- Hwahae UserCombination SkinMay 6, 2025
I used this product for a week from April 22nd to May 6th, both morning and evening, as part of my skincare routine and as a base before makeup. I have combination skin with shade #23. This was my first time trying a Dalba product and a brightening skincare item. With my darker #23 complexion, I honestly didn't expect any drastic overall brightening effects. My main hope was for improvement in dark spots and blemishes. 1) Brightening & Dark Spot Care While I'm not sure about the overall brightening effect, I did notice some improvement with dark spots and blemishes. I didn't see much difference for the first 3-4 days, but after about a week, I noticed that some small blemishes on my right cheek and the back of my hand had slightly faded. Larger, older spots on my nose and chin area didn't show improvement, but I'm hopeful for the newer, smaller blemishes. I've never paid much attention to dark spot removal before, focusing mainly on pore care and dark circles. But after hearing how my peers were actively managing their skin concerns, I decided to give this product a try. I'm pleasantly surprised and plan to continue using it. 2) Texture & Application The cream has a nice, balanced texture - not too thick or too light, but pleasantly creamy. It contains yellow capsules that quickly melt with your body heat, making it easy to apply without much effort. I usually don't like creams with capsules as they can be difficult to spread evenly, but this one was surprisingly comfortable to use. It absorbs well without leaving a greasy feeling, creating a smooth canvas that doesn't interfere with makeup application. 3) Scent There's a fresh, citrusy scent, probably due to the vitamin content. It's not overpowering and actually quite sophisticated. Lately, I've been noticing that fragrance can be a key difference between budget and high-end products. The subtle scent of this cream adds a touch of luxury to my skincare routine. 4) Hygienic Inner Lid & Spatula The product comes with an inner lid, which I really appreciate. It helps keep the cream fresh by minimizing air exposure, and being transparent, it's easy to check how much product is left. The spatula storage on top of the inner lid is incredibly convenient. Some products have spatulas that are too small to be useful, or awkwardly attached to the lid. This one is just right - easy to store and use, and wide enough to scoop the product effectively. I usually avoid using spatulas due to recycling concerns and inconvenience, but I found myself consistently using this one. As someone with combination skin, I always struggle with excess oil, especially around my nose. After applying this cream, I noticed significant oil buildup in that area. When I use it before bed, I wake up with a very shiny T-zone, particularly around my nose and butterfly zone. While some oil production is normal due to sebum, this cream definitely feels more oil-rich compared to the hydrating, moisturizing creams I've used before. When I applied it before makeup, my nose area became very oily and my makeup started to break down there. As a result, I've stopped applying it to my nose area before makeup. Those with oily skin might want to keep this in mind.
