The texture is firm and doesn't run. It provides suitable hydration for dry skin. Those with oily skin might find it okay if applied sparingly in a thin layer. >Absorbs well You might think that because it's a nourishing cream, it would absorb slowly or sit on top of the skin, but that's not the case. It doesn't dry down completely or evaporate, but absorbs adequately while moisturizing. >Gentle retinol Sometimes retinol can cause dead skin cells to flake and blemishes to appear, but this product caused no issues for the writer. Given the current popularity of retinol, this could be a good option for beginners.
Cons>Scent It has an artificial cosmetic fragrance. The smell dissipates quickly, but it's not recommended for those with sensitive noses. >As this review was written as part of The Hwahae Testers program, the short usage period made it difficult to fully experience the retinol effects. Consistent use would be necessary to see results. >Price
Tip>Be sure to read the product instructions and use it correctly!

Effectiveness Applying it before bed results in a radiant glow the next morning, and with consistent use, I've noticed a reduction in fine lines under my eyes. I was previously using The O*dinary's 1% Retinol, but it was greasy and heavy, often causing blemishes. Plus, I didn't see much improvement in fine lines, so I was on the hunt for a different retinol. After about two weeks of using this product, I'm pleased to report it's not greasy, my fine lines have diminished, my pores appear smaller, and most importantly, my acne scars are healing faster. I'm very satisfied. 2. Gentle on skin Compared to my previous product, this one is significantly less irritating. Laneige's retinol has changed my perception that a product needs to be irritating to be effective. With its gentle formula and great results, I think I'll be sticking with this product. 3. Packaging Retinol is known to lose its effectiveness when exposed to oxygen and light. Laneige's retinol comes in a patented container that blocks out oxygen and light, so I feel confident using it.
Cons1. Fragrance As someone with sensitive skin who even struggles with perfumes, I wish the scent was a bit milder. However, the fragrance is only noticeable during application and dissipates quickly, so it won't deter me from using the product. 2. Price The cost is a bit steep for a college student's budget, but given its effectiveness, I plan to stock up during sales events.
TipWhile the product details advise against using it with other potentially irritating products, I've found my skin to be quite resilient. In my quest to maximize results, I've developed the following routine. Please note this is just my personal experience: 3 times a week: 1. Start with V* Lift Shot 100 2. Apply T* Hyaluronic Acid Ampoule and The O*dinary Matrixyl 3. Mix Laneige Retinol with A*tra 365 Cream and apply all over face 4. Finish by applying extra Laneige Retinol to eye area, nose, nasolabial folds, neck lines, and acne scars

As soon as I opened the box, I understood why this product's retail price is over $70. It's designed to minimize air contact to maintain the stability of the retinol ingredient, with a narrow, elongated opening inside the lid. The product dispenses in small amounts like an eye cream, making it easy to control the quantity. 2. There's no irritation. It's my first time using a retinol product, and I've never experienced redness or blemishes when applying it after cleansing in the evening. The cream texture is slightly more firm than usual, but not at all thick. Think of it as a moisturizing cream rather than a hydrating one. It spreads smoothly with just a small amount. 3. My skin texture feels slightly softer. While the improvement isn't dramatically noticeable, it feels more velvety compared to after using other hydrating creams.
Cons1. The scent isn't great. Although I believe that the effectiveness of a skincare product is more important than its fragrance, it has that typical scent of high-end cosmetics targeted at middle-aged consumers. However, the scent doesn't linger on the skin for long, so it's just a minor inconvenience during application and doesn't affect my desire to purchase it. 2. The price is a bit steep for someone in their 20s to buy without hesitation. I understand that retinol products are inherently difficult to formulate well due to ingredient stability and efficacy issues! Having hesitated over other brand ampoules from the same company priced over $30-40, it would be challenging for me to purchase a cream that costs over $70.
TipThis product focuses on functionality rather than providing intense hydration. That's why I found it worked even better when I applied it after using a basic hydrating ampoule.

Perhaps that's why it absorbs well. It sinks into the skin smoothly without any slipperiness. At first, there's a very slight tingling sensation, but it gradually subsides. After using it, my skin feels silky smooth. For more significant improvements in wrinkles or complexion, I think I'd need to use it for a longer period.
ConsThe scent is close to that of a typical cosmetic product. It's not long-lasting and is only noticeable during application.
