The texture and fragrance both have a strong buttery feel. When applied, it spreads smoothly without any resistance, but leaves a sticky finish.
ConsIf you're someone who dislikes sticky textures, you probably won't be able to use this on either your body or face.
TipSince I have oily skin, I'm afraid of getting blemishes, so I can't use it on my face. I apply it to my neck and then set it with powder.

Application: Applies with a bit of resistance and leaves a slightly sticky finish. This can make it appear rich in oils. (Might feel heavy during summer) - See photos: 1(before application) > 2(after application) 2. Scent: Described as a subtle vanilla fragrance, but it's more like a blend of coconut and chocolate (similar to MAC lipsticks). 3. Sun Protection: SPF 50 with UVA and UVB protection. Uses a next-generation organic sun filter system instead of traditional mineral or chemical filters. It's eco-friendly and doesn't harm marine life. (This seems to be a key selling point for this sunstick) 4. Gentleness: True to its nature-friendly claim, it didn't cause any stinging, itching, or blemishes during use. 5. Makeup Compatibility: Might feel heavy when used alone due to its rich appearance. However, it works well when applied after a serum and before base makeup. Makeup applies smoothly without pilling, leaving the skin looking dewy and flawless. - See photos: 3(before use) > 4(after use)
Cons1. No blemishes 2. As mentioned, it's more sticky than moisturizing, so using the sunstick alone might make your skin look oily. Setting with powder is a must, or just keep your skincare routine light before applying. -> Recommended for: Dry and combination dehydrated skin Might work for oily skin if used under makeup. 3. Amount (photo 5): Taken after about 4 uses, the product might look low, but being a compressed stick, it's hard to tell until you've used it all. Included the photo for reference. - Size (photo 6)
TipThe stick format makes it super convenient for applying on the neck.

It has a sweet chocolate scent that those who enjoy such fragrances will find satisfying. However, this scent might be a bit polarizing.
ConsIt was extremely sticky, with the tackiness persisting for over 30 minutes after application. Apart from this issue, everything else about the product is great.

When applied, it feels a bit sticky, so it's better suited for facial use rather than as a body product. The scent is predominantly shea butter. Overall, it gives a nice glow, making it perfect for light walks - just dust some powder on certain areas for best results.
ConsIt's quite sticky, so it tends to attract dust to your face after application. When using this sunstick alone, applying powder in specific areas is a must. It tends to pill when used with a dewy foundation, so it's better paired with a matte foundation instead of a hydrating one.

Convenience I tried a sunscreen stick for the first time, and I loved that I could easily apply sun protection anywhere without using my hands! The stick was small, making it convenient to carry around. 2. Makeup-friendly When I applied a thin layer of the sunstick after basic skincare, my base makeup went on really well. Given the hot weather and the fact that my base makeup also has sun protection, a thin layer was sufficient. 3. No eye irritation!! As someone with dry and sensitive eyes, I can confidently say it doesn't irritate my eyes at all. I felt so relieved that I could even apply it around my eyes without any issues. 4. Application The application was surprisingly unique. At first, it felt a bit stiff, but as it warmed up with body heat, it glided on very smoothly. Plus, maybe because I like yellow, but I found the packaging super pretty!
Cons1. Scent Personally, I'm not a fan of the shea butter scent... but this is just a matter of personal preference! 2. Stickiness If I go out wearing only the sunstick on bare skin, it feels sticky. It feels more like it's covering the surface of my skin rather than being absorbed, so my hair sticks to my face like crazy. The hot weather and facial sweat probably contribute to this too. Applying powder helps make it feel more matte and manageable.

