The skin emulsion absorbs well even without putting in too much effort with skincare.
ConsTo be honest, I really disliked the scent. Personally, it reminded me of bathroom air freshener... Unfortunately, the fragrance lingers and doesn't dissipate. The slightly oily, slippery finish made me hesitant to use it during workouts or daily life. Also, when it mixes with sweat and gets into your eyes, it stings terribly. It might be okay for those who aren't sensitive to fragrances, but those with oily skin should definitely avoid this.
TipSince the fragrance is a major part of why I dislike it, I'm not sure how to overcome this drawback, so I haven't been using it much.

This made me feel more confident in trying it out. It's already quite popular on Olive Young with over 4,000 reviews! As a 'sun serum' rather than a sunscreen, it lives up to its name with a thin, serum-like texture that absorbs beautifully. The purple particles blend with the serum, naturally counteracting yellow tones and providing a brightening effect. It's slightly rich, so I'd recommend it for those with dry skin. As someone with dry skin myself, I loved that it didn't leave any patchiness around my nose or other areas. For those with oily skin, powder is a must! The feel is non-sticky and very lightweight, which I really appreciated. Usually, I avoid applying sunscreen when doing my makeup because it can feel sticky and uncomfortable, but this product combines the functions of a primer, serum, sunscreen, and makeup base all in one. It's incredibly versatile and convenient.
ConsThe downside: The scent is slightly reminiscent of fabric softener - I think it would have been better unscented. Also, because the formula consists of serum and separate purple particles, it doesn't apply evenly at first. You need to blend it thoroughly to get an even application.

To be honest, I can't really pinpoint any good aspects. When compared to typical brightening moisturizers with SPF or lavender-tinted bases, there's nothing that stands out as particularly better. The only thing I can say is that it gives a white cast similar to mineral sunscreens?
ConsThe most off-putting aspect was definitely the scent. It has an overwhelmingly strong, artificial fruity fragrance - like bubblegum or something - that's quite nauseating. Considering it's applied to the face, the intensity and synthetic nature of the scent is problematic. It doesn't just dissipate after application; it lingers for hours. Another issue is the granules, which were marketed as a unique feature but actually turned out to be a drawback. The product is separated into what seems to be a serum or oil and a brightening moisturizer. To apply it properly, you need to dispense it onto your hand and blend thoroughly until the granules dissolve, which takes quite a while. It's impractical when you're in a rush. While the product aims to be a time-saving all-in-one makeup base with sun protection, it actually requires more effort than using separate products. If I'm short on time, I'd rather apply a brightening moisturizer, sunscreen, and makeup base separately than deal with this mess.

Product features: Pump dispenser, serum with brightening moisturizer particles (initially thought it wasn't mixed, but this is the intended texture) Pros: 1. Multitasks as sunscreen, brightening moisturizer, makeup base, and serum all in one. 2. Natural brightening effect. Instead of a ghostly white cast, it gently evens skin tone. Subtle glow is a bonus. 3. Serum texture provides hydration. Less likely to emphasize dead skin cells compared to other brightening moisturizers. 4. Applies smoothly even with careless application. No need to worry about over-applying and looking too pale like with other brightening products. 5. No eye irritation. No skin irritation. No new blemishes appeared. 6. Skin doesn't feel suffocated. (Haven't sweated while wearing it yet, so can't guarantee, but) seems like it would be comfortable even in summer.
ConsCons: 1. (Obviously, since it's not a concealer..) Only brightens the complexion. Doesn't cover freckles, dark circles, or acne scars. 2. Slightly rich texture. However, not sticky enough for hair to stick to it. 3. Scent is unremarkable. Not bad, just typical drugstore cosmetics fragrance.
Tip1. Recommended for those who find applying brightening moisturizer and sunscreen separately too bothersome. 2. Great for those seeking a hydrating brightening moisturizer. 3. Perfect for busy mornings when you need a quick, foolproof brightening product to slap on and go. 4. Easy to apply, making it a good sunscreen alternative for students.

Brightening effect It gives a very natural brightening effect. Unlike typical mineral sunscreens, it doesn't leave a white cast. As you can see in the attached photo, it goes on very clear, providing excellent skin texture correction. It's perfect for those who want a natural-looking skin. 2. Texture With about 54% hydrating serum, it applies moisturizing. I was worried the capsules might make it go on thick, but if you spread it well, it applies evenly. If you're looking for a skincare feel, this product will suit you well. 3. User experience As mentioned in the texture description, you need to rub the capsules between your fingers to spread them evenly for the best application. I have sensitive skin, but I never experienced any blemishes while using it. It's a purple color base with skincare ingredients, so when applied to the face, it gives a natural glow without darkening, creating a beautiful complexion.
Cons1. Scent The downside is that the scent might be polarizing. My first impression was that it smelled a bit like grape jelly...? It's similar to the scent of old-school sunscreens, so quite a few people might dislike it. I'm not a big fan of it either. 2. Control I think it's quite a difficult texture to use if you're a beginner... There's no specific tool to use with it, so you have to apply it with your hands. When you rub the particles, they tend to pill or clump like dead skin cells. It seems to work best when you've properly done your skincare routine.
TipKeep your base skincare light! Make sure your oil and moisture balance is right! It seems to apply beautifully when you do this. It might be good for those with dry skin, so adjust your base routine according to your skin type. As mentioned, focus on spreading it evenly with your hands rather than using other tools. Also, make sure to give it enough time to absorb completely!

