake! It's such a potent ingredient... I should have used just a tiny amount. Because of this, it's difficult for me to evaluate the product's benefits, and I feel terribly sorry towards the company that sent it. This isn't the product's fault, but my carelessness... I was shocked when my skin reacted badly, so I looked it up on YouTube and found warnings against using too much. If only I had done a quick search beforehand! How foolish of me...
ConsI should have squeezed out just a small amount and applied it to problem areas. Instead, not knowing any better, I slathered it on thickly like a face mask. Within two days, my skin completely flipped out. It turned red, started peeling, became bumpy, itchy, and painful. However, this isn't the product's fault, but mine for not following the proper usage instructions! After my skin reacted, I regrettably couldn't continue using the cream. I've been trying to calm my skin with masks and moisturizers, and it's gradually improving. Retinol can be very effective, but it's also highly potent, so using just a small amount should yield good results. I'm leaving this review in hopes that no one else makes the same mistake I did. I'm sorry I couldn't be more helpful as a Hwahae Tester.
TipAlways use a tiny amount! Apply less than a pea-sized drop to your problem areas. Please, I beg you!

First off, the packaging was really well done - quite luxurious, I must say! The instructions were detailed, and the opening method was clearly explained, so it wasn't difficult at all. The tube format seems great for hygiene. When you consider that you only need to use a rice-grain sized amount, the quantity seems quite generous. The scent is a subtle blend - perhaps a delicate floral or a typical cosmetic fragrance? Oh, and I couldn't bring myself to throw away the case since it has the usage instructions on it. I haven't been able to use it for long enough to notice any significant differences yet... but I'm planning to give it at least a three-week trial!
ConsAs mentioned in the instructions, due to the nature of retinol, there can be some tingling and redness. But since that's typical for retinol products, it's hard to call it a real drawback. I also experienced a bit of itching. To be honest, after reading the precautions for using retinol, I was a bit nervous, especially since I have super sensitive skin. At this point, no particularly strong pros or cons have emerged yet.
TipIt's crucial to carefully follow the different usage instructions for weeks 1, 2, and 3!