Unlike other sunsticks that are flat and square, the La Roche sunstick is round and small, making it adorably cute! It has a familiar scent... hmm, almond oil perhaps? It reminds me of the fragrance when applying thick balm products. I love that the cap twists open, so there's no risk of it accidentally opening while rolling around in your bag! The round stick shape makes it easy to roll and apply thoroughly to every nook and cranny. It's an extremely rich and oily product. As someone with dry skin, other sunsticks often left my cheeks feeling tight with deep dryness, but this product is so oily that it would be perfect for winter use.
ConsIt's extremely... oily. When applied, it feels sticky, which might be challenging to use in summer. While I'd recommend it for those with dry skin, it's not advisable for combination or oily skin types. It's more of a thick sun balm than a typical sunstick!
TipJust apply it once with a quick swipe. One application is enough as it spreads well. It's so rich that if you apply too much, it can pill excessively.

It's quite strong right after application, so if you're sensitive to fragrances, you might want to give it some extra consideration.
ConsThe texture was disappointing for me. When first applied to my arms, it felt extremely sticky with an unpleasant residue on both arms and hands. Despite being a sun stick, I had to spread it like regular sunscreen. The stickiness does fade after about 15-20 minutes... But in my opinion, the formula was really subpar. It felt like melted candy clinging to my skin.
TipIf you pat it in after applying, it becomes less sticky.

Eco-friendliness From the packaging to the wrapping materials, everything was environmentally friendly when I received the delivery. The product itself is free from ingredients harmful to the environment (coral), which helps alleviate the guilt of using sunblock products in summer, despite their environmental impact. 2. Scent To me, it has a warm coconut and almond fragrance that makes applying it feel like an aromatherapy session. However, scent preferences can vary greatly, so those who dislike this type of fragrance might want to keep that in mind. 3. Size and Container Design It's compact and fits comfortably in one hand, making it highly portable. The twist-off cap is great for preventing potential disasters if it accidentally opens in your bag. 4. Skin Feel I have thin, sensitive skin, but true to its gentle ingredients, this product causes no irritation and feels mild. It's labeled as suitable for children 3 and up, and I genuinely feel it would be safe to use on kids.
Cons1. Application It spreads a bit thick, so you need to massage it in with your hands to feel confident about the coverage. 2. Finish The finish is more dewy and moisturizing than matte. Those who prefer a powdery finish or have oily skin might find it a bit sticky. Personally, I don't mind this, as I've found that products with a matte finish can sometimes leave a powdery residue that transfers to clothes. This aspect will likely come down to personal preference.
TipI usually only use sunsticks for my body, so I don't find it particularly inconvenient. It feels like it coats the skin, which might make it less likely to wash off during water activities and convenient for reapplication on the go.

I happened to go on a trip to Japan when I got this product, and it was fantastic to carry around and apply! The sun was really intense throughout the trip, but thanks to this, I was protected from UV rays and didn't get sunburned. I loved it! Another great thing was the absence of white cast. Some sunscreens can make you look dirty, like you've got dust on your face, but this one just looked like my natural skin tone, which was perfect! It felt light, easy to use, and simple - I really enjoyed it! The consistency was also firm, not runny at all, which made it easy to apply.
ConsThere was a sticky feeling before it absorbed, which I didn't like. I had high hopes for this product because I dislike stickiness, but I did feel it initially. However, it was fine after it absorbed! For those who don't like stickiness, keep in mind that it gets better after a while. I'm not a big fan of coconut scent to begin with, so the fragrance was a bit disappointing for me. But that's just personal preference, can't be helped!

Unlike mineral sunscreen sticks, it doesn't leave a white cast, making it great for reapplication over makeup. It doesn't feel like you're wearing nothing though - there's a noticeable glow after application. (In the second photo, the left arm is with the product, the right arm is without) - The texture, absorption, and post-application glow are similar to the famous Kahi Balm.
Cons- It tends to be on the sticky side. Not recommended for those who prefer a matte finish. - After applying it to my arms and neck, I later noticed yellow stains on the inside of my sleeves. - While I received this as part of The Hwahae Testers program, I noticed it's quite pricey. Given its small size and lack of standout benefits, I wouldn't spend my own money on it.
Tip- With its nourishing balm-like texture, it seems ideal for application when the skin feels tight or dry.
