The emulsion-like texture absorbs well and feels so light, it's as if you're not wearing anything. There's absolutely no white cast or stickiness. It feels incredibly lightweight on the skin, yet it's not drying and offers high sun protection, which is fantastic.
ConsThere's nothing to complain about. However, it doesn't provide any brightening or complexion-evening effects.

Firstly, there's no white cast, which helps create a moisturized base for makeup, allowing it to adhere better. It's not overly sticky either, which is great. The essence-like texture means it'll be suitable even in the depths of winter. Secondly, it's easy to apply. The sun essence formula spreads smoothly and evenly, making it very convenient for use on the neck and body too. It's also fragrance-free, which I'd recommend for those with sensitive skin!
ConsThere are no downsides! I'll definitely repurchase! It's fantastic - I've been searching for a sunscreen without a white cast, and this one is perfect.

It's almost non-sticky with a texture similar to a hydrating moisturizer, so it doesn't feel heavy when applied. It absorbs quickly like an essence, without any white cast, and feels light and refreshing on the skin. It doesn't seem overly rich, leaving a soft, matte finish. I love that it doesn't feel suffocating, making it perfect for those who dislike the typical sunscreen feel. Even after 12 hours, there was no excess shine. Its essence-like texture seems to work well for combination dehydrated skin without causing any patchiness. I think even men could comfortably use this without feeling burdened.
ConsIt feels slightly sticky right after application, but becomes matte once absorbed. It doesn't have any brightening or tone-up effects.
TipApply it as if you're adding an extra layer over your moisturizer, allowing it to absorb well.

As someone who absolutely despises sunscreens due to pilling, eye irritation, burning sensations, and stickiness, I focused on these aspects while testing the Melaphil sunscreen. First, I was really satisfied with how fresh it feels without being sticky. It doesn't have that gritty powder finish, but rather feels like a hydrating moisturizer melting into your skin. The application is smooth and not patchy at all, which I love. Next, I'm thrilled that there's no eye irritation or burning sensation on the skin. The ingredients don't seem to include anything that would irritate the skin or clog pores, so my skin feels comfortable. For these reasons, plus the fact that it leaves no white cast, I've been using it as a great base before makeup. It's not one of those sunscreens that creates a barrier between your skin and foundation. Instead, it absorbs well into the skin, which is a huge plus as it prevents my makeup from pilling.
ConsI'm using this product with complete satisfaction and can't find any downsides. However, I'm currently taking isotretinoin for milia treatment, so I couldn't determine if it causes any blemishes.
TipAfter applying skincare and sunscreen, I give it a bit of time to absorb before applying foundation. I feel like my foundation adheres better this way, so I've been doing my makeup about 5 minutes after applying the sunscreen!

I've finally found my holy grail sunscreen. It feels moisturizing when applied, and absorbs quickly. Incredibly hydrating with excellent absorption. I had to deliberately rub it in vigorously to make the application visible in the photo comparison - otherwise, you can't even tell it's on. That's how non-sticky it is. I even tried blowing on a tissue - it just flew away! Zero stickiness, mild scent, and absolutely no white cast. While sunsticks are convenient, they inevitably leave a shiny finish. This product is so satisfying that I'm willing to forgo the ease of sunsticks. It's perfect even for blemish-prone skin. No pilling or caking when reapplied over makeup. It might seem to pill at first, but that's just the moisturizing effect. If you pat some powder over it, it applies even more smoothly. This is truly my holy grail!
ConsThe only downside is that there are no downsides... if that makes sense!

The texture is incredibly hydrating, and I absolutely love that it's fragrance-free. I can't stand the typical sunscreen scent, so this was a pleasant surprise! Despite being moisturizing, it's not sticky and absorbs well, leaving my skin feeling incredibly soft. I'm really satisfied with the finish!
ConsThere are a few ingredients of concern that might worry some people. In my case, I haven't experienced any blemishes yet, but it's something to keep in mind!
TipIf you don't want to use a hydrating sunscreen on its own, you can mix it with another sunscreen that you found too thick or difficult to apply. This combination works great!

I usually dislike sticky sunscreens and the typical thick texture, often skipping sunscreen for quick outings. But this one feels barely sticky at all and spreads as easily as an emulsion. I think I'll use it all summer long! The texture is moisturizing and can be applied in a thin layer. It's fragrance-free. As for repurchasing, I had high hopes for this product because it claimed not to sting the eyes. While it's not completely sting-free, it's much better than most. I'm very satisfied! Above all, it's great to apply before makeup, so I'll likely repurchase when it's on sale.
ConsThere weren't any particular downsides, but as a Vitamin B sunscreen, it didn't feel significantly different from other sunscreens. It's just a solid, basic sunscreen!
TipI have sensitive skin but love trying new products, so avoiding blemishes is my top priority. After using this daily for over a week, I didn't experience any breakouts! Recommendation: If you're looking for a no-frills sunscreen that doesn't brighten or even out your complexion, this product is worth considering!

As someone with combination dehydrated skin that tends to be dry, I usually struggle with sunscreens that aren't hydrating enough. But this one, being a sun serum, is definitely moisturizing. Sometimes hydrating sunscreens can be too greasy, but this one applies smoothly like an emulsion and finishes with a fresh feel. It's not a powdery finish, but when applied as the last step of skincare, it doesn't feel sticky at all and leaves my skin feeling firm and supple. The application is so smooth and there's no white cast, making it perfect for busy mornings - you can quickly squeeze it out in the car and apply it without even needing a mirror. I didn't experience any eye irritation, and the scent wasn't bothersome either. If you're like me, someone who doesn't wear much makeup and is looking for a hydrating sunscreen, you'll be satisfied with this! I'm definitely considering repurchasing!
ConsThe opening of the tube is a bit rough - I'm not sure if it's just my container, but when I try to squeeze it directly onto my face, it catches and hurts a bit. Also, since it's an emulsion-like texture, if you apply too much, it might not absorb completely into the skin.

Absorbs without stickiness, feels fresh. Light yogurt-like texture. I use this as the final step after other skincare products, but it's so easy to apply that I have to remember if I've put it on. That's how well it absorbs. - Maintains hydration all day, excellent moisturizing effect (panthenol is key) - It's organic sunscreen with no white cast. - Makeup applies smoothly over it without any pilling. - Fragrance-free and doesn't irritate the eyes at all. - No blemishes appeared while using this product, and I love that it keeps my skin from getting oily throughout the day.
ConsI'm so satisfied with this product that I can't even find anything to criticize.

With SPF50+/PA++++, I can use it with peace of mind on my Maldives vacation. It feels light and non-sticky on my dehydrated skin, which I absolutely love. When I apply it in the morning, my skin feels moisturized all day long. Thanks to the vitamin ingredients, my complexion seems to have brightened up noticeably. Best of all, it works wonderfully as a makeup base. Its emulsion-like texture helps foundation adhere well, keeping my makeup intact even in the afternoon.
ConsThe 50ml size is a bit disappointing for frequent users like me, as it might run out quickly.
TipHere's my pro tip: I'm currently in a hot country, and I've found it super effective to apply this sunscreen like a basic moisturizer, let it absorb while I dry my hair, then reapply before makeup. In hot climates where you wash frequently and the sun can be drying, I find emulsion-type sunscreens like this more appealing than mineral ones. The compact size makes it perfect for carrying around. In hot weather, makeup tends to fade quickly, so it's great to reapply this like an emulsion and touch up my makeup as needed. In conclusion, the Melaphil Vitamin 8 Sunscreen is a truly satisfying product. I highly recommend it for those with combination dehydrated skin!