Definite brightening effect The brightening effect is truly remarkable! Among all the brightening moisturizers I've used, this one stands out - it noticeably lightens my complexion. 2. Multi-functional benefits It's hydrating, making it suitable even for dry skin. No flaking, and it brings out that coveted Inner Glow. What's more, unlike many brightening moisturizers with weak or no sun protection, this product offers strong UV defense - a huge plus! While I didn't notice much of a primer effect, it works wonderfully as a makeup base. When I apply foundation over this product, it goes on more evenly and with less patchiness.
Cons1. Fragrance The overly artificial scent was off-putting during application. If they could just adjust the fragrance, it would be nearly perfect. 2. Clumping Due to the purple particles, you need to blend it in thoroughly. This can lead to clumping, skin irritation, and even a slight burning sensation... not ideal.

It glides on smoothly when applied with a gentle rolling motion, just like a regular cream. Value for money: A little goes a long way in evening skin tone, so it should last quite a while. Minimal eye irritation: I have very sensitive eyes. While I didn't experience any discomfort indoors, on a windy day outdoors I only felt a slight sensation, but no actual irritation. Cute packaging: As a fan of purple and pastel shades, I love the packaging! The pump dispenser is also convenient to use. Glow: It gives a beautiful glow, though it might be a bit much for me in summer. It feels more like an oil-based glow than a dewy one. However, I didn't find it sticky, and despite being a sun serum, it didn't feel drying. No settling into wrinkles: Unlike other brightening moisturizers or sunscreens that can settle into my double eyelid creases and smile lines, this product doesn't when used alone (without makeup), which is very convenient.
ConsHere are some aspects I found disappointing: Scent: Initially, I liked the grape or bubblegum-like scent, but as I applied it, it started to smell like a hair salon, which made me hesitant to put it on my face. Fortunately, there's no lingering scent after absorption. Amount and absorption: While it's great that a small amount provides good coverage, I'm unsure if that's enough for proper sun protection. Using more product isn't ideal either, as despite its smooth application, it absorbs slowly. It's challenging to apply the dermatologist-recommended amount of sunscreen with this product. Mismatched tone: This is subjective, so please take it as a personal observation. I have a typical Korean skin tone (shade 21) with overall yellowish undertones and slight redness on my cheeks. Comparing it to my favorite brightening moisturizer from another brand, this product's purple tone doesn't seem to suit my skin. Instead of blurring and evening out my skin tone, it creates a stark white effect that accentuates my freckles and texture, giving my skin a grayish cast. I'm not expecting coverage from a brightening moisturizer, but I'm comparing it to how my usual product doesn't emphasize these imperfections. Foundation pilling: Perhaps due to its very moisturizing formula and slow absorption, when I applied makeup over it (after completing skincare, applying sunscreen, and fully drying my hair), my foundation balled up and slipped. When I touched my face later, it came off like dirt! It seems this product is better suited for quick errands or exercise, rather than as a base for makeup.

It absorbs lightly and thinly, allowing makeup to apply smoothly on top, making my skin feel comfortable.
Cons✔️Scent It had a strong artificial smell, reminiscent of perm solution. Those sensitive to fragrances might not appreciate it. ✔️Texture While it absorbs lightly, which is a plus, it doesn't layer well. If you're not careful, it might apply unevenly. Also, if you've applied heavy skincare underneath, this product might cause pilling during application. It's best to ensure your skincare is fully absorbed first. ✔️Longevity Initially, it gives a moisturized and smooth skin appearance, but over time, I felt some deep dryness. However, this might only apply to someone with extremely dry skin like me.
TipWhen you first use it, you might think the product has separated due to age, with an oily layer appearing. But after researching, I found out that it's designed to burst the capsules as you use it. Don't be alarmed! If you find it difficult to apply evenly, try melting it well on the back of your hand before applying it to your face for a more uniform application.

Cons- Scent: It smells a bit like fabric softener, which I found disappointing as I don't usually like fragranced cosmetics - Pilling: Depending on your skin condition, you'll need to use a very small amount! Otherwise, it pills +++ The pilling is so bad that I'm only using it to even out my neck tone. I'll have to try it again in the dead of winter
TipI use it to match my neck tone after applying makeup!! After applying to the face, I press it with a paper towel or facial tissue to control the glow

Among brightening moisturizers with SPF, it's rare to find one that doesn't dry out the skin, but this one stays hydrating even after hours. It definitely evens skin tone and locks in moisture. The texture is so good you can easily spread it with your fingers. When I first used it, I thought, 'Wow, this is great!'
ConsIt pills like dead skin cells. I applied only this product when meeting a friend, and they teased me all day saying it looked like my face was shedding. No matter how well I do my skincare, it still pills. The scent is overpowering, similar to men's skincare, and lingers all day. There must have been an ingredient that didn't agree with me because my face broke out in tiny blemishes.
