When I use other brands, some products cause severe eye irritation, but this product hardly irritates my eyes at all! You know how road cycling can lead to accidents in a split second, right? With other products, I often have to take my hands off the handlebars to wipe away tears, but this one is really fantastic! I even apply it around my eyes~ It helps with dark spots around the eyes T-T. There's a slight white cast, which is a clear sign of effective sun protection! When I tested it on the back of my hand, the white cast faded a bit after about 5 minutes. The case design is rose pink~! The scent isn't unscented, but has a slight powdery fragrance that's quite nice. Many people talk about the puff, but I think it's pretty good too. The finish doesn't feel artificial or overly matte, which can be concerning for clogging pores, but this product doesn't have that issue. I used to use products with a matte finish, but apparently those can clog pores.
ConsThere's a slight shininess and pilling, but that's probably because it's a sunscreen product.

I absolutely despise sunscreen but use it reluctantly. I dislike the sticky, slippery feeling left on my face and hands, but this one feels powder-soft on my hands when applied with a puff! On the face, it initially feels moisturizing and later settles into a pleasantly firm finish. It applies moistly from the start, making it suitable for dry skin types. A bit of oil comes through later, so it should work well for anyone who isn't extremely dry. I went without makeup for a while, using only this cushion. With its brightening effect, it's good enough to wear on its own for a clean look, as long as your skin isn't too troubled. Personally, I love the packaging - it's flat and small, perfect for mini bags. I'm also fond of the pink color... and the large mirror is great! And now for the crucial part - the ingredients! Usually, any sunscreen gives me blemishes, but this one was fine! I'm not sure why it worked so well, as I've only used it for just over a week, but sensitive skin types might find it worth trying.
ConsDrawbacks: The fragrance... It smells somewhat like old-fashioned mom's cosmetics... As someone who dislikes artificial scents, I found the headache-inducing fragrance difficult to deal with every application. Makeup doesn't apply well over this sun cushion... It pills terribly when you pat another cushion on top! I'm not sure if it's just incompatible with my current cushion (Ne*ming), but it pilled so badly that I ended up using it alone. The sun cushion doesn't seem to naturally even skin tone as it's just plain white... It might look really unnatural on some skin tones. Personally, it didn't look too off on me, but I think it might be quite noticeable on darker skin tones. + The protective film on the mirror is really difficult to remove. It would be great if they could add something to make peeling it off easier.
TipYou absolutely should not pat this cushion on. Apply it with a spreading motion. If you pat it, it just applies unevenly, so make sure to spread it when applying.

No eye irritation As someone who always tries to apply sunscreen, I've tried various products. Usually, after 1-3 hours of wear, my eyes would start stinging. But with this one, there's absolutely no eye irritation! I can make it through the workday without using artificial tears. That's a win! 2. No blemishes Even with products claiming to be gentle or mild, I'd usually end up with small bumps by the end of the workday after applying sunscreen. But with this one, I'm using it without any blemishes appearing. As expected from a vegan product, it's less irritating and has good ingredients, making it gentle on the skin! 3. Great portability It can be a hassle to carry sunscreen around all the time, but this compact form makes it easy to take with you. The case is also adorably pink! 4. The puff Honestly, the puff is both a pro and a con... The puff itself is nice and firm, but it's not ideal for spreading this product. However, I've put it in the pros because its firmness makes it great for patting the product in! 5. Natural brightening It's great that it brightens my complexion when I'm just wearing sunscreen to work. But remember, moderation is key - you don't want your face to look disconnected from your body!
Cons1. Pilling If you don't pat it in with the puff, it absorbs slowly. (The puff doesn't work well with this product, making it difficult to apply) If you try to spread it, it pills and peels off! So while it's fine when you're just wearing sunscreen, it's not suitable for applying makeup over it. 2. Color It would be nice if it came in a pink tone too! For people with slightly darker skin, even a light application might create a noticeable difference between face and neck.

What I consider most crucial in sunscreen, and what I'm most satisfied with in this product, is that there's no eye irritation! As someone sensitive to eye stinging and a contact lens wearer, products that irritate my eyes are really tough to deal with. The second best thing is that a tiny amount goes a long way, so it'll probably last longer than other products with similar expiration dates! Love the brightening effect... it's perfect on bare skin (just be careful with the amount you use ^.^) It's moisturizing without being sticky. However, due to its rich texture, it might be challenging for those with oily skin... (though it's not excessively oily)
ConsAs time passed, I felt deep dryness, and without using additional products like face mists, it led to skin tightness. Rather than clumping, it's more accurate to say it pills. It seems to vary depending on the cushion, but even when applying it all over my face, it happened a few times. I thought the cushion would be convenient and quick to use when in a hurry, but having to pay extra attention to this issue made it a bit cumbersome.
TipTo minimize pilling, avoid patting repeatedly in one spot. Instead, use a small amount and gently pat once or twice.

No eye irritation I loved that this product didn't cause any eye irritation. I was worried it might be harsh, but it wasn't at all. 2. Brightens even on bare skin It works best when applied before makeup due to its brightening effect, but it's not bad on its own either - I'd recommend it for that. I especially liked how it left my skin feeling smooth after application. 3. Satisfyingly subtle fragrance While those extremely sensitive to scents might have mixed feelings about any fragrance, I found it to be mild and pleasant, not overpowering at all.
Cons1. Pilling issues Whether it's due to the puff applicator or my skin type, I'm not sure, but there's definitely some pilling. It tends to clump up... Changing the puff applicator might help improve this. 2. Disappointing coverage As someone with blemishes, it didn't fully conceal everything except for the lighter spots.
TipIf you're experiencing clumping due to using too much product, try gently spreading it towards the areas where it hasn't been applied. This can help improve the situation somewhat.

