Then I realized it's the familiar tea tree aroma I've encountered in other products, but here it's much more pronounced. Personally, I love this natural fragrance. The texture isn't quite the elastic gelato-like consistency you might expect, but more of a cream or balm. It spreads smoothly, like a soft bar of soap. It provides a refreshing cleanse, and you only need a small amount for an effective wash. It feels like you're doing a mask and cleansing at the same time, which is great.
ConsSome people might not appreciate the scent. The tea tree fragrance isn't subtle - it's quite strong and noticeable, which could be overwhelming for some. Also, while it's a balm, it has an oily balm feel to it. I found it a bit heavy when used without water. It's probably best not to leave it on for too long.

The texture: It comes in a solid form! You can use a spatula to scoop it out. I liked that it creates a rich, creamy lather. It also contains small granules. The scent: It has a subtle tea tree fragrance that's not overpowering, so it should be suitable for most people without being divisive. The experience: After using it, I expected my skin to feel squeaky clean, but it wasn't as intense as I thought. However, it might be too harsh for daily use, so be cautious if you have sensitive skin.
ConsThe included spatula is quite large, so you need to store it separately, which can be a bit inconvenient. I tried using a foam maker (like the ones sold at Daiso) to create a dense lather, but it felt slightly heavy on my skin. This isn't a big issue if you make the foam with your hands as it creates a lighter texture, so just find the method that works best for you. Right after cleansing, my skin felt smoother, but I'm not sure if it had a significant effect on blackheads. I checked the ingredients on Hwahae and found that it contains five ingredients that aren't great for sensitive skin, so those with extremely sensitive skin should be cautious.
TipIf you enjoy a rich, creamy lather, you might want to try using a foam maker (like the pink product shown in the image) that you can find at Daiso! The first image shows the foam created by hand, and the second shows the dense foam made with the pink foam maker.
