When I applied it as a toner pack on my flushed, heated cheeks, I noticed a cooling effect. Even a light 2-minute application quickly reduces the heat sensation. The Hwahae Testers will appreciate how well it absorbs, making it convenient to use both as a toner pack or for wiping. I initially scoffed at claims it helps with blackheads and whiteheads, but after using it, I saw meaningful results! While not dramatic, and other skincare steps are necessary, this toner showed the most noticeable effects in this area compared to others I've tried.
ConsIt claims to balance oil and moisture, but while it definitely controls oiliness, I didn't feel like it added hydration.
TipIt's great for emulsifying and removing sebum, and following up with a toner pack provides a nice cooling effect to finish.

After about 4-5 days, I noticed less deep dryness compared to before. The hydration is definitely noticeable - I used to apply toner-serum-cream, but now I can skip the serum and just use toner and cream without feeling dry. It has a cooling effect that's great for reducing heat and redness after showering. With its water-like texture that isn't sticky, it's perfect for daily use both morning and night.
ConsTo be honest, I didn't have high expectations, so I'm not too disappointed, but the oil control effect isn't that impressive. While it provides hydration for combination dehydrated skin, the oiliness... After about 3 hours, the T-zone shine is just the same as before.
TipWhen redness is severe, applying it again on a cotton pad after your routine helps it subside much faster.

Soothing Effect It has a calming effect on the skin. It's not like 'Instant soothing! Definitely calming!' kind of thing. Usually, the first skincare products I apply after washing my face often cause redness or blemishes, but with this, nothing happened. When I feel redness or a subtle burning sensation, I know a product doesn't suit me, but I didn't get that with Nine Tree toner. It just felt comfortably soothing. As you can see in the before and after photos, my skin had redness from irritation, but it disappeared! That gentle feeling was so comfortable. I think it's the power of the Ganghwado Mugwort ingredient. 2. Reduced Oiliness (Decrease in Blackheads and Whiteheads) The resurrection plant and trehalose in the product description were particularly impressive. Thanks to these ingredients, blackheads and whiteheads noticeably decreased. With consistent use, I definitely felt less oily. It's a feeling you have to experience! It's not dry, but it's like 'Why is my skin producing less oil than usual?' After two weeks of use, my blackheads became smaller, and the whiteheads on my chin reduced in size. 3. Hydration You might think a toner that controls oil would be drying, but it's not at all... The magical erythritol is said to be good for maintaining moisture, and I think that's why it works so well.
ConsI didn't have any complaints while using it. Since it's an oil-free toner, those with dry skin might need to use a hydrating or oil-based emulsion in the next step of their skincare routine.
TipWhen I use it as a mask by soaking cotton pads with the toner, my makeup base doesn't pill!

As someone with combination dehydrated skin, my face usually feels dry after cleansing, but by afternoon the oil starts creeping up. This toner really focuses on balancing oil and moisture, and I love how it effectively controls excess sebum.
ConsLike most toners, it doesn't have any special additional benefits. It's not a toner that provides 100% hydration, but rather one that balances oil and moisture. So when I applied it just once, my skin felt slightly dry.
TipSince it has a water-like consistency, I thought it might be a bit drying after the first use. However, when I layered it two or three times, it felt just right! The lightweight formula makes it great for layering or even using as an evening toner mask.

The scent is subtle, maybe a light herbal fragrance? It's very faint and doesn't overwhelm your senses. The texture is like a water toner, a liquid skin toner. The feel on the skin is absolutely fantastic - it has excellent soothing and hydrating effects, seeming to calm down areas with blemishes. It gives a sense of refining and organizing your skin texture. Lately, with all the sweat and humidity, my oil and moisture balance has been off, but when I apply this with a cotton pad to wipe my skin, it helps control the excess oil. I really like that!
ConsThe downside is that while it definitely controls oil, I'm not sure if its hydration power is that impressive.
TipIf you soak a cotton pad and leave it on like a mask before applying makeup, your makeup goes on beautifully!

Despite its high moisture content, it has a refreshing water-like texture without being sticky or heavy. After coming back from a trip during the holidays, I applied it like a mask on my cheekbones, and it noticeably reduced the heat in my skin! It's a gentle, moisturizing toner with good overall balance and no irritation. It's particularly effective in soothing sun-exposed skin while it's still hot outside. As autumn approaches and the air gets drier, its hydrating properties will become even more beneficial. This toner seems suitable for use in all seasons.
ConsI didn't experience any significant downsides. However, it claims to have oil and moisture balancing properties, but as I have dry skin with very little oil, I couldn't really notice this effect. Those with oily skin might want to check other reviews for reference.
TipWhen your face feels red or hot, it works well as a soothing mask if you soak a cotton pad with it and apply it to your skin. It's a great product for doing quick skin-soaking treatments.

It's not an extremely runny toner, but has a slight viscosity, making it feel more hydrating than a typical watery toner. It's perfect for multiple applications in humid, hot weather like now. However, those with dry skin or during the drier autumn months might find it challenging to use. What I loved most was how gentle it felt on my skin, likely due to the absence of harmful ingredients. This encouraged me to use it more frequently. The large volume allowed me to transfer some into a mist bottle, which was great for hydration top-ups throughout the day. It's very hydrating, so applying it several times after cleansing and before essence leaves the skin feeling moisturized. On Chuseok day, when UV exposure was intense, I used it as a mask on my face with cotton pads and applied it to my arms and legs. It seemed to have a calming effect. The next day, I noticed its significant soothing properties as my face didn't feel hot or irritated.
ConsWhile it's packed with hydration, the lack of oil can make it feel a bit dry. However, if you follow up with a moisturizing product right after, it feels sufficiently hydrated, so I don't have any major complaints.

The consistency is similar to slightly runny mucus. * Scent - Due to the extracts, there's a very faint mugwort-like scent, but it's barely noticeable. * Ingredients - True to the brand name, it's packed with high-moisture and soothing ingredients like mugwort. The toner stage already provides incredible hydration. There's almost no oiliness, just pure, intense moisture. * Other notes - Notable hydrating ingredients like glycerin and panthenol stand out. It's perfect for daily use without feeling heavy on the skin.
Cons* While great for daily use, those needing a bit more oil in their routine may need to supplement with additional products. * Due to the short usage period, it's unclear whether it reduces sebum and blackheads, or which ingredients might be responsible for these effects.
Tip* Ideal for daily use, and might be sufficient on its own for oily skin types during hot and humid weather. * Layering with a slightly oily essence on top works well and is comfortable to use.