It felt moisturizing and adhered well to my skin.
ConsHowever, it caused some blemishes for me, and the white cast was too severe, making it difficult to achieve a natural finish. Unfortunately, the puff also caused significant pilling, so I had to switch to a different cushion applicator.
TipWhen I used a different puff, it adhered better and applied more naturally.

The color shifts with the light, making you want to keep looking at it. It's the size of a standard cushion, fitting comfortably in one hand. The puff is just right, about three fingers wide, making it easy to use. There's plenty of product inside. I was surprised by how much came out with just a gentle press - that's a plus! It's incredibly hydrating, much more so than regular sunscreens. It feels more like it's packed with moisture rather than being greasy, and it gives a subtle hydrated glow when applied. It's like a 2:1 mix of serum and cream. Unlike some other sun cushions where the cream comes up through holes in the inner lid, this one has the formula in a sponge like a regular cushion. This makes it easier to apply and less messy. There's no BB cream-like ingredient, so you don't have to worry about it staining your clothes. The ingredients are great too - I've been using it for two weeks with no blemishes, irritation, or itching. As for the scent, it's closer to a sunscreen smell than a cosmetic one, which makes it less off-putting. It's not strong enough to be bothersome, which I appreciate.
ConsYou can't apply cushion foundation over this - it pills terribly and makes your makeup look patchy. While the product itself is more hydrating than oily, I found that after a while, my skin became quite oily. This might vary from person to person, but it doesn't seem to suit my skin type. Other than that, the only downside is that it's a bit tricky to control how much product comes out.
TipPro tip: Instead of patting it in with the puff, try spreading it with a gentle sweeping motion - it applies much more smoothly this way! Apply dots on your forehead, cheeks, and chin, then gently sweep to spread. I deliberately applied more to show the color and glow, but if you only pat it, it's hard to spread evenly as shown in the third photo. Sweep it to achieve the look in the fourth photo. The fifth photo is before application, and the sixth is after. I highly recommend this for those looking for a hydrating product and anyone planning to use a sun cushion as their sole base product!

It's not much different from tube-type sunscreens you squeeze out, but being in cushion form makes it convenient to apply without getting your hands messy. I liked that it was easy to control the amount, and it doesn't have that strong typical sunscreen scent. The finish is refreshing and pleasant!
ConsI've been using a sun cushion with a bit of foundation mixed in, so when I used the El Sol sun cushion alone, which is just sunscreen, I felt the coverage was a bit lacking. There's a slight white cast, and almost no coverage. I'm not sure if it's an issue with the puff, but it applies with significant pilling. While it felt refreshing right after application, as time passed, my skin felt slightly suffocated. After cleansing, my skin became very dry, and red marks appeared. I understand that skin irritation can vary for everyone, but it was a bit disappointing.
TipDon't pat it on with the puff, instead, apply it using a rubbing motion.

Here are the three main benefits she raved about (she has self-described dry skin and is in her 40s): The product is fragrance-free, which she appreciated. 1. In terms of texture, she loved how moisturizing it was. It kept her dry skin hydrated without feeling parched, which was a huge plus for her. 2. When it comes to application, she was impressed that it eliminated the need for a separate makeup base. She used to struggle with her makeup fading by evening, leaving her looking bare-faced. However, with this product, she noticed improved makeup longevity. Whether it's due to the hydrating formula or a change in product, she was delighted that her complexion remained radiant even into the evening. 3. Regarding sensitivity, she was pleased to find that it didn't cause any eye irritation. After experiencing stinging with other products, she had avoided applying sunscreen around her eyes, resulting in dark spots. She was thrilled to be able to apply this product thoroughly around her eyes without any discomfort, and specifically asked me to highlight this point.
Cons1. Despite its moisturizing formula, my mother noticed some pilling when applying the product with the included puff. She's not sure if it's due to the incompatibility between the puff and the formula, but she observed white clumps forming on her face during application. Even after continued patting, the clumping persisted, and she worried it might be visible in photos. (The 6th photo shows the application result) 2. Overall, she found the puff to be on the firmer side, which was a bit disappointing for her. She mentioned needing to use a different puff for application in the future. This issue led her to deduct one star from her rating.
TipTo address the pilling issue mentioned in the first point of the drawbacks, my mother discovered a helpful tip: If you notice continued clumping and difficulty in product application, try using a clean part of the puff and keep gently patting. This technique seemed to resolve the issue to some extent.

It came with a paper pamphlet that really showcased the brand's pride in their ingredients and product. I loved how well it explained everything. When I applied it, I noticed a slight cooling effect, which was my favorite part! It also has brightening properties, so I could just apply this sun cushion over my skincare for work. The staying power was impressive, even through workouts and long days. The longevity is seriously amazing! I think this is definitely a product I'd recommend to others.
ConsI didn't experience any particular blemishes from using it. However, when applying the sun cushion over a heavy emulsion, there was some pilling that looked like white powder. This is something to keep in mind.
TipIt might feel less hydrating, so make sure to let your moisturizer absorb fully before applying for the best results!
