I applied to be one of The Hwahae Testers to give it a go. First off, it's definitely a watery oil as described. To be honest, I'm not a big fan of oils and haven't tried many cleansing oils, but this is the lightest one I've experienced so far. It also contains my favorite BHA and PHA ingredients, which might be why my skin felt smoother and more refined after washing, as if it effectively dissolved sebum and dead skin cells. Initially, when I was rolling it on my face and emulsifying it, I was skeptical - the slippery feeling made me wonder if it was just another ordinary cleansing oil. However, after rinsing thoroughly and patting my face dry, I was pleasantly surprised. There was no lingering oily sensation; instead, my skin felt hydrated and my complexion looked clearer. Since I didn't experience any blemishes after use, I'm planning to incorporate this into my evening cleansing routine.
ConsThe downside is that the slippery feeling during rinsing makes me use more water than usual, as I keep thinking there might be residue left. I suppose it's because I have oily skin and tend to be wary of anything that feels even slightly rich.

The products I used back then seemed more suitable for those with dry skin. After a long time, I was lucky enough to win a trial and got to use the Acnes Cleansing Oil. This product is definitely a great cleansing oil for oily skin! Does that mean it's not good for dry skin? Not at all. It has a very light and watery feel, leaving the skin moisturized after use, making it suitable for all skin types. I usually wear sunscreen, cushion foundation, eyebrow makeup, and lip color, and it removes everything effectively. The cleansing power is excellent. Although I don't wear much eye makeup, I believe it would remove that well too. After massaging and emulsifying, when I wipe it off, I notice it's great at dissolving whiteheads and blackheads! This made me realize why people use cleansing oils. Acnes has long been known as a brand suitable for sensitive skin, and after actually using this cleansing product, I'm really impressed with how it feels^^ 🩵Summary A daily cleansing oil that's light enough for all skin types, including oily skin
ConsWhile the texture itself is light, there's a slight slippery feeling that seems unavoidable because it's an oil. It's fine though, as the skin feels squeaky clean after the second cleanse

As someone who's always on the hunt for the perfect cleansing oil, I'm absolutely stunned... This is the first time I've used a cleansing oil that doesn't hurt my eyes at all. I can massage it in, emulsify it, and open my eyes without any discomfort. It's unbelievable! How can it be so gentle that it doesn't irritate even the most sensitive part - the eyes? Definitely a pass!
ConsThe cleansing oil feels so moisturizing that even after washing, my skin still feels slippery. It's like there's a lingering glycerin-like feeling. As a result, I keep rinsing and rinsing. It doesn't seem to emulsify well. Even with lots of water, it feels like it's just sliding around on the surface. It was okay the first time, so I tried it for a couple more days, but eventually, blemishes appeared. Such a shame, I wanted to stick with it because it didn't sting my eyes, but alas. My super sensitive skin is crying... literally!
TipDon't just massage with the oil alone. Spread the oil evenly, then emulsify and massage it in.

Here are my thoughts after using it for about 7 days: 1. Packaging It comes in a common pump bottle, and the pump works exceptionally well - just a gentle press releases the product! 2. Scent This might be a bit divisive. Personally, I loved the powdery fragrance - it made using this product much more enjoyable than other oils! 3. Texture The texture is a liquid oil with a very slight viscosity. 4. Application True to its oily nature, 1-2 pumps were enough to cover my entire face. 5. Cleansing Power While it's excellent at removing makeup, I didn't see much effect on sebum removal.
ConsThere are two downsides: While it does remove blackheads, it doesn't seem to thoroughly cleanse the deeper sebum. There's quite a bit of residual slipperiness after rinsing, which might not appeal to men.
TipWhen you feel that slippery residue, I recommend following up with a foam cleanser for a second cleanse!

It's truly a lightweight oil that cleanses effectively. I feel like it helps manage sebum to some extent (I've noticed my skin produces oil more slowly compared to when I use other cleansing products). Considering the texture and performance alone, it's one of the cleansing oils that works well for my oily skin. The consistency is very thin, which I prefer over thicker formulas - it's a plus for me!
ConsIf the finish was more refreshing, I would have given it five stars. Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of the slightly slippery residue it leaves behind. While it keeps my skin moisturized and free from tightness after cleansing, I'm unsure if I've rinsed it off completely or not...

As someone with super sensitive skin, I usually struggle with thick cleansers and use mineral sunscreen, which is hard to remove with regular foam cleansers. It often leaves residue on my nose. But the Acnes Poha Cleansing Oil dissolves even the deepest sunscreen in my pores and nose with ease! I could even see little grains of sebum and impurities coming up as I massaged it in! The gentle exfoliation made my skin incredibly smooth, almost like I'd used a peeling gel or scrub. From day one, my skin texture has been so soft, and the next day my sunscreen and base makeup went on beautifully. I haven't used scrubs or peeling gels in ages due to winter sensitivity, but this gave me gentle exfoliation without irritation. Even my husband, who has blemish-prone skin, tried it and loved how smooth it made his skin without causing breakouts! The formula is much more watery and lightweight than other oils, so I was skeptical about its cleansing power. But wow, seeing the sebum come out proved its effectiveness. It seems to cause fewer blemishes than heavier formulas that can clog pores. I used Acnes foam cleanser for blemish control as a student, and it's still great! I recommend this for sensitive and blemish-prone skin types. The finish isn't super fresh, more of a slippery feel, so it's great for dry skin. If you have oily skin or prefer a matte finish, follow up with a second cleanser for a squeaky clean feel. I'll definitely repurchase when I run out!
ConsTo be completely honest, there wasn't anything I disliked! However, the finish is more slippery and oily rather than fresh, so those who don't like this type of finish might have mixed feelings about it. As someone with sensitive and dry skin, I prefer this smooth finish to a squeaky clean feel, so luckily, I love it! If you want a fresh finish, I'd recommend following up with a second cleanser that gives you that squeaky clean feeling.
TipOnce a week, try opening up your pores with a facial steamer, then massage with the Poha Cleansing Oil. It's great for pore and sebum management! A double cleanse definitely leaves your skin cleaner, so I recommend using the Poha Cleansing Oil as your first step, followed by a gentle foam, gel cleanser, or cleansing milk for your second cleanse.

It rolls on smoothly and lightly, making it great for gentle, non-irritating use. The fragrance is subtle and inoffensive, perfect for those seeking a light, low-irritation option. It's ideal for people like me who only use sunscreen and basic skincare, and it's especially suitable for men.
ConsDue to its oily nature, there's a slight slippery feeling after rinsing, which made me question if I'd cleansed thoroughly. However, this is common with all cleansing oils, so apart from that, everything else was great.
TipI have combination dehydrated skin, but I didn't feel any dryness after using this. After applying the oil and following up with just a cream, my skin felt perfectly moisturized until the next morning, with no signs of deep dryness.
