It fits easily in a handbag without taking up much space. Despite its small size, the amount of product seems generous. Convenience-wise, it's user-friendly. The product comes out like a glue stick when you twist it. The screw-on cap ensures it won't accidentally open in your bag. I once forgot a sunstick in my purse with the cap off, resulting in a messy sunscreen disaster. Thankfully, that's unlikely to happen with this one. As a lip balm, it's not bad. Though marketed for face, lips, and sensitive areas, it feels most suitable as a lip product.
ConsTexture: It's extremely sticky right after application. Even 4 hours later, it still feels heavy and tacky on the skin. The product applies and remains very thick on the skin. Application: While it glides on smoothly, you'll need to work hard to cover larger areas like legs due to its small size. I have both coarse and fine hair on my arms and legs, and because of the thick formula, it makes the hair stick to the skin uncomfortably. It's not a pleasant feeling. (My wavy hair looks completely straight and plastered down with this on!) Scent: This is the deal-breaker that brought it down to a 3-star rating. The intense vanilla fragrance gives me a headache. While it might be fine for perfume, it's too strong for a sunstick that needs to be applied all over the body regularly in summer. When you're outdoors a lot, you need to reapply every 2-3 hours, but this is too much. The very strong vanilla scent lasts for at least an hour, even outdoors. Even after 4 hours without reapplication, you can still smell it faintly. It really makes me nauseous...
TipUse it as a perfume... The scent longevity is no joke! It's really too much for facial use because of the fragrance. The texture isn't gentle or light enough for sensitive areas either. I think I'll stick with my usual sunscreen...

Unlike other sunsticks that are flat and square, the La Roche sunstick is round and small, making it adorably cute! It has a familiar scent... hmm, almond oil perhaps? It reminds me of the fragrance when applying thick balm products. I love that the cap twists open, so there's no risk of it accidentally opening while rolling around in your bag! The round stick shape makes it easy to roll and apply thoroughly to every nook and cranny. It's an extremely rich and oily product. As someone with dry skin, other sunsticks often left my cheeks feeling tight with deep dryness, but this product is so oily that it would be perfect for winter use.
ConsIt's extremely... oily. When applied, it feels sticky, which might be challenging to use in summer. While I'd recommend it for those with dry skin, it's not advisable for combination or oily skin types. It's more of a thick sun balm than a typical sunstick!
TipJust apply it once with a quick swipe. One application is enough as it spreads well. It's so rich that if you apply too much, it can pill excessively.

Quantity: As soon as you open the cap, it pops out like that! I applied quite a bit on my face, but it's barely noticeable, so I think it'll last a while. Scent: Although fragrance was added, it has a sweet coconut or vanilla scent, which I absolutely adored! Texture: The texture is similar to petroleum jelly. It's very rich, like concentrated petroleum jelly. After applying and letting it sit for a while, your skin becomes glossy, just like when you apply petroleum jelly. Finish: Highly recommended for dry skin types. I wish I had tried it in winter, I think it would have been even better then. Nonetheless, I'm always grateful to be selected as a Hwahae Tester!
ConsIt's very rich, so it doesn't spread easily. Hair sticks to it badly. It's exactly like petroleum jelly! Since it's hard to see where you've applied it, you end up reapplying or checking under a light. It's difficult to apply around the nose! Additional note (8/19): Can't use it in midsummer. It makes makeup separate, emphasizes pores, and all your hair sticks to your face...

It's perfect for carrying around, and being a stick format, you can apply it comfortably anytime. I also appreciated that it's a vegan cosmetic product. With all the environmental concerns these days, I've been interested in vegan beauty products, so this piqued my curiosity. When the delivery arrived, even the packaging gave off an eco-friendly vibe. The twist-up container means you can toss it in your bag without worrying about it opening accidentally. Unlike flip-top containers that sometimes pop open and make a mess in your bag, this one's worry-free. Being a stick, it applies a moisturizing layer smoothly. This makes it suitable for those with dry skin to use without any issues. Now that the sun's getting harsh, I plan to carry it around for on-the-go application.
ConsFirst off, I wasn't a fan of the scent. I'm sensitive to smells and prefer unscented or subtle fragrances, but this had quite a strong coconut or vanilla-like scent that was overwhelming to apply on my face. Also, probably due to its stick format, the texture is quite rich and tacky, which I don't think is suitable for summer. While the texture doesn't cause any deep dryness, it does take away that fresh, matte feeling. Considering summer humidity and sweat...
TipIt's great for carrying around and applying conveniently!

