I think Aestica is the real deal from Aestura, even more so than Atobarrier. It's not a lightweight formula by any means - it's quite rich with a high oil content, making it feel substantial. What's fascinating is that it doesn't heat up your face, but instead creates a cooling sensation. It's truly a cooling product. Those ice packs and artificial cooling products that temporarily chill your skin are actually not great in the long run. They can be irritating, especially for sensitive skin. The Aestica line works by maintaining an acidic skin environment to combat redness and inflammation. I was skeptical when they claimed to be the first with this function, thinking it was just marketing hype for a run-of-the-mill serum. But I have to say, the effects are truly unique and impressive. The serum has a satisfyingly thick finish. In weather like this, you can skip moisturizer and just use this with an ampoule for a great makeup base. It's a bit sticky. The oil content seems to dominate, so you don't get much of a hydrating sensation. It feels like it's laying a film over your face. Try alternating this with a hyaluronic acid ampoule. Using this alone in summer might feel too heavy. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinMay 17, 2025
The temporary soothing effect is great. It is not stimulating, so I can apply it without burden. Applying too much can leave a slightly oily feel. I have skin that is prone to oiliness, so I found that just a light application works best for me. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinFeb 27, 2025
Texture: The formula has a slightly viscous, fluid consistency that absorbs quickly. It feels lightweight when applied, but leaves skin feeling plump after absorption. There's a slightly sticky finish that might be hit or miss for some. Personally, I love how this plumpness seems to indicate deep hydration! Scent: It's nearly fragrance-free, making it so easy to use! There's a very faint signature scent, but it's pleasant. Oil Control: I was pleasantly surprised by how well it replenished moisture. I'm prone to acne, but during the two weeks I used this product, I didn't experience any major blemishes (like cystic acne or pustules). That was the most impressive part. (Occasionally, tiny whiteheads would appear, but they'd quickly calm down or come to a head.) Pros: • Light and hydrating feel, with a plumping finish • Nearly fragrance-free, making it suitable for sensitive skin • Excellent at replenishing moisture and minimizing blemishes Post-application Shine: This was the richest serum I've used! While it balances both hydration and oil, there's a slight shine after application. It's not overwhelming, but you might need to use blotting papers if it bothers you. Volume: When my skin felt particularly dry, I'd apply two layers instead of one. This made the product seem to run out faster. The opaque packaging makes it impossible to see how much is left, which is frustrating. Redness: Unfortunately, I didn't notice much improvement in redness reduction, which was disappointing. Cons: • The slightly sticky finish might not be for everyone • Minimal effect on reducing redness • Seems to run out quickly Recommend applying at least two layers for best results!