The pros of this product include its portability (it's smaller than expected). Some people mention a coconut scent, which I agree with. There's a strong coconut and vanilla fragrance. This might be divisive, but I personally liked it, so I consider it a plus. When applied all over the face, it seems to maintain hydration well - lighter than a thin layer of Vaseline. The product feels gentle, and I appreciated that it didn't irritate my eyes when applied under them. However, due to its rich texture, I think it's more suitable for sensitive or dry skin types rather than oily ones. + The eco-friendly aspect is also a positive point.
ConsAs I have oily skin, it felt a bit greasy when applied, and when I put on cushion foundation afterwards, there was some pilling. I thought it might be better suited for use on arms or legs instead. The thick consistency also means that hair tends to stick to your face easily.
TipIf you go out without makeup, this product would be great to carry around and use. However, if you're wearing makeup and apply it vigorously, your makeup might pill.

What I love about this product is that it doesn't harm marine ecosystems, and the packaging is made from recyclable plastic, so I felt like I was doing my bit to protect the planet. At first, I was surprised by how small it was, but it's actually the perfect compact size for carrying around. We all know that sunscreen isn't just a one-and-done morning application - you need to reapply every two hours for effective UV protection. But let's be honest, who wants to mess around with greasy creams throughout the day? That's where La Roche's [Clean Sun Stick] shines. It's a sunscreen in stick form, making it super easy to reapply anywhere, anytime. The solid balm texture means that despite its small size, it'll last for ages. As someone who prefers smaller bags, I was thrilled at how perfectly it fits. Plus, it's made with naturally-derived ingredients, so even those worried about blemishes can use it with peace of mind. Highly recommend!
ConsThe texture is quite thick, so you need to apply some pressure when rubbing it on your skin. I'd suggest applying it with upward strokes rather than downward for a bit of a lifting effect!

When first applied, it feels like you're coating your skin with a thin layer of candle wax. It doesn't absorb, but rather creates a protective barrier against UV rays on the skin's surface. This texture might be quite polarizing. While not sticky, you can feel that distinctive waxy, smooth yet slightly tacky sensation whenever you touch your skin. It doesn't glide on smoothly, so it may cause some pilling on delicate skin areas. Scent: Interestingly, when using the product, it smells more like freshly baked bread than vanilla. As time passes, if you take a close sniff, you can detect a very faint vanilla ice cream scent. When applied to the neck and arms, the fragrance isn't overpowering at all. Overall Impression: There's been a lot of talk lately about how some sunscreens harm marine life. This sunstick, coming from Europe, is well-known for being reef-safe. The fact that it's suitable for children over 3 years old and has good ingredients speaks to its natural-derived formulation. The texture doesn't seem to wash off easily with water, making it ideal for water activities.
ConsThe wax-based formula results in a stiff application that can cause some pilling. After application, your skin feels coated with a waxy, slightly tacky layer. It doesn't absorb, but rather forms a protective barrier against UV rays. If you're looking for a powdery or moisturizing finish, this might not be for you. However, given that sunsticks generally leave a somewhat uncomfortable feeling after application, this level of discomfort might be acceptable.
TipWhile sunsticks have the advantage of easy, mess-free application, if you want to avoid patchy sun protection, it's best to blend it thoroughly with your hands after applying.

The sweet aroma was really pleasant. The texture is quite thick, so it didn't apply smoothly on the skin. I think it would be better to apply this after moisturizing your skin with another product first. It seemed to provide effective sun protection.
ConsAfter use, my skin felt a bit sticky. It definitely doesn't leave a matte finish! The texture is too thick to easily apply on the body, so it might be challenging to use anywhere other than the face.
